Getting the "Flow" right

[name]Hi[/name] Berries,
I’m after some inspiration for middle names, I just can’t seem to get the “flow” happening. We are expecting our 2nd daughter in [name]November[/name]. Her sisters name is [name]Penny[/name]-lee and our last name is Dutch [name]Van[/name] Vliet. My husband likes [name]Asta[/name] (meaning starlike, love) and I like [name]Sunniva[/name] (meaning sun gift). I just haven’t found a middle name for eaither name that I feel works.
I’d also like to add that this baby girl is a surviving twin and I would like names with positive meanings please  any help would be greatly appreciated

Maybe it would help if you could help with the pronunciation of that last name? hahaha!

I like both [name]Asta[/name] and [name]Sunniva[/name] though! They’re such exotic, delicate choices.

[name]Asta[/name] [name]Sunniva[/name] [name]Van[/name] Vliet has excellent flow (provided the accent in [name]Sunniva[/name] is on the 2nd syllable).

[name]Both[/name] of those names are really nice, but they seem mismatched with penny-lee. [name]How[/name] about
[name]Maisie[/name]
[name]Hadley[/name]
[name]Liv[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name]
[name]Nyla[/name]
[name]Ruby[/name]

Best of luck! If you do decide you like the exotic choices best, don’t worry about it. Sibsets shouldn’t be your biggest worry.

Lol [name]Van[/name] Vliet is pronounced “van” “va-leet” and I had not actually thought about putting the 2 names together. It does sound really exotic. I realise that they are not the same style as penny but I just can’t seem to find anything else I like ATM. And if we use [name]Sunniva[/name] then she could get [name]Sunnie[/name] or [name]Niva[/name] or [name]Eva[/name] or [name]Evie[/name] as NN which is closer to penny in style

I like [name]Sunniva[/name] best, for the reasons you say. And the ‘v’ matches van vliet rather nicely.

[name]How[/name] about

[name]Sunniva[/name] [name]Joy[/name]
[name]Sunniva[/name] [name]Claire[/name]
[name]Sunniva[/name] [name]Myrna[/name]
[name]Sunniva[/name] [name]Pearl[/name]
[name]Sunniva[/name] [name]Lux[/name]
[name]Sunniva[/name] [name]Lucy[/name]
[name]Sunniva[/name] [name]Faith[/name]
[name]Sunniva[/name] [name]Maude[/name]
[name]Sunniva[/name] [name]Belle[/name]

I think one syllable works a little better, if I’m honest.

[name]Sunniva[/name] [name]Van[/name] Vliet has quite a lot of v sounds all smushed together for me… I think it’s better as a middle, because she won’t be introducing herself with all those v’s! But I totally think you can go with [name]Asta[/name] [name]Sunniva[/name], it actually works very well.

If you go with [name]Asta[/name], here are some choices. (I like longer middles with such a short and sweet first name)

[name]Asta[/name] [name]Cecilia[/name]
[name]Asta[/name] [name]Clementine[/name] (has some of the feel of [name]Penny[/name]-[name]Lee[/name] maybe?)
[name]Asta[/name] [name]Susannah[/name]
[name]Asta[/name] [name]Francesca[/name]
[name]Asta[/name] [name]Gabrielle[/name]
[name]Asta[/name] [name]Aurelia[/name]
[name]Asta[/name] [name]Lavender[/name]
[name]Asta[/name] [name]Louise[/name]/[name]Louisa[/name]

My favorite is combining the two, though. [name]Asta[/name] [name]Sunniva[/name] is stunning.

What about [name]Sunniva[/name] Astor/[name]Aster[/name]? Similar to [name]Asta[/name], but flows better.

The more I say [name]Asta[/name] [name]Sunniva[/name] [name]Van[/name] Vliet the more I like it. My DH is away for a few days but when he gets home ill be running it by him  I am excited, thanks ladies

DH is home and iv mentioned the name to him [name]Asta[/name] [name]Sunniva[/name] [name]Van[/name] Vliet and he thinks its too much, but I really like it now :frowning: Our DD [name]Penny[/name] can even say [name]Asta[/name] and it sounds so sweet the way she says it, bless her.
