I’m getting closer to selecting my favorite girl’s name. I’d like to know which name you love best from this list:
[name_f]Violet[/name_f]*
[name_f]Godiva[/name_f] *
[name_f]India[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] *
[name_f]Demelza[/name_f]
Persimmon
[name_f]Alaska[/name_f]
Utopia
[name_f]Hermione[/name_f]
[name_f]Isabeau[/name_f]
[name_u]Rain[/name_u] *
[name_f]Eve[/name_f] *
[name_f]Luna[/name_f]
Seabrooke *
Ferelith
Merrivale
Also, if you have any more name suggestions inspired by the list above, please feel free to list them
Thanx
These are my current top contenders…i.e. I’m leaning towards the names: [name_f]Violet[/name_f], [name_f]Godiva[/name_f], [name_f]Eve[/name_f], [name_u]Rain[/name_u], [name_f]India[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f], Seabrooke…
I don’t know if you know this but [name_f]Godiva[/name_f] is a chocolate company and I just couldn’t see a baby being named [name_f]Godiva[/name_f]. I love [name_f]Violet[/name_f], [name_f]Eve[/name_f], and [name_f]Rose[/name_f]. That would be an interesting sibset.
I’m voting [name_f]India[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]. Team [name_f]India[/name_f]! I’m also really into [name_f]Luna[/name_f] lately (which is funny, because I used to loathe it) and I’m surprised by how much I like Seabrooke.
I wouldn’t use [name_f]Godiva[/name_f], Utopia, Persimmon or [name_u]Rain[/name_u].
[name_f]Violet[/name_f], [name_f]Eve[/name_f], [name_u]Rain[/name_u], and [name_f]Isabeau[/name_f] are the only names I could take seriously on a grown woman.
A couple of your [name_m]Favorite[/name_m] names are mine also, so maybe I’ll share a few more of my favourites! These first three I’ve made up (as far as I know…)
I love [name_f]Violet[/name_f], like [name_f]Eve[/name_f], [name_f]Rain[/name_f], [name_f]Luna[/name_f], and [name_f]Isabeau[/name_f], and I wouldn’t use [name_f]Godiva[/name_f], [name_f]Persimmon[/name_f], [name_f]Alaska[/name_f], [name_f]Utopia[/name_f] and Seabrook.
My choice would be [name_f]Hermione[/name_f] (possibly [name_f]Isabeau[/name_f] because of the combo [name_f]Isabeau[/name_f] [name_u]Ruby[/name_u]) but of your favourites something is drawing me to Seabrooke. I think it’s the imagery that I like, plus it’s quite a weird mix of extremely hippy and perfectly orthodox which your list as a whole seems to be. I’d love to meet a little Seabrooke. My second choice would be [name_f]Violet[/name_f].
Could you use [name_f]Godiva[/name_f] nn [name_f]Eve[/name_f]? I usually hate using full names as nicknames for other full names ([name_f]Olivia[/name_f] nn [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] for instance… bleeuh) but I think this works. I don’t love [name_f]Godiva[/name_f] but I’m starting to see the appeal.
Ferelith, Merrivale, [name_f]Demelza[/name_f] and Persimmon strike me as slightly too Game of Thrones, although they all have quite a nice sound to them. Your list has certainly grown on me, but one I still find utterly ridiculous is Utopia. [name_f]India[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f], without trying to create yet another [name_f]India[/name_f] argument, isn’t my thing because of the cultural appropriation (plus I know so many girls called [name_f]India[/name_f] in the UK, usually with dull parents trying to make some pseudo-bohemian statement, and with [name_f]Rose[/name_f] being such a filler name… I wouldn’t)
[name_u]Rain[/name_u], [name_f]Luna[/name_f] and [name_f]Alaska[/name_f] are all right. I don’t like or dislike any of them. I’m coming round to [name_f]Alaska[/name_f], for it’s imagery anyway.
Some I would suggest - Mayfair, [name_f]Atalanta[/name_f], [name_f]Ursula[/name_f], [name_f]Saffron[/name_f], [name_f]Holiday[/name_f], [name_u]Jersey[/name_u]?
My absolute favorite from your list is [name_f]Violet[/name_f]. I also like [name_f]Isabeau[/name_f], [name_f]Eve[/name_f], [name_f]Luna[/name_f], and [name_f]Alaska[/name_f].
Persimmon and Merrivale are also interesting but I probably wouldn’t use them as first names.
[name_f]Violet[/name_f]* - So pretty! It’s becoming more popular though, and most of these names are super unpopular.
[name_f]Godiva[/name_f] * - Like the chocolate company?
[name_f]India[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] * - It’s pretty, but I’m not a fan of double barrelled names.
[name_f]Demelza[/name_f] - Sounds a bit evil. Demons. It also reminds me of a word that I’m not comfortable writing on here
Persimmon - All I see is Pokemon and [name_m]Simon[/name_m]. [name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_f]Persephone[/name_f]?
[name_f]Alaska[/name_f] - [name_f]LOVE[/name_f]! This name is true perfections!
Utopia - It’s a lot to live up to, [name_f]IMO[/name_f].
[name_f]Hermione[/name_f] - [name_f]Love[/name_f], but as long as you’re ok with the [name_m]Harry[/name_m] [name_m]Potter[/name_m] association.
[name_f]Isabeau[/name_f] - Sounds (honestly and I know it’s not) like a boy’s name because of the [name_m]Beau[/name_m] part. [name_f]Isobel[/name_f]?
[name_u]Rain[/name_u] * - Ok, I prefer the [name_f]Raine[/name_f]/[name_f]Rayne[/name_f] spelling -a little girlier and a little less object that represents sadness
[name_f]Eve[/name_f] * - This is pretty! Are you sure it’s unique enough though? (same as [name_f]Violet[/name_f])
[name_f]Luna[/name_f] - Pretty, but not my personal fave. Idk why, there’s just something I dislike about luna.
Seabrooke * - too wordy.
Ferelith - [name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_u]Meredith[/name_u]?
Merrivale - Sweet, reminds me of a medieval fair though.
I wouldn’t use [name_f]Godiva[/name_f] or Utopia under any circumstances. I love [name_f]Eve[/name_f] and [name_f]Rose[/name_f] (not a fan of [name_f]India[/name_f]) and while Seabrooke conveys a nice image, I can’t see it on a person. I’d go with [name_f]Eve[/name_f], [name_f]Rose[/name_f], or [name_u]Rain[/name_u].

My favorites are : [name_f]Alaska[/name_f] , [name_f]Isabeau[/name_f] , [name_f]Eve[/name_f] & [name_u]Rain[/name_u] .
I love [name_f]India[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]! and [name_f]Violet[/name_f] too one thing to think about: will any of these names get your baby teased? [name_f]Godiva[/name_f] reminds me of chocolate, so you mind wanna reconsider that. I honestly [name_f]LOVE[/name_f] [name_f]India[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] tho!
Thanx for everyone’s feedback & preference vote It’s really interesting to read all your responses. I also enjoy knowing why some people prefer one name over another or find a name objectionable. Cheers xx :)!!
PS And many thanx for the new name suggestions too !!
I think one of the reasons I can’t like Persimmon, despite loving the fruit and the smell of spices and wintry air that it evokes, is the “purse” sound, like pursing your lips together. But I [name_f]LOVE[/name_f] [name_f]Cinnamon[/name_f], which has a similar feel/sound.
I think your true love was [name_f]Alaska[/name_f] in the beginning so I’m going to vote [name_f]Alaska[/name_f] [name_u]Rain[/name_u] or [name_f]Alaska[/name_f] [name_f]Luna[/name_f].
