Boosting this post for more replies!

Thanks a lot!!yes I prefer [name_u]Jo[/name_u] as a middle.
The combos are beautiful! Thanks!! NBG

[name_f]Autumn[/name_f] [name_u]Pascale[/name_u], [name_f]Lorelei[/name_f] [name_u]March[/name_u], [name_u]Laken[/name_u] [name_f]Alice[/name_f], [name_f]Belle[/name_f] [name_f]October[/name_f] and [name_m]Patton[/name_m] [name_f]Venice[/name_f] would be my fave combos!

Thanks a lot!! Those are greAt!!

[name_f]Alice[/name_f] - I’m not a huge fan as it’s very popular where I live, but it is quite a sweet name.

[name_f]April[/name_f] - It’s kind of cute but doesn’t really catch my eye.

[name_f]Autumn[/name_f] - One of my favourites.

[name_f]Belle[/name_f] - It’s cute, although I prefer it as a middle name or nickname I think it can stand alone.

[name_f]Briallen[/name_f] - I love [name_f]Briallen[/name_f], although you might run into some pronunciation difficulties people who aren’t familiar with the Welsh “ll” sound.

[name_f]Ella[/name_f] - I don’t like that many [name_f]El[/name_f] names as they are kind of ubiquitous where I live.

[name_u]Finley[/name_u] - I perceive this as more masculine. For any gender I slightly prefer the [name_u]Finlay[/name_u] spelling.

[name_u]Jael[/name_u] - I think this has some pronunciation issues.

[name_u]Jo[/name_u] - Feels like it should be short for something.

[name_u]June[/name_u] - Not my style exactly but always a respectable, summery name.

[name_u]Kennedy[/name_u] - Not my style, kind of associate it with the former president.

[name_u]Laken[/name_u] - I don’t like this, but I adore [name_u]Lake[/name_u]. I think [name_u]Lake[/name_u] is also great for combos like [name_u]Lake[/name_u] [name_f]Briallen[/name_f] or [name_f]Briallen[/name_f] [name_u]Lake[/name_u].

[name_f]Lorelei[/name_f] - I love this name.

[name_u]March[/name_u] - It’s quite abrupt but I kind of like it.

[name_f]Natasha[/name_f] - prefer [name_f]Natalia[/name_f].

[name_f]October[/name_f] - prefer other month names but [name_f]October[/name_f] is cute.

Ottolie - I’m more familiar with the [name_f]Ottilie[/name_f] spelling. It’s an OK name.

Palar - Not familiar enough with this name to make a judgement.

Paradise - I have a soft spot for this. I think it would be good middle name material.

[name_u]Pascale[/name_u] - Again, I love this. It would sound great in the middle spot, but is feasible as a first name too. I also like [name_f]Pascaline[/name_f].

[name_u]Payton[/name_u] - Not a fan, just doesn’t sound great to me. I prefer [name_u]Leighton[/name_u].

[name_f]Raine[/name_f] - This is pretty cute.

[name_m]Rogue[/name_m] - Not a fan, it’s hard to see this name as positive.

[name_f]Ryleigh[/name_f] - The spelling feels too complicated for me due to the -leigh. I prefer the usual spellings of the surname: [name_u]Reilly[/name_u] or [name_u]Riley[/name_u].

[name_f]Venice[/name_f] - Despite how controversial place names can be as given names, I love them and I love the name [name_f]Venice[/name_f], I make no secret of that. Probably suited to MN spot but not unthinkable as a FN.

THanks sooo much!! I love your insight on each name!! Thanks!

I like:

I dislike (with reasons):
[name_f]Briallen[/name_f]: I’m not a fan of the sound.
[name_f]Ella[/name_f]: It’s too popular for my tastes, I prefer [name_f]Ebba[/name_f] or [name_f]Etta[/name_f] (personally).
[name_u]March[/name_u]: I love most month names, but [name_u]March[/name_u] makes me think of the movement or a marching band.
Palar: I’m confused on the pronunciation. Is it [name_m]Pal[/name_m]-are?
Paradise: I don’t like to use this word, but it just seems tacky to me. I also don’t think it ages well, I think of a rebellious teenager.
Rouge: I prefer this as a middle name.
[name_f]Ryleigh[/name_f]: I prefer [name_u]Riley[/name_u].

[name_f]Venice[/name_f] [name_u]Jo[/name_u]
[name_f]October[/name_f] [name_u]Pascale[/name_u]
[name_u]Finley[/name_u] [name_f]Raine[/name_f]
Ottolie Rouge
[name_u]Kennedy[/name_u] [name_u]Jael[/name_u]
[name_u]Payton[/name_u] [name_f]Ryleigh[/name_f]
[name_u]Laken[/name_u] [name_u]June[/name_u]
[name_f]Ella[/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f]
[name_f]Belle[/name_f] [name_u]March[/name_u]

Puh lar.
I know someone named [name_f]Sarah[/name_f] [name_f]Pilar[/name_f]. I like the spelling Palar instead of the original spelling [name_f]Pilar[/name_f].
Did you misspell rogue or did you think it was rouge?
Thanks for the input and suggestions! I will consider them!

