Girl name for baby #4

We’re deciding between [name_f]Mary[/name_f] and [name_f]Alice[/name_f] for our 4th baby’s name (both are meaningful family names). Siblings are [name_m]John[/name_m], [name_m]Thomas[/name_m], and [name_f]Rose[/name_f] and last name starts with “M”. Any thoughts? We have several middle names we like with each. One other name we’ve thrown out is Hazel. Thoughts?

[name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f] M?

[name_f]Alice[/name_f] because of the double M if you use [name_f]Mary[/name_f] although both names are lovely. If her last name is in your signature I think [name_f]Alice[/name_f] works best with it.

I think both [name_f]Mary[/name_f] or [name_f]Alice[/name_f] would work, but my first thought was using them both. [name_f]Mary[/name_f]-[name_f]Alice[/name_f] or [name_f]Mary[/name_f] mn [name_f]Alice[/name_f]. If you’re definitely determined to drop one, though, my vote would be [name_f]Alice[/name_f] just because I like [name_f]Alice[/name_f]. ^^

I like [name_f]Alice[/name_f] better than [name_f]Mary[/name_f]. Although, [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Mary[/name_f] does sound nice.

I love [name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f] as a double-barrel (doesn’t need a hyphen) name, but if that’s not something you like, I think [name_f]Alice[/name_f] would be lovely. Goodness this is so hard! I happen to love both. I think [name_f]Mary[/name_f] depends a lot on the length of your last name actually. [name_f]Mary[/name_f] M!ller would sound a bit repetitive but not something unusable or ridiculous. [name_f]Mary[/name_f] Mo0re on the other hand, hmm… [name_f]Mary[/name_f] Mur.phy not so good because they end in the same sound, but [name_f]Mary[/name_f] Mack3nzie or [name_f]Mary[/name_f] M@rshall sound perfectly find. I put some funky characters in the last name in case any of them is yours, for privacy sake.

I love both names, but - assuming that’s your last name in your user name - then I’d definitely say [name_f]Alice[/name_f] for you…[name_f]Mary[/name_f] and your surname are both start with an M, have 4 letters and 2 syllables, and share 3 of the 4 letters.

Personally, I prefer [name_f]Alice[/name_f] to [name_f]Mary[/name_f], though I think both work brilliantly with your children’s names. I’d take into account your last name as it may be too close to [name_f]Mary[/name_f], what with the alliteration and such.

I prefer [name_f]Alice[/name_f] and I also don’t personally care for alliteration, so I would also choose [name_f]Alice[/name_f] because of that. Both names go beautifully with [name_m]John[/name_m], [name_m]Thomas[/name_m], and [name_f]Rose[/name_f], though. Congratulations!
