Well, my partner and I find it sooooo hard to agree on names. We both work with kids so seem to have more we can rule out than rule in. She will have both our surnames, one syllable then 2.
Suggestions welcome and opinions on these:
[name_u]Christie[/name_u]/Christy
[name_u]Rowan[/name_u] (we are scottish so rhymes with now an)
Ailsa
[name_f]Elsie[/name_f]
[name_f]Muireann[/name_f]
I really like [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] for you it’s such a sweet happy name and works perfectly with the nickname trend that’s popular in [name_u]Britain[/name_u] currently. I like that it’s Scottish in origins with being a variant of [name_f]Elspeth[/name_f] which is perfect for you with you guys being Scottish. I also like the meaning ‘pledged to G-d’ that is such a great meaning.
I also like @Greyblue suggestion of [name_f]Effie[/name_f] and I think [name_f]Nell[/name_f] would be great choice for you also.
Thanks so much, I hadn’t looked into meanings and that is lovely. Its uncommon enough without being unusual which seems to have emerged as a criteria for us.
Thank you, il tally another one for [name_u]Rowan[/name_u].
[name_f]My[/name_f] OH is set on [name_u]Christy[/name_u] but I prefer it for a boy, so want yo save it incase!
Elsie is my favorite–so sweet! I also love the previous suggestion of [name_f]Mairead[/name_f] for you. You have a lovely list overall though, you really can’t go wrong!
