Gilbert [name_m]Elwyn[/name_m] ([name_f]El[/name_f]-win) sounds adorable I say go for it! However I’m not keen on the spelling and recommend [name_m]Gilbert[/name_m] [name_m]Edwin[/name_m] as an alternative or even [name_m]Gilbert[/name_m] [name_m]Eldric[/name_m]! That’s just my personal taste though overall [name_m]Elwyn[/name_m] goes well with [name_m]Gilbert[/name_m]
Gilbert [name_m]Elwyn[/name_m] is so handsome!!! I love it! I don’t think [name_m]Elwyn[/name_m] sounds feminine at all. It feels very brave and heroic, maybe like a prince in a fantasy novel
Jumping on the opinion that thinks [name_m]Elwyn[/name_m] sounds feminine. [name_m]Elwyn[/name_m] bears a striking resemblance to [name_f]Elowyn[/name_f]. I’d keep [name_m]Gilbert[/name_m] … where so many are choosing [name_m]Albert[/name_m] these days [name_m]Gilbert[/name_m] is an awesome refreshing choice. But go for a different middle.
I’m intrigued by the fact that your husband is the one who is suggesting [name_m]Elwyn[/name_m] - it’s a very striking choice and it feels so uncommon for men to choose such unique names (especially ones that feel somewhat feminine or at least gender neutral). Is this an honour name?
I love the name [name_m]Gilbert[/name_m] and am really happy to see someone choosing it as a first name! I think it goes really well with your other children’s names.
Gilbert is so cute! I do agree that [name_m]Elwyn[/name_m] looks more feminine. I would go with [name_m]Edwin[/name_m] or [name_m]Eldon[/name_m]! [name_m]Eldric[/name_m] is also an interesting suggestion
