Back again for more input from the nameberry community
We were originally strongly considering [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] [name_u]Jean[/name_u] (which I love) but [name_u]Jean[/name_u] is my mum’s middle name and we are worried it might cause some drama or force our hand to pick a name from my husband’s side for baby number 2… so we have decided to pick something a bit less controversial.
Which do you prefer?
[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] [name_f]Eve[/name_f]
[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] [name_f]Joy[/name_f]
[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f]
Also, we are not a religious family - do you guys find [name_f]Eve[/name_f]/[name_f]Joy[/name_f]/[name_f]Grace[/name_f] to be too biblical? In my mind they can be either biblical or just general names but I would love to know your thoughts!
Our alternate name is either:
[name_f]Penelope[/name_f] [name_f]Joy[/name_f] or [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] (leaning towards the latter just because [name_u]Penny[/name_u] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] has a lovely flow, but I also love the name [name_f]Joy[/name_f] as it is less common - it was on my first name list but hubby vetoed it)
We are going to make a final decision when she is born but are trying to narrow it down to 2 main choices. The other names on our short list are: [name_f]Celeste[/name_f] [name_f]Dawn[/name_f], [name_u]Madison[/name_u] [name_f]Dawn[/name_f] or [name_u]Madison[/name_u] [name_f]Rose[/name_f].
I prefer [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] [name_f]Joy[/name_f] as I prefer [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] as a name, but of your [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] combos, I think I like [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] [name_f]Joy[/name_f] best
I like [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] and [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] [name_f]Joy[/name_f] as combos. They flow the best to my ear.
But I have to say that [name_f]Celeste[/name_f] [name_f]Dawn[/name_f] or [name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Celeste[/name_f] would be my picks! [name_f]Celeste[/name_f] is one of my favourite names nn Cellie, Cessy, [name_f]LeeLee[/name_f] or Lest, and [name_f]Eve[/name_f] is timeless perfection.
(I don’t like [name_u]Madison[/name_u], but [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] is great.)
I like [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] best. This flows best for me and is a lovely name. I also like [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] (I usually avoid [name_f]Rose[/name_f] in the middle but I do love it with [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] and prefer it over [name_f]Joy[/name_f]). I find these names very generally used and don’t consider them ‘too biblical’. [name_f]Celeste[/name_f] is also lovely though I’m not a fan of [name_f]Dawn[/name_f].
So I am in the minority here with [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] which I hope doesn’t deter you when I say [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] [name_f]Eve[/name_f] is one of the most gorgeous combos I’ve seen in a while on here. It’s so simple but that’s really what makes it so great. [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] [name_f]Eve[/name_f] a has a touch of timeless elegance on the inside but deep down in a layer no one else can see she’s ruthless, a single flame waiting do be doused in gasoline, a tigress hidden from view- watching, waiting for her prey…
Sorry that got a bit outta hand lol. Whenever I look at names I can sometimes get a mental image, it doesn’t happen with all the names I see- (especially a full on image like that) only for a select few and when I looked at [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] [name_f]Eve[/name_f] it was immediate.
Now my second choice will have to agree with what @elosiet mentioned; [name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Celeste[/name_f], another timeless combo. A fleeting flash feeling of intelligence, a telescope, & a huge vast array of shining stars against a backdrop of deep blue.
My third will have to be [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] [name_f]Joy[/name_f]. I get an image of bouncy curls, a dark magenta coat, & bright yellow rain boots.
[name_u]Madison[/name_u] is horrid. I hate the name with a burning passion. [name_f]Every[/name_f] single [name_u]Madison[/name_u] I have know in my life (and I have known quite a lot) ended up being a two faced liar, jealous with envy and nothing but selfishness lived in their hearts.
I prefer [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f]. I love [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f], but to be honest I’m not a fan of any of the middle names. I don’t think [name_f]Joy[/name_f], [name_f]Eve[/name_f] or [name_f]Grace[/name_f] are very biblical in my opinion. They can be of course, but that’s not the first thing that comes to mind.