[name_f]Alice[/name_f]: Never been a huge fan of [name_f]Alice[/name_f]. A little too [name_u]Brady[/name_u] Bunch for me. I think it makes a nice MN. Have you considered [name_f]Elise[/name_f]?

[name_f]April[/name_f]: Not a fan of Month names on humans, especially not such a dreary, rainy month.

[name_f]Autumn[/name_f]: It’s fine, not a huge fan.

[name_f]Belle[/name_f]: [name_f]Lovely[/name_f]! I like it better in a longer version ([name_f]Anabel[/name_f], [name_f]Mirabel[/name_f], etc.) but [name_f]Belle[/name_f] is pretty.

[name_f]Briallen[/name_f]: HERE is the actual pronunciation which is unfortunately pretty difficult to say unless you happen to be Welsh. It’s much more like [name_f]BREE[/name_f]-ahl-hen" with a glottal stop. It’s very pretty though.

[name_f]Eva[/name_f]: Pretty!

[name_u]Finley[/name_u]: Very masculine. Doesn’t work well on a girl, and [name_u]Finn[/name_u] is one of the most popular boy nickname for 2016.

[name_u]Jael[/name_u]: I prefer the [name_u]Yael[/name_u] spelling as it is much more straight forward. [name_u]Jael[/name_u] will constantly be called “[name_u]Jay[/name_u]-elle.” [name_u]Yael[/name_u] has a much nicer meaning, too.

[name_u]Jo[/name_u]: As a middle name it screams countrified. Strongly dislike. [name_f]Josephine[/name_f], [name_f]Joanna[/name_f], [name_u]Joan[/name_u], [name_f]Joy[/name_f], [name_f]Jolene[/name_f], are all better.

[name_u]June[/name_u]: The only month name I like. Cute.

[name_u]Kennedy[/name_u]: Noooo. I LOATHE [name_u]Kennedy[/name_u] on a girl. It’s so strong and masculine, and JFK was such a cool, preppy guy that it works SO. WELL. for a boy but the girls have stolen it and massacred it. Kynnadi, Kenadee, Kindaeigh, etc etc etc. It infuriates me.

[name_u]Laken[/name_u]: Not a fan. [name_u]Blakeley[/name_u] is a similar choice.

[name_f]Lorelei[/name_f]: [name_u]Love[/name_u] but the [name_m]Gilmore[/name_m] Girl reference is so strong, and I’m a huuuge fan, I think it works best as a MN. [name_f]Lola[/name_f] and [name_u]Rory[/name_u] are great nicknames though.

[name_u]March[/name_u]: NMS.

[name_f]Natasha[/name_f]: Definitely prefer [name_f]Natalie[/name_f].

[name_f]October[/name_f]: NMS. Doesn’t sound like a human name.

Ottolie: Very nice! [name_f]Ottilie[/name_f] is the correct spelling.

Palar: [name_f]Pilar[/name_f]?

Paradise: Nope.

[name_u]Pascale[/name_u]: All man to me.

[name_u]Payton[/name_u]: PEACOCK TOWN?! LMAO! I’ve never heard that before and it cracks me up. It means “fighting man’s estate” which by definition makes it masculine. I know it’s been stolen by the girls but I just don’t enjoy it.

[name_f]Raine[/name_f]: Nice as a middle name.

[name_m]Rogue[/name_m]: Nope.

[name_f]Ryleigh[/name_f]: Oh, please spell it [name_u]Riley[/name_u]. [name_f]Ryleigh[/name_f] is so much going on. I like it on a boy.

[name_f]Venice[/name_f]: NMS. I love [name_f]Verona[/name_f] or [name_f]Geneva[/name_f] though!

[name_f]Ottilie[/name_f] [name_u]Jael[/name_u]
[name_f]Ottilie[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u]
[name_f]Ottilie[/name_f] [name_f]Belle[/name_f]
[name_f]Eva[/name_f] [name_f]Lorelei[/name_f]
[name_f]Lorelei[/name_f] [name_f]Raine[/name_f]
[name_f]Natasha[/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f]

We apparently have a different name style! Lol!
Yes peacock town is a pretty funny meaning!
Yes the original spelling is [name_f]Pilar[/name_f], I just know others who have used it Palar and I like that spelling better😊.
I prefer [name_u]Jael[/name_u] because she is a woman in the Bible.
The reason I don’t like [name_u]Riley[/name_u] is because that spelling is used for someone I know that is a boy. I also like the spelling [name_u]Reilly[/name_u] but that reminds me of o’[name_u]Reilly[/name_u]'s😬.
I adore [name_f]Italy[/name_f], so yea [name_f]Venice[/name_f] lol
And you know my love of [name_f]Marvel[/name_f] so [name_f]Natasha[/name_f]'s not new ! Lol!
As for briallen I just pronounce it different than the original I guess. I actually wasn’t aware how it was pronounced! Thanks ! I know someone named [name_f]Joelle[/name_f] and at restaurants when she gives her name, it is called out [name_m]Joel[/name_m] lol. So I understand the spelling and pronunciation problems😜 That’s why I have it as a middle😊
Thanks for the thoughts they were very helpful!!
Thanks so much!!! NBG

