[name_f]My[/name_f] favourites:

[name_u]Sunny[/name_u] - she’s so bright, happy and carefree! i imagine a little girl with a big smile who takes your hand to run through the garden.

[name_f]Autumn[/name_f] - she has such a warm cozy vibe, beanies, gloves and cuddling in front of the fire. I imagine an [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] to be a bit more reserved, very creative and curious

[name_f]Willa[/name_f] - spunky and lively is always how i envision a little [name_f]Willa[/name_f]. A girl with a real zest for life and adventure!

[name_u]Ruby[/name_u] - I imagine a [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] to be calm and caring, someone who likes reading till the crack of dawn and making homemade jam.

[name_f]Lavinia[/name_f] - I think she has such a cool sound! She’s sophisticated but not too over the top and has awesome nickname options, my favourite being [name_f]Viv[/name_f], [name_f]Vivi[/name_f] and [name_u]Vinnie[/name_u].

the ones i associate most with you:
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f]
[name_f]Mae[/name_f]
[name_f]Juliet[/name_f] / [name_f]Juliette[/name_f]
[name_f]Caroline[/name_f]

Take or leave as always:

Love: Adelaide, Charlotte, Ella, Rose, Marianne, Anne, Anna, Vera, Esther, Mary, Ida, Willa, Frances, Cecily, Florence, Isabel (though too popular), Amy, and Faith.

Like May not Mae, and would change Elizabeth to Elisabeth.

These are all bright, literary names - with a lot of energy and vim.

Like: Madeleine, Autumn, Sarah, Margaret (and its versions), Juliet, Clara, Cora, Edie (would use for Edith), Evelyn, Lucy, Delilah, Virginia, Georgia, Sophie, and Emma.

Still vintage or ‘classic’ and pretty but don’t have quite the same sparkle for me (though I do appreciate the Madeleine spelling!). I really like Irene but met an Irenie once (full name) and I think I prefer it, less severe.

Not keen on: Lillian (too earnest), Joanna (much prefer Josephine or other Anna smooshes), Lavinia, Lucilla (prefer Lydia, Luella or Marilla), Eudora (prefer other Dora names), Caroline (better on paper than in real life), Miriam, Rebekah (too punchy and pointy), Ruby (cool but too cute for me), Vivienne (unless the strong French ending, but even then too harsh for me), and Sunny is a nickname to me - for Sunday, Aurelia, Alison etc.

Edit: excuse all the edits - kept remembering names I hadn’t included. Also, for a top 20, I would prob take for eg 14 loves, 4 likes and 2 not sure/not keen just to make it a stylistically interesting and unexpected list. My lists here are based on names I would use on a child but that’s not the only reason to curate names, often not the main reason at all!

I’ll give you some thoughts

forevers

[name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] - sleek , elegant and regal - plenty of nickname options
[name_f]Caroline[/name_f] - strong, elegant and warm, with a pleasing sharpness
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] - literary, gentle but tough, full of understated elegance. The con would be that using [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] and [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] together would bother me even though their both faves of yours
[name_f]Delilah[/name_f] - light, bright, sassy and cool - I guess the con would be that it’s a bit more ‘modern’ in vibe than some of your others
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] - solid, classic and full of great nn potential.
[name_f]Ella[/name_f] - simple, soft and charming. Nice meaning too!
[name_f]Lillian[/name_f] - sleek, sophisticated and sparky
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f] - gorgeous, strong and literary - love it
[name_f]Mae[/name_f] / [name_f]May[/name_f] - sweet and simple and warm.
[name_f]Marianne[/name_f] - clunky and cool. A little dusty and yet fresh at the same time. For me, it’s tied to Normal People if that matters to you
[name_f]Sarah[/name_f] - it’s solid and nice enough, doesn’t quite sing for me, but maybe that’s because I love the variants so much more?

