Help us name our baby girl? I feel like I’ve considered every name out there, but I’m still not 100% on our picks and am definitely open to suggestions (or at least reassurance!).
I tend to like romantic, pretty-sounding names that aren’t too girly or common, usually something vintage or classic paired with something more fresh or creative.

My husband liked [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] and it’s grown on me. I think [name_f]Pippa[/name_f] would be such a great nickname with our P last name, but I’m worried both [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] and [name_f]Rose[/name_f] are too trendy right now.

I love the strong-yet-soft feel of [name_f]Edith[/name_f], but I know a lot of people dislike it (no danger of it being too trendy, at least).

I adore both your first choices, [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] and [name_f]Edith[/name_f]. They both have such lovely nicknames as well as being such strong feminine full names. I agree with you about that strong yet soft feel that [name_f]Edith[/name_f] has.
[name_m]Even[/name_m] though [name_f]Rose[/name_f] flows well with [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] I would prefer a more unexpected middle name. Perhaps [name_f]Claire[/name_f], [name_f]Juno[/name_f] (to take the cue from [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] on your list) or [name_f]Cora[/name_f]? I adore [name_f]Pippa[/name_f] as nn for [name_f]Penelope[/name_f].
With [name_f]Edith[/name_f] I think [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] flows well, is delightfully unexpected and compliments the first name. I love both [name_f]Edie[/name_f] and [name_m]Eddie[/name_m] as nns.
Other names I like on your list are [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] (love nn [name_f]Maggie[/name_f]), [name_f]Arwen[/name_f], [name_u]Juniper[/name_u]. I don’t mind [name_f]Esme[/name_f] and [name_f]Lyla[/name_f].
I think however your 2 best names are [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] and [name_f]Edith[/name_f]! Does one of them sound better with your surname?
Really hard to choose between them. If popularity is a big issue I would go towards [name_f]Edith[/name_f].
Ha! When I read your description of your naming style, the very first name that popped in my head was [name_f]Edith[/name_f]…so obviously I’m a fan of that choice for you! I agree that it’s soft but strong, and Downton [name_u]Abbey[/name_u] has helped its popular image a bit, I think.

I do think the [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] and [name_f]Rose[/name_f] are a little trendy, but that’s also because they’re great names and if you do love [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] I wouldn’t let that put you off it.
However, I do love [name_f]Edith[/name_f] [name_f]Aurora[/name_f]. Same as has already been said, strong but soft and [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] is unexpected but works so well!

I was worried baby girl wouldn’t have a name there for a while. I think I’ll keep all this in mind and wait to see what she looks like before making the final decision.
