Georgia, Juliet, Amelia

Trying to name our daughter who will be joining her brother, [name]Will[/name]. My husband likes [name]Georgia[/name], I like [name]Juliet[/name] and [name]Amelia[/name]. I just don’t like the idea of naming our daughter after a state(we live in [name]America[/name]) and DH doesn’t like any of the other variants. We want something classic but not boring. What do you think?

Out of the three you’ve mentioned my favourite is [name]Amelia[/name]. I’ve never been a fan of [name]Georgia[/name] - but I love [name]Georgina[/name], and I just find [name]Juliet[/name] too tragic. Other thoughts: [name]Eliza[/name], [name]Bethan[/name] / [name]Bethany[/name], [name]Eve[/name], [name]Isobel[/name], [name]Violet[/name], [name]Scarlet[/name], [name]Opal[/name], [name]Nancy[/name], [name]Poppy[/name], [name]Zoe[/name], [name]Lucille[/name], [name]Clarissa[/name], [name]Leah[/name]?

What about [name]Georgiana[/name]?

If you aren’t liking [name]Georgia[/name], and he isn’t liking [name]Juliet[/name] or [name]Amelia[/name], you may have to keep looking. However, I clicked on this thread because I adore [name]Georgia[/name]! I find the nickname “[name]Georgie[/name]” so sweet–in fact, sweet enough to use on its own as a given name. If you have never seen the latest Chronicles of [name]Narnia[/name] movies, watching them may make you fall in love with [name]Georgia[/name]/[name]Georgie[/name], as the adorable little redhead is an actress billed as [name]Georgie[/name] [name]Henley[/name] (she’s a teen now, but if you Google her name adorable pictures will come up!). [name]Georgia[/name] would also give you the nickname possibility of [name]Gia[/name] (which can also stand alone as a name if you decide you like that). To be honest, I live in the States too and the name doesn’t make me think of the state of [name]Georgia[/name] (or the European country of the same name). I think of it as a feminization of [name]George[/name]. Having said all that, if you’re just not feeling the name [name]Georgia[/name], you may just have to keep looking! Good luck.

I know you said your husband doesn’t like the other variants, but I love [name]Georgiana[/name]. In the ‘Classic’ Family, I like [name]Frances[/name], [name]Louisa[/name], and [name]Imogen[/name]. You might like this list, it’s called ‘Classic Eccentric Names’: categories: Classic Eccentric

[name]Amelia[/name] and [name]Will[/name] would be so amazing together! [name]Both[/name] are classics that aren’t boring. [name]Georgia[/name] and [name]Juliet[/name] are also some of my favorites but I think they’re a little too unique to go next to the super popular [name]Will[/name]. You could also nickname [name]Amelia[/name] “[name]Mia[/name]”, “[name]Amy[/name]”, “[name]Millie[/name]”, etc.

I think [name]Georgia[/name] and [name]Will[/name] sound the best together. I don’t think it’s weird to use a state name in [name]America[/name] at all. Maybe if you lived in [name]Georgia[/name] that could be a little confusing but I think it’s just fine. [name]Amelia[/name] and [name]Will[/name] are cute together as well. I especially would like [name]Amelia[/name] if [name]Will[/name] is short for [name]William[/name]. [name]William[/name] and [name]Amelia[/name] are swoon worthy together

I like [name]Amelia[/name] best out of all of them. [name]Juliet[/name] second & then [name]Georgia[/name]. Having said that I’m like your husband, I don’t like the other variants especially [name]Georgina[/name].

They’re all nice names but [name]Juliet[/name] is my favourite. [name]Will[/name] & [name]Juliet[/name] make a great pair!
