DD is [name]Violet[/name] [name]Isabelle[/name] and DS is [name]George[/name] [name]Quincy[/name].
I would like something similar, a bit vintage/classic and simple, but not insanely popular. A little popular is usable. I’d prefer to avoid the ‘J’ sound as in [name]George[/name], and I’d probably rather not use another flower/color name too. Our last name starts with P, so those are out too.
Names I love that we can’t use: [name]June[/name], [name]Alice[/name], [name]Kate[/name], [name]Anna[/name], [name]Claire[/name]… this list is a long one unfortunately.
Other names we are considering:
[name]Hazel[/name] (don’t like another flower name, though)
[name]Louise[/name] (DH is having doubts)
[name]Eve[/name]
[name]Audrey[/name]
[name]Eliza[/name]
[name]Greta[/name]
[name]Cora[/name]
[name]Elsa[/name]
[name]Margo[/name]
What are you opinions on these names with our sibset? Any other names you think we should have on the list? Thanks!
[name]Hazel[/name] - Very cute but I always have trouble imagining this on a real person.
[name]Louise[/name] - Have never been a fan but it sounds good with your sibset.
[name]Eve[/name] - Also not a fan, I don’t think it’s as distinguished as [name]Violet[/name] and [name]George[/name].
[name]Audrey[/name] - [name]Love[/name] it, my choice to go with your kids. [name]Violet[/name], [name]George[/name], and [name]Audrey[/name], awesome!
[name]Eliza[/name] - Spunky and also fits in nicely.
[name]Greta[/name] - Not a fan.
[name]Cora[/name] - Very cute with the sibset, I can’t really see this on a grownup though.
[name]Elsa[/name] - Not a fan.
[name]Margo[/name] - Not a fan.
Other suggestions
[name]Iris[/name] (another flower name but so gorgeous)
[name]Beatrix[/name]
[name]Adele[/name]
[name]Susannah[/name]
[name]Celia[/name]
[name]Cecilia[/name]
[name]Nora[/name]
[name]Matilda[/name]
Thanks for your input and suggestions. I also like [name]Audrey[/name] a lot - the popularity puts me off a bit. [name]Beatrix[/name] is adorable, but unfortunately we have close family with [name]Adelaide[/name] (puts [name]Adele[/name] off), [name]Cecelia[/name], and [name]Nora[/name]!
Apparently my family has the same naming style as us
Thanks again.
Well, for what it’s worth, I vote [name]Audrey[/name] also! It does indeed sound the best with your other two children’s names. [name]May[/name] I suggest [name]Sunny[/name] (I knew a girl named this in junior high,) [name]Dani[/name] (too boyish?), [name]Annie[/name] (I’m noticing a trend here…), and [name]Caroline[/name].
[name]Hazel[/name] - It seems a little but too old compared to your other children’s names
[name]Louise[/name] - I strongly prefer [name]Louisa[/name]
[name]Eve[/name] - Seems a little to short to go with your others
[name]Audrey[/name] - [name]LOVE[/name], it goes great with your children’s names By far my favorite!
[name]Eliza[/name] - I like this one too, it would be my second choice
[name]Greta[/name] - its ok but would give you two names that start with G and leave [name]Violet[/name] out
[name]Cora[/name] - Same as [name]Hazel[/name] to me
[name]Elsa[/name] - lovely but I like [name]Eliza[/name] better!
[name]Margo[/name] - I have never seen the appeal in this name, sorry
I love your children’s names! [name]Violet[/name] and [name]Isabelle[/name] are two of my favorite names. [name]George[/name] [name]Quincy[/name] is charming, too.
I love a lot of your names–[name]Eve[/name], [name]Elsa[/name], [name]Greta[/name], [name]Cora[/name], [name]Audrey[/name], and [name]Hazel[/name] are my favorites–but none of them quite compare to the lovely [name]Cora[/name] imo. I think [name]Violet[/name] and [name]Cora[/name] are stunning for sisters. If you want something a little less popular, I think [name]Corinne[/name]/[name]Corinna[/name] or [name]Cordelia[/name] with the nn [name]Cora[/name] would be sweet, as well. My second choice would be [name]Eve[/name].
I also love the idea of [name]Annie[/name] with [name]Violet[/name] and [name]George[/name]–I think [name]Anneliese[/name], [name]Anna[/name], or [name]Anne[/name] would be lovely “full” names with the nn [name]Annie[/name].
I also think [name]Eleanor[/name], [name]Gwendolen[/name], [name]Penelope[/name] (nn [name]Poppy[/name] or [name]Lola[/name], maybe? [name]Nell[/name] and [name]Penny[/name] are other well-loved nns for it around here), [name]Helena[/name], [name]Aurelia[/name], [name]Lorelei[/name], or [name]Elora[/name] would be lovely in your sibset.
[name]Hazel[/name] - [name]Love[/name] it but I agree, the two color names may be a bit much.
[name]Louise[/name] - I like it but only because this is my mom’s middle name (after her dad [name]Louis[/name]). Otherwise I don’t think I would.
[name]Eve[/name] - Pretty but I’m not a fan of most one syllable names.
[name]Audrey[/name] - [name]LOVE[/name]!!! This is one of my favorite names
[name]Eliza[/name] - Pretty.
[name]Greta[/name] - Like it!
[name]Cora[/name] - Like it, but I like it more as a nn for something.
[name]Elsa[/name] - Not a fan.
[name]Margo[/name] - It’s ok.
I like [name]Audrey[/name] and [name]Louisa[/name] from the current suggestions but what about [name]Sylvie[/name]? [name]Violet[/name], [name]George[/name] and [name]Sylvie[/name] sound really cute together to me.
Thanks for the input, everyone!
I do like many of the [name]Ann[/name]-- names, but unfortunately [name]Annie[/name] is the name of a now ex-[name]SIL[/name], and it was not a nice divorce, so those are truly untouchables.
I do prefer [name]Louise[/name] to [name]Louisa[/name], not sure why exactly, maybe its a little less ‘frilly’ sounding? I kind of like the harder consonants/sounds in girls names. And DH actually likes it less, as well.
And we definitely like shorter names (LN is 3-syllables) and names without nicknames are what I prefer - that what I like about these names.
I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Eloise[/name] - our friends just named their daughter [name]Ellie[/name], however, and that was too close for DH I guess.
[name]Sylvie[/name] is very nice, much nicer than [name]Sylvia[/name], I hadn’t thought of that. I will definitely add it to the list!
Thanks again, it is so helpful to hear your opinions!
I love [name]Hazel[/name], [name]Audrey[/name], [name]Eliza[/name] and [name]Margo[/name]. What about [name]Alice[/name]? I think that would sound nice with [name]Violet[/name] and [name]George[/name].