new crushes

[name_u]Anne[/name_u] - simple and literary. I think [name_f]Marianne[/name_f] feels more you though?
[name_f]Autumn[/name_f] - warm with great, cosy imagery
[name_f]Clara[/name_f] - bright, light and clear - love this
[name_f]Edie[/name_f] - charming and sweet with plenty of spark. [name_f]My[/name_f] only qualm is that it sounds like the acronym ED which might not be a problem at all for you
[name_f]Esther[/name_f] - pretty warm and strong. Nice meaning.
[name_f]Eudora[/name_f] - kind of magical - bold and interesting with a delightful meaning
[name_u]Florence[/name_u] - sleek with an understated elegance. [name_u]Love[/name_u] this
[name_f]Irene[/name_f] - I go back and forth - sometimes I find it clunky and harsh; sometimes bright and cool. I think maybe my issue is that I prefer [name_f]Irina[/name_f], Irini/Eirene?
[name_f]Lavinia[/name_f] - sleek, elegant and sharp. [name_f]Pretty[/name_f] cool. ‘Lav’ as the first syllable might be a bit awkward, depending on where you are. Not a huge con though?
[name_f]Lucilla[/name_f] - zippy and fun, yet elegant at the same time
[name_f]Margaret[/name_f] - strong and solid, nice nickname potential, but I personally find it a bit clunky and heavy
[name_f]Mary[/name_f] - literary and timeless - would love to meet a little [name_f]Mary[/name_f]
[name_f]Vera[/name_f] - sharp and cool, but it is a bit too old lady for my tastes. It could grow on me though, I think

like

[name_f]Cecily[/name_f] - light, bright and poetic
[name_f]Emma[/name_f] - it’s like [name_u]James[/name_u] for girls. Blah for me. Objectively though, it’s a solid, versatile name and fits in with [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], [name_f]Sarah[/name_f], [name_u]Lilian[/name_u], [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] and [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] on your forever fave list
[name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] - sharp and cool. Which pronunciation do you use? That’s my only con I think, in that I’ve heard ev-lyn, eev-lyn and ev-uh-lyn :person_shrugging:
[name_f]Frances[/name_f] - clunky cute with fun nn potential
[name_f]Ida[/name_f] - international and bright. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you use Ee-duh or Eye-duh?
[name_f]Juliet[/name_f] - sleek, literary and warm, with elegance and sass
[name_f]Miriam[/name_f] - strong and gentle with a distinctive look! And cool nicknames!
[name_f]Rebekah[/name_f] - sparky and strong with a bit of kick
[name_f]Rose[/name_f] - elegant and sophisticate
[name_u]Ruby[/name_u] - bubbly and bright
[name_f]Willa[/name_f] - literary, zippy and rugged

need to be loved again!

[name_f]Amy[/name_f] - warm, lovely, simple and friendly
[name_f]Anna[/name_f] - strong, international and versatile
[name_f]Cora[/name_f] - sharp, vintage and sweet
[name_f]Faith[/name_f] - warm, meaningful and lovely
[name_f]Georgia[/name_f] - solid and strong with a hint of style
[name_f]Isabel[/name_f] - sleek with a fashionable vibe
[name_f]Joanna[/name_f] - I find it a bit heavy and meh, sorry
[name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] - elegant, sophisticated and charming
[name_f]Sophie[/name_f] - light, sweet and wise
[name_u]Sunny[/name_u] - bright and cheerful. [name_f]Susannah[/name_f] ‘Sunny’ feels like it could fit on your list
[name_f]Virginia[/name_f] - sharp and literary. Though the meaning puts me off a little
[name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] - stylish and sleek. Not a personal fave, but it works

And… if I had free rein to make your list, these are the ones I’d choose:

Summary
  1. [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]

I really love all of these names. They’re so classic and sweet!

new crushes from most liked to least liked: clara, florence, autumn, anne, vera, edie, mary, margaret, lavinia, lucilla, irene, esther, eudora

I think clara, florence, edie and autumn could move to your favorites list! They have the same vibe and style. I prefer Lucy to Lucilla, but you could have Lucilla nn Lucy. Same with Marianne/Anne.

