Girl Name Help Please!

[name]Hi[/name] all,

We have decided not to find out the gender of our little one and I am having the hardest time coming up with both a boy and girl option! The boy name forum game me some great options but we’re still undecided on that front too. Our current children are named [name]Patrick[/name] and [name]Claire[/name].
For a girl, my husband really would like to honor his mother who has recently passed by incorporating her name ([name]Ann[/name]) as either the first or middle. Our last name is three syllables and starts with O.
I have a few choices, but am open to suggestions! So far, I love the following names, but haven’t ironed our where [name]Ann[/name] would fit. Ideas?

[name]Alice[/name]
[name]Quinn[/name]
[name]Nora[/name]

I think that [name]Nora[/name] fits with [name]Patrick[/name] and [name]Claire[/name] the best. [name]Nora[/name] [name]Ann[/name] is very pretty! I also love [name]Ann[/name] as a first name. It is an underused classic.

[name]Nora[/name] and [name]Alice[/name] fits better with [name]Patrick[/name] and [name]Claire[/name]. [name]Quinn[/name] is too trendy and unisex and doesn’t fit at all.[name]Nora[/name] [name]Ann[/name] is lovely.[name]Alice[/name] [name]Ann[/name] goes as well.

Have you consider any variation of the name [name]Ann[/name] such as

[name]Anna[/name]
[name]Marianne[/name]
[name]Anastasia[/name]
[name]Annabeth[/name]
[name]Annabel[/name]
[name]Anouk[/name]

I think [name]Annabel[/name] [name]Nora[/name] is lovely!!

Good luck!

I agree, [name]Quinn[/name] is cute but doesn’t fit. [name]Quinn[/name] [name]Ann[/name] is too [name]Queen[/name] [name]Ann[/name] (and too one-syllable, too much N). [name]Nora[/name] and [name]Alice[/name] both work nicely. I like [name]Alice[/name] better. [name]Patrick[/name], [name]Claire[/name], and [name]Alice[/name] all have a C, which is a nice subtle tie-in. [name]Alice[/name] [name]Ann[/name] with your last name is 2-1-3 rhythm, which is great. [name]One[/name] thing to be aware of with [name]Nora[/name] is that, without the middle initial, her initials would be NO (not terrible or anything, just something to think about). With your last name beginning with O, names ending in -a or -e sounds are going to bump into that vowel a little bit (although this is a pretty minor thing).

If your husband is willing you might open up more options by considering middle names that contain [name]Ann[/name], besides [name]Ann[/name] variants above there are names like [name]Joanne[/name], [name]Johanna[/name], [name]Susannah[/name], etc. Or even if it’s not what you did with your other children I think [name]Ann[/name] is so short and it’s to honor family that you could look into two middles - [name]Alice[/name] [name]Ann[/name] [name]Rosemary[/name] or [name]Alice[/name] [name]Ann[/name]-[name]Rosemary[/name], something like that, if you don’t like the rhythm of [name]Alice[/name] [name]Ann[/name]. But I like [name]Alice[/name] [name]Ann[/name]!

I think [name]Nora[/name] is great with [name]Patrick[/name] and [name]Claire[/name]! I think [name]Nora[/name] [name]Ann[/name] sounds nice.

Definitely [name]Nora[/name] with [name]Patrick[/name] and [name]Claire[/name]. You could incorporate [name]Ann[/name] through the middle name - [name]Nora[/name] [name]Ann[/name], [name]Nora[/name] [name]Annabel[/name], [name]Nora[/name] [name]Elianna[/name], [name]Nora[/name] [name]Lilianna[/name], [name]Nora[/name] [name]Annika[/name]…

Oh! What about [name]Annora[/name] with the nickname [name]Nora[/name]? It checks off everything on the list! There’s also the [name]Honora[/name] spelling but that doesn’t honor [name]Ann[/name]. [name]Annora[/name] [name]Quinn[/name] is lovely! [name]Even[/name] [name]Annora[/name] [name]Alice[/name] is sweet. [name]Patrick[/name], [name]Claire[/name], and [name]Annora[/name] nn [name]Nora[/name].
