After a lot of thought, DH and i decided to go ahead and use [name]Sawyer[/name] [name]Grace[/name] for our little girl. It was a something we discussed at length because of the fact that most do see it as very masculine, but we decided that we really loved it and it was perfect for our girl. After all this, a co-worker who had seen my name list sitting on my desk asked what we decided to go with so i told her. She laughed and said, " Wow, really? That sounds terrible with your last name. I hope you’re ready to pay for her therapy. " This particular co-worker is known for being a little on the b*tchy side, but it really bothered me that she said that. SO, what i would like to know is if there is something wrong with her full name. Is there something we missed or overlooked that is really awful ? Full name - [name]Sawyer[/name] [name]Grace[/name] Waye. Thank you everyone.
I like [name]Sawyer[/name] for a girl. It’s super cute!
I wish I could punch your co-worker for being such a douchebag.
Huh? I think it looks fine. Actually it’s really nice… I like it! But to play Devil’s Advocate…
Maybe [name]Sawyer[/name] Waye sounds like a street? Hmm… maybe S.G. Waye is a little like Segway? Nah.
I’m trying hard here and I honestly can’t see any problem. Release the berries !!! LOL.
It’s a sweet name, and I like it better than I did before I knew your surname. There’s an aesthetically pleasing balance to it. Your co-worker is rude.
You can always go with her middle name [name]Grace[/name] if you are unhappy with the name. I read many mean /negative things on this site about my daughters name, after a few weeks of it I wanted to change her name but I realized everyone has there opinion and some people are gonna like it and some are not.
What an awful thing to say! I think it’s a lovely combination and it balances well with your surname in my opinion. [name]Sawyer[/name] [name]Grace[/name] is just the right amount of rambunctious while still being sweet and adorable. Congrats on your choice don’t let anyone take away from your joy!
Your co-worker sounds like a bit of an asshole. Sorry for the language. I think [name]Sawyer[/name] [name]Grace[/name], while not everyone’s cup of tea, is a beautiful name! I actually prefer [name]Sawyer[/name] for a girl. I think [name]Sawyer[/name] [name]Grace[/name] is very sweet! If it’s what you love, use it.
[name]Don[/name]'t let rude bullies like her discourage you from using your dream name!
Sounds a bit like, “Saw your way.” Which yeah… sounds a little weird. But if you love it, go with it.
I am a fan of spunky, trendy names paired with classics like [name]Grace[/name]. If you love it then use it. There’s nothing wrong with it and I agree your coworker is a B.
The name sounds great with your last name and [name]Sawyer[/name] it’s just adorable on a lil girl ! [name]Don[/name]'t listen to anyone.Agree with the previous, your coworker is a b*****.
[name]How[/name] rude! While [name]Sawyer[/name] [name]Grace[/name] isn’t my style, I certainly don’t think it’s going to be the cause of therapy.
[name]Sawyer[/name] [name]Grace[/name] sounds just fine with your last name. I’d ignore your co-workers opinion from now on, obviously she’s just rude.
Well, I’ve got a bit of a stutter and I did trip a bit over [name]Sawyer[/name] Waye, but that being said, it’s not BAD. [name]Sawyer[/name] isn’t my cup of tea, but I can see the charm of the name and if thats what you’ve picked for your baby then you stick to your guns because its YOUR baby!
Oh heavens all the stick we got for our eldest name, are you kidding me! Everyone say that if you don’t tell anyone until after the baby is born and officially named no one will say a negative thing, not true! We got told things like is it too late to change it? oh thats such a SAD name and even a few references of how it didn’t match MY surname (lucky he’s got his DADS surname then isn’t it!?)
People are SO rude about names. When you get your own baby, YOU name them if my choices are so bad. Hmpf!
In one ear out the other mama! [name]Sawyer[/name] [name]Grace[/name] is as good a name as any and if it fits your babygirl then what does one silly womans opinion matter!?
I believe I already expressed my undying love for this perfect name on your original thread about it, and [name]Sawyer[/name] [name]Grace[/name] Waye is so perfect! I’m dropping dead. You and your husband and beautiful, smart, clever people for giving your daughter the most lovely name in the whole world and your co-worker is a dick. Screw them. You love it. (Because it’s amazing.) And that’s all that counts. Your daughter will love her perfect and wonderful name and I am so excited that there will be a tiny human in the world named [name]Sawyer[/name] [name]Grace[/name] Waye. Such a lovely name should belong to at least one person.
Some people just get their kicks out of putting others down. I was telling a cute story about my niece at work one day, and a co-worker had to chime in about how horrible her name is. I was really put off by that because it was irrelevant and unnecessarily rude. Not to mention I had no influence on her name (which is actually quite lovely, but I digress…)
My point is, someone will always find something awful to say if they want to. [name]Sawyer[/name] [name]Grace[/name] is a perfectly fine name that will in no way cause your daughter to need therapy. And if she ever doesn’t like the sound of [name]Sawyer[/name] Waye, or thinks [name]Sawyer[/name] is too tomboyish for her, she could always use [name]Sawyer[/name] [name]Grace[/name] together, as I love the combo.
I agree with this.
Wow your co worker is so rude!
I don’t love the combo to be honest. I think sawyer for a girl just sounds a bit odd. But if you love it that’s all that matters!
Yeah. [name]Sawyer[/name] Waye is a bit too wordy for me.
I think [name]Sawyer[/name] is a really nice and unique name for a girl or a boy. Ignore this rude woman and be proud with your choice.
To be honest, it’s not my style. But is it an awful name that will require therapy for your child? No. Its nowhere close to being an awful name. It’s not like you’re naming your kid [name]Princess[/name] Poopfart or something.
As much as I personally don’t like the boys names on girls trend its not like little [name]Sawyer[/name] will be alone. She’ll probably know lots of girl Addisons, [name]Avery[/name]'s, [name]Emerson[/name]'s, [name]Morgan[/name]'s etc.