From this list, I really love miriam, cecily, ida and juliette/juliet for you! I think Miriam nn Miri is adoable, and has similar sounds to Marianne/Mary but is a tad bit brighter.

need to be loved again most liked to least liked: madeleine, isabel, joanna, sophie, sunny, cora, anna, georgia, vivienne, amy, faith and virginia

Gosh, I feel this list! Madeline and Isobel were forever loves for me for the LONGEST time, along with Sophie. You might like Johanna in place of Joanna, and you could have the nn Anne/Anna. Your list is gorgeous - my favourites are [name_u]Ruby[/name_u], [name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f], [name_f]Caroline[/name_f], [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f], [name_f]Isabel[/name_f] and [name_f]Cora[/name_f]. I’m so in love with the sweet, classic vibes! I’m especially glad to see [name_f]Amy[/name_f] - as the greatest [name_m]Little[/name_m] Women sister (this is a hill I am prepared to die on) and a sweet enduring classic, she deserves so much more love than she gets.

Such a darling list! I think it could be sweet to incorporate your “need to be loved again” names as middles! [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f], [name_f]Marianne[/name_f] [name_f]Faith[/name_f], [name_f]May[/name_f] [name_f]Joanna[/name_f], [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_u]Sunny[/name_u], and [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] [name_f]Amy[/name_f] are some examples.

Here’s my thoughts on your forevers:

[name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] – I know it is a vintage name, but it feels quite trendy at the moment. That isn’t necessarily a bad thing, just something I noticed. It feels quite summery, probably because it reminds me of lemonade.

[name_f]Caroline[/name_f] – This is a really sweet, classic name. It feels homey in a [name_u]Southern[/name_u] charm kind of way. I think the nickname [name_f]Carrie[/name_f] is lovely as well.

[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] – Oh, I really wish I could love [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], but something about it sounds stuck-up to me. However, I do think it goes really well with the rest of your list.

[name_f]Delilah[/name_f] – The character in the Bible turns me off, but that may not be an issue for you. Aside from that, the sound is quite nice. I get free-spirited hippy vibes, probably because of “Hey There Delilah.”

[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] – I truly feel like this is the perfect timeless name! [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is forever fresh and lovely! She is perfect both in general and on your list.

[name_f]Ella[/name_f] – such a sweet, beautiful name. I feel like [name_f]Ella[/name_f] gets overlooked on nameberry, but I much prefer it to [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] and [name_f]Stella[/name_f]. It is simple yet elegant, and I really love the [name_f]Cinderella[/name_f] connection. I do personally know a ton of Ellas, but I wouldn’t let that turn you off it.

[name_f]Lillian[/name_f] – this is such a classy and beautiful name! I love it used in full, but I’m personally not the biggest [name_f]Lily[/name_f] fan, and I would worry that a little [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] would always get “Lily.” Also, [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] and [name_f]Irene[/name_f] always sound like the perfect sisters to me!

[name_f]Lucy[/name_f] – Oh, she is just the sweetest! I love the [name_f]Narnia[/name_f] connection, and just how fun and cheerful the name sounds!

[name_f]May[/name_f] – I chose [name_f]May[/name_f] over [name_f]Mae[/name_f] because I think it looks more complete, and also is how the month is spelled, which makes it seem like the “right” way. I adore the name [name_f]May[/name_f], and would use it in a heartbeat if it weren’t the nickname my family uses for me! It is vintage and yet still fresh and playful!

[name_f]Marianne[/name_f] – I love the [name_f]Jane[/name_f] [name_u]Austen[/name_u] connection, and I think the name has a very homespun, cottagecore feeling to it! I also really enjoy [name_u]Marian[/name_u] as an alternative!

[name_f]Sarah[/name_f] – I’ve known so many, so the name has lost most of its charm. Objectively speaking, I think it is a good Biblical name with a sweet sound to it.

