Getting to Mira?

Ideas for getting to [name_f]Mira[/name_f] as a nickname? [name_f]Mirabel[/name_f] won’t work with our last name… [name_f]Mariella[/name_f]? [name_f]Mirielle[/name_f]?

Yes! Its a stretch, but it could still work

Other suggestions would be:

Is there a reason you can’t just use [name_f]Mira[/name_f]? I think it’s lovely and very underrated on its own.

Thanks @sodallas3! I like [name_f]Amira[/name_f] a lot, and hadn’t even thought of [name_f]Elmira[/name_f]!

I have a short name personally that I don’t like and have always wished I had other options to go by… If DD hates [name_f]Mira[/name_f], with a longer name she can always use the full name or another nickname.

[name_f]Mira[/name_f] is really sweet! I adore [name_f]Mirielle[/name_f], actually, so that easily gets my vote. If not that, I think [name_f]Miriam[/name_f] or [name_f]Mireille[/name_f] (mee-[name_u]RAY[/name_u]) are lovely, as well as [name_f]Amira[/name_f]. If [name_f]Mirabel[/name_f] doesn’t work, does [name_f]Mirabella[/name_f] also not work? I think [name_f]Mirabella[/name_f]'s adorable.

[name_f]Mirabella[/name_f] wouldn’t work, but maybe [name_f]Mirella[/name_f]? It’s the bel- sound that we need to avoid.

My concern with [name_f]Mirielle[/name_f] is that it will be confused for [name_f]Mireille[/name_f], which I just can’t bring myself to like, and lead to constant spelling/pronunciation issues.

I love [name_f]Mireille[/name_f] and [name_f]Mirielle[/name_f]. [name_f]Mira[/name_f] could always go by [name_f]Mia[/name_f] if she wanted a nn. What about [name_f]Mireya[/name_f]?

Ok bit of a stretch but [name_f]Esmeralda[/name_f] and [name_f]Marilla[/name_f] came to mind…

[name_f]Mirabelle[/name_f]/[name_f]Mirabel[/name_f] is the most straightforward way to get to [name_f]Mira[/name_f], [name_f]IMO[/name_f].

I am a clearly unbiased fan of the name [name_f]Mira[/name_f]. :stuck_out_tongue:

This site’s search function is very helpful, if you just search for girl names starting with “Mir-” it gives a lot of options. I’d suggest [name_f]Miranda[/name_f], [name_f]Miriam[/name_f], [name_f]Mirelle[/name_f]. Or ending in -mira - [name_f]Amira[/name_f], [name_f]Emira[/name_f], [name_f]Kasmira[/name_f], [name_f]Ramira[/name_f], [name_f]Samira[/name_f]. A bit more unusual - Damira, Casimira, Vladimira.

[name_f]Miriam[/name_f], [name_f]Miranda[/name_f], [name_f]Amira[/name_f], [name_f]Mirabeau[/name_f], Casimira, [name_f]Camira[/name_f], [name_f]Mirelle[/name_f], [name_f]Mirella[/name_f], [name_f]Marina[/name_f], [name_f]Samira[/name_f], [name_f]Temira[/name_f], [name_f]Minerva[/name_f], [name_u]Marian[/name_u], [name_f]Mariana[/name_f], [name_f]Marietta[/name_f], [name_f]Mariella[/name_f], [name_f]Madira[/name_f] / [name_f]Madeira[/name_f], [name_f]Mahira[/name_f], Miraline, Miralina, Marilina, [name_f]Marisa[/name_f], [name_f]Mariska[/name_f], [name_f]Marisol[/name_f], [name_f]Margaret[/name_f], [name_f]Marguerite[/name_f], [name_f]Maribel[/name_f], Maribela, Mirabeth, [name_f]Maribeth[/name_f], [name_f]Marianne[/name_f], [name_f]Marianna[/name_f], [name_f]Maricela[/name_f], [name_f]Mariposa[/name_f], [name_f]Marita[/name_f].

I think [name_f]Mira[/name_f] very pretty on its own.
Sometimes just keeping it simple works for the best.

[name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_f]Mireya[/name_f]! [name_u]Haven[/name_u]'t heard it before. Thanks!!!
