[name_m]New[/name_m] to posting here but have been reading the forums for a long time. I am due with my second daughter and having a hard time with names. Right now, I am loving [name_f]Noa[/name_f] but am hesitant to use it because of the boy name [name_u]Noah[/name_u] and I have had people comment that it looks like I misspelled [name_f]Nora[/name_f]. I also love the name [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] but am not a fan of popular names. I would use a longer, feminine middle name such as [name_f]Corrine[/name_f] or [name_f]Seraphine[/name_f]. Thanks for any input or suggestions. I also like [name_f]Marlo[/name_f] but I don’t think the hubby does.
For reference my daughter’s name is [name_u]Ever[/name_u] [name_f]Soleil[/name_f]
[name_u]Ever[/name_u] is definitely an innovative, modern name that isn’t too trendy. [name_f]Zoe[/name_f], an exceptionally trendy name, doesn’t really fit. [name_f]Noa[/name_f] is a familiar name that is separate from the male alternative, [name_u]Noah[/name_u], and is not a misspelling of [name_f]Nora[/name_f]. It is a modern Israeli/Hebrew name that’s used in many other countries. It fits well with sister [name_u]Ever[/name_u].
[name_f]Noa[/name_f] [name_f]Seraphine[/name_f] is beautiful.
I wouldn’t call [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] trendy. [name_m]Just[/name_m] popular. [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] has a long history as a name. I see trendy as names that have sort of come out of nowhere and shoot up the charts, but then disappear just as quickly.
[name_f]Zoe[/name_f] is a long time favorite. I like it with sister [name_u]Ever[/name_u].
[name_f]Naomi[/name_f] (I prefer Noemí) is another favorite of mine. I especially love the meanings of both [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] and [name_f]Naomi[/name_f].
I really like [name_f]Noa[/name_f], but [name_f]Nola[/name_f] and [name_u]Romy[/name_u] are also sweet. If you don’t mind three syllables, [name_f]Romilly[/name_f] is similar and adorable: [name_f]Romilly[/name_f] and [name_u]Ever[/name_u]?
I like [name_f]Marlo[/name_f] [name_f]Seraphine[/name_f] or [name_f]Nola[/name_f] [name_f]Corrine[/name_f]. Instead of [name_f]Zoe[/name_f], what about [name_f]Zora[/name_f], [name_f]Zara[/name_f], or [name_u]Zola[/name_u]?
I love [name_f]Noa[/name_f]. I wish my dh would consider it. [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] is okay, but fairly trendy at least in my area, whereas I’ve never heard of [name_u]Ever[/name_u] on a real person.
I agree that [name_f]Noa[/name_f] needs a longer, feminine middle name.
I like [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] a lot with [name_u]Ever[/name_u] ([name_u]Ever[/name_u] Soliel is beautiful, btw), and I feel that [name_f]Noa[/name_f] is trendy, however legitimate; and though [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] is quite popular, it doesn’t give the same impression. I can understand your hesitation to use it, but maybe there is an alternative you would consider:
As you can tell I like the name Azélie very much, and seeing that you aren’t opposed to [name_m]French[/name_m] names, it would fit beautifully with [name_u]Ever[/name_u]. It has such a wonderful, spunky-yet-sweet sound : )
I love the name [name_f]Noa[/name_f] and [name_f]Nola[/name_f] is a close second. People check spellings of names anyway nowadays because people use alternative spellings so I wouldn’t worry about that! If you like it then go for it; it is a beautiful name!
Between the two, I prefer [name_f]Noa[/name_f]. [name_f]Noa[/name_f] Serephine is beautiful and sounds great with a sister named [name_u]Ever[/name_u]. Which is also beautiful. Have you ever thought of combining [name_f]Noa[/name_f] and [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] to make [name_f]Zoa[/name_f]? I met a little girl with that name once.
I think I like the sound of [name_f]Noa[/name_f] more, but I think [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] is more usable and has the spunkiness to match with [name_u]Ever[/name_u]. [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] has a great meaning, and I think [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] [name_f]Seraphine[/name_f] is still lots of interesting. [name_f]Noa[/name_f] does look a little incomplete to me, but both could work with [name_u]Ever[/name_u].
[name_f]Zoe[/name_f] is classic! I can’t fathom how it can be considered ‘trendy’. unless someone’s mistaking trendy for popular. In any case, both names are great w/[name_u]Ever[/name_u] [name_f]Soleil[/name_f]. I also like [name_f]Xia[/name_f] ([name_u]Zia[/name_u]) [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f], [name_f]Nola[/name_f] [name_f]Coraline[/name_f], [name_f]Noa[/name_f] [name_f]Corinne[/name_f], [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] [name_f]Athene[/name_f].
All that said, [name_f]Marlo[/name_f], [name_f]Nola[/name_f] and [name_f]Naomi[/name_f] I really like, probably more than [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] or [name_f]Noa[/name_f].
I actually love [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] and [name_u]Ever[/name_u] as sisters. I am not a fan of [name_f]Noa[/name_f], it looks unfinished to me because I’m thinking [name_u]Noah[/name_u].
I also really like [name_f]Nola[/name_f] and [name_u]Ever[/name_u], and [name_f]Naomi[/name_f] and [name_u]Ever[/name_u]. [name_u]Zola[/name_u] is a good suggestion too.
[name_f]Zoe[/name_f]'s fine but I [name_f]LOVE[/name_f] [name_f]Noa[/name_f].
[name_f]Naomi[/name_f] is beautiful and more traditional if you decide [name_f]Noa[/name_f] is too uncommon or are afraid of people being confused. (I’m not sure I’d worry about it.)
I find [name_f]Zara[/name_f] and [name_f]Zelda[/name_f] sassier/cooler than [name_f]Zoe[/name_f], honestly. I do like [name_f]Zoe[/name_f]'s meaning - “life” - but for that meaning I sorta prefer [name_f]Asha[/name_f], or [name_u]Vivien[/name_u]/[name_f]Vivienne[/name_f]. Actually, [name_f]Noa[/name_f] [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] would be really gorgeous.
[name_u]Ever[/name_u]… hmmm not so much. [name_m]Just[/name_m] think of all the songs that have “forever” or simply “ever” in it.
[name_f]Noa[/name_f] / [name_u]Noah[/name_u] - Like it but for me they sound too boy-ish.
