Georgia or Ruby! Please help!

I finally decided on the name Georgia but now also love Ruby!!

Please help decide! I am due any day now!

I think both names are incredibly sweet!

[name_f]Georgia[/name_f] reads as more classic and sweet, while [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] is more spunky and trendy!

Either way, you can’t go wrong. Maybe factor in how both names flow with your chosen middle name to pick your winner.

Best of luck!!

Oo tough… I might like [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] more. [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] is sweet though! I live near the state so maybe that’s why I prefer [name_u]Ruby[/name_u]. R is a pretty initial too.

I like both names but I think [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] is much fresher feeling than [name_u]Ruby[/name_u]! [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u] is just a gorgeous name.

georgia! so pretty.

[name_u]Ruby[/name_u] without a doubt. The meaning is better.

Both lovely options!

[name_u]Ruby[/name_u] is one of my personal favourites, so I’m a bit biased toward that one… but [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] is a very pretty classic, too!

Factors that might help with deciding:

  • nickname preferences (Georgie, [name_f]Gia[/name_f], Rubes, [name_u]Rue[/name_u], [name_f]Bee[/name_f], etc.?)
  • initials, in combination with the planned middle + surname

Is combining the two an option? [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] & [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] both sound great together!

Could you use both? [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] or [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] [name_u]Ruby[/name_u]?

I think I prefer [name_f]Georgia[/name_f], because it’s got a more classic, timeless feel. But it really depends on flow with the middle and surnames, what nicknames you what, siblings or potential siblings… maybe just wait to see which one suits her?

I prefer [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] but both are nice. [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] makes me think of the state mostly. Not a negative association at all, just a strong one for me.

Already good advice re:

  • which flows to last name
  • which has better nicknames
  • which flows to middle (though flow to last name more important)

[name_f]My[/name_f] two cents is that of the mothers decide against a more classic/“mature” name (in this case Georgia) for a cuter one (with ie/y) ending right before baby born or once born - it’s harder to name a baby [name_f]Vera[/name_f] than Lily; [name_m]Simon[/name_m] than [name_u]Alfie[/name_u]. So [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] may be the winning name (it is strong, arty and fun!) but just take into account that the baby will be an adult for most of their lives, if there’s any of that bias going on. There may not be - but just something I’ve noticed a lot - the last min swing to a more cutesy option esp for girls.

I love [name_f]Georgia[/name_f]!

[name_f]My[/name_f] favourite is definitely [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] :gem:

Honestly [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] is absolutely gorgeous she’s spunky, bright, sparkly and has sweet summery rich undertones due to the association with [name_u]July[/name_u] as she is her birthstone. I picture long hot lazy summer nights, fireflies, red sunsets, sparkly ball gowns and bright jewels. [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] is just beautiful.

Definitely Ruby!! It has a warm cozy vibe