Incorporating your new loves/likes:
[name_u]Perfect[/name_u] with your list – [name_u]Anne[/name_u], [name_f]Clara[/name_f], [name_f]Esther[/name_f], [name_f]Irene[/name_f], [name_f]Margaret[/name_f], [name_f]Mary[/name_f], [name_f]Vera[/name_f], [name_f]Emma[/name_f], [name_f]Juliet[/name_f], [name_f]Rose[/name_f]
Good with your list – [name_u]Florence[/name_u], [name_f]Lucilla[/name_f], [name_f]Cecily[/name_f], [name_f]Ida[/name_f], [name_f]Miriam[/name_f]
Okay with your list – [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u], [name_f]Frances[/name_f], [name_f]Rebekah[/name_f], [name_u]Ruby[/name_u]
Perhaps too unusual – [name_f]Edie[/name_f], [name_f]Eudora[/name_f], [name_f]Lavinia[/name_f], [name_f]Willa[/name_f]
Perhaps too modern – [name_f]Autumn[/name_f]

I never make comments this long, but your list feels very much like an extention of my own! I hope my comments have been helpful to you!

Faves of mine are:
[name_f]Caroline[/name_f] - I love this name’s literary ties (I was a [name_m]Little[/name_m] House series fanatic as a kid!) and sweet, springtime feeling. Lots of cute nicknames!
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] - The name to love if you’re a nicknamer.
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f] - Short, sweet, literary… she’s great.
[name_f]May[/name_f] - Sooo warm and delightful. Alcottian and seasonal! This name feels so fresh to me, and it’s so timeless.
[name_f]Marianne[/name_f] - I’ve recently been in love with this name! She’s a perfect double name, has cute nickname potential, and is—again—literary and classic. [name_f]Marnie[/name_f]!
[name_f]Sarah[/name_f] - She’s so sharp and sweet. I love saying this name! Works well as the first half of a double barrel, too.

[name_f]Esther[/name_f] - She’s as sweet and soft as a bunny rabbit baby. Melts me!
[name_u]Florence[/name_u] - One of the greatest names of all time, I think. Equal parts feisty, whip-smart, delicate, and grounded. She’s such a little green-grove gem.
[name_f]Lavinia[/name_f] - [name_u]Poetic[/name_u] and special! I love the vivacious V in her, and I think she could work on any kind of girl.
[name_f]Margaret[/name_f] - Utterly gorgeous and another trove of fun with nicknames. She’s classic but so very underused lately.
[name_f]Mary[/name_f] - [name_u]Amazing[/name_u] literary, poetic, historical, bright little name. Yes!!

[name_f]Cecily[/name_f] - She is sooo cool. I really enjoy the fervor and flounce of this really concise name.
[name_f]Frances[/name_f] - One that sits high on my list!! [name_f]Franny[/name_f]! She’s gorgeous. And so much fun on a modern kiddo.
[name_f]Rose[/name_f] - What a dainty and thorny little name. Especially as a first, I think she’s so bookish and smart.

[name_f]Amy[/name_f] - Oh, utterly fun. One of the lesser-loved Alcottian beauties. Chic and loving, little and fierce.
[name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] - I love this name pronounced like the little cookies: “MAD-eh-lehn!” Spunky and serene all at once? Very quaint!
[name_u]Sunny[/name_u] - Of course, full of yellow light and warmth. Seems like a virtue name but isn’t! A little reminder of natural sunshine within us. Plus, just an adorable sound. I’ve been loving her as a [name_f]Susannah[/name_f] nickname.
[name_f]Joanna[/name_f] - I think this name is underrated! She is very intelligent and idyll. Plus, nicknames of beauty!

Combo Ideas!
I’d name my own four little women (each one using a different one of your four lists)…
[name_f]Marianne[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] “Marnie” :blossom:
[name_u]Florence[/name_u] [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] :tulip:
[name_f]Frances[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] “Frannie” 🪻
[name_f]Joanna[/name_f] [name_u]Sunny[/name_u] “Joe” :cherry_blossom:

not my style, but fits with your list: adelaide, caroline, anne, irene, lavinia, lucilla, mary, juliette, willa

lose (sorry!): sarah (i get the appeal somewhat, but i just know so many and it feels a little overdone next to the timelessness of most of your list), autumn (i find it too wordy, and it’s a bit modern with some of the rest of your list), eudora (okay this is totally a me thing but i don’t love either the eu- or -dora sounds), ida (i just hear idle)

i hope this helped! for the most part i really love your list and it feels beautifully cohesive, so i’m sure whatever you settle on will be lovely :white_heart:
