I prefer [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f].
I know an adorable 5-year old girl named [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f] who has Downs, she’s the sweetest thing in the world, all smiles and hugs and fairytales ^^

Other long forms with a less unwieldy feel:
[name_f]Winona[/name_f]
[name_f]Winola[/name_f]
[name_f]Winslet[/name_f]
[name_f]Edwina[/name_f]
Alwen/[name_f]Olwen[/name_f]
[name_f]Anwen[/name_f]
[name_f]Arianwen[/name_f]
[name_f]Elowen[/name_f]
[name_f]Rowena[/name_f]
[name_f]Winsome[/name_f]
[name_f]Winter[/name_f]

For me, [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] has a magical quality which the more serious [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f] lacks so I cast my vote for this Welsh gem. [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f] always reminds me of the [name_m]German[/name_m] [name_m]Kaiser[/name_m] and it’s not a pleasant memory. I also think [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] is a more intuitive nickname choice for [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] than [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f] as well.

Ditto this, through and through.

I prefer [name_f]Winifred[/name_f]. I don’t find much appealing about [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f]. I like pp’s idea of [name_u]Winter[/name_u]. I’d also suggest [name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f] - if you’re familiar with The Wonder Years, [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] [name_m]Cooper[/name_m]'s full name was [name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f].

I love the suggestions of [name_f]Winola[/name_f] and [name_f]Winslet[/name_f]! [name_f]Winola[/name_f] is perfection; You can have a [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] or a [name_f]Nola[/name_f]! I also would like to suggest [name_f]Nolwin[/name_f] {and ditto} : )

I love [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f] as a whole name, i think it’s adorable on a little girl and pretty and classic on an adult. I also love the nicknames it offers, [name_f]Willa[/name_f], and [name_f]Mina[/name_f]. [name_f]Winnifred[/name_f] is cute, but the fred sound is too masculine imo and I can’t shake the [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] the Pooh association haha

I love [name_f]Winnie[/name_f]! [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] is really the only long version that I like. I would use it in a heartbeat if my husband liked it. [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] is uncommon, but not unheard of. [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f] is on the edge of over doing it (at least for me).

[name_f]Elowen[/name_f]

Wintry
Brownwen / [name_f]Bronwyn[/name_f]
[name_u]Winter[/name_u]
[name_u]Wynne[/name_u]
[name_f]Guinevere[/name_f]
Winna
[name_f]Rhonwen[/name_f]

[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Winnie[/name_f]!!! [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] is a beautiful name, and my favourite of the 2, even though I like both. I think the suggestion of [name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f] is a really gorgeous one!

Out of your two options, I liked [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] most, although I keep getting it mixed up with [name_m]Wilfred[/name_m] in my head, for some reason. I really like -wenna/-wen names that a lot of pps have suggested, as a way of getting to [name_f]Winnie[/name_f], my favourite being [name_f]Rowena[/name_f]/Rowenna, and I’d also suggest Lowenna and Sowenna.

I’d go with either [name_f]Arwen[/name_f], [name_f]Elowen[/name_f], or [name_u]Winter[/name_u].

So I’m kinda weird and I like Winry. It’s a character from Full Metal Alchemist. Though out of your choices I like [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] best.

I really love [name_f]Winifred[/name_f]!

I chose [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] but my favourite name to get to [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] is [name_f]Winona[/name_f]. It is underused, classy and [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] is a natural nn.

I don’t like either, sorry. I love [name_f]Winona[/name_f] though.

[name_f]Winifred[/name_f] by a mile! I also second [name_u]Winter[/name_u] and [name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f] - but [name_f]Bronwen[/name_f]/[name_f]Bronwyn[/name_f] would also make a lovely idea, as would any ‘wen’ name.