@nbg, Our taste is certainly different. Fwiw, [name_u]Yael[/name_u] are [name_u]Jael[/name_u] are the same person in the Bible. [name_f]Verona[/name_f] & [name_f]Geneva[/name_f] are also in [name_f]Italy[/name_f]

OH yeah lol :joy: they are. Whoops:smiley:.
[name_f]Venice[/name_f] is my style but those are nice too😊
Is it just a different spelling like [name_m]Pheonix[/name_m] to [name_u]Phoenix[/name_u]?

Yes, sort of. [name_u]Jael[/name_u] is the English text, and [name_u]Yael[/name_u] is the phonetic spelling. Most Israeli women with this name spell it [name_u]Yael[/name_u] in English. There is also a meaning of [name_u]Yael[/name_u] which is like “ascending to God” or something, which is because [name_f]El[/name_f] means God in Hebrew, so when a Hebrew name has ‘el’ in it, it almost always has God in the meaning, i.e. [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], [name_u]Ariel[/name_u], [name_f]Eliana[/name_f], [name_m]Joel[/name_m], [name_m]Daniel[/name_m], [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m], [name_u]Michael[/name_u], [name_m]Samuel[/name_m], etc etc etc.

Neat!! Thanks for the info!!!

*[name_f]Alice[/name_f] - [name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Alice[/name_f]. It’s classic and simple
[name_f]April[/name_f] - [name_f]April[/name_f] is a nice name
[name_f]Autumn[/name_f] - [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] is my favorite month/season name
[name_f]Belle[/name_f] - It’s pretty but I just think of the Disney princess
[name_f]Briallen[/name_f] - Not a fan of this one, just because it seems like a weird mash-up of [name_f]Brianna[/name_f] and [name_m]Alan[/name_m]. I really like [name_f]Brielle[/name_f] instead.
[name_f]Clara[/name_f] - [name_u]Love[/name_u]. It’s so fresh and clean and pretty.
[name_f]Ella[/name_f] - [name_f]Ella[/name_f] is cute but seems more like a nickname to me.
[name_f]Eva[/name_f] - I like [name_f]Eva[/name_f]. Could get confused with [name_f]Ava[/name_f] but they’re both pretty.
[name_u]Finley[/name_u] - I really love this name but I would use it on a boy.
[name_f]Galilee[/name_f] - not my style. I like [name_f]Galena[/name_f] instead
*[name_u]Jael[/name_u] - I love animal meaning names but I pronounce this “Jail” so I’m not a fan.
*[name_u]Jo[/name_u] - [name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_u]Jo[/name_u] as a middle name. It’s so spunky
*[name_u]June[/name_u] - [name_u]June[/name_u] is another great middle name, although I prefer [name_f]Jane[/name_f]
[name_u]Kennedy[/name_u] - I like [name_u]Kennedy[/name_u]. I like [name_u]Cassidy[/name_u] more but [name_u]Kennedy[/name_u] is a solid choice
[name_u]Laken[/name_u] - It’s too harsh sounding to me and too close to the boy name, [name_m]Lachlan[/name_m]. The name [name_f]Meara[/name_f] also means lake.
[name_f]Lorelei[/name_f] - I love this name but I can’t get the association to gilmore girls out of my head with this one.
[name_u]March[/name_u] - While I like [name_f]April[/name_f], [name_u]June[/name_u], and [name_f]Autumn[/name_f], [name_u]March[/name_u] just doesn’t work as a name for me.
*[name_f]Natasha[/name_f] - I like [name_f]Natasha[/name_f], but prefer [name_f]Natalie[/name_f].
[name_f]October[/name_f] - Another month name I’m not a fan of, but I do kind’ve like [name_u]January[/name_u] as a name.
Ottolie - [name_f]Do[/name_f] you mean [name_f]Ottilie[/name_f]? I don’t dislike the name but it hasn’t grown on me yet
Palar - not a fan. reminds me of the word pallor which means to turn pale from illness or shock.
Paradise - not a fan.
[name_u]Pascale[/name_u] - I like [name_m]Pascal[/name_m] for a boy but the added E on the end makes me think of Pay Scale.
[name_u]Payton[/name_u] - I prefer the spelling [name_u]Peyton[/name_u] but it’s a cute name.
*[name_f]Raine[/name_f] - I like [name_f]Reyna[/name_f] instead but [name_f]Raine[/name_f] works as a middle.
[name_m]Rogue[/name_m] - Not my style.
[name_f]Ryleigh[/name_f] - I dislike the spelling leigh for [name_u]Lee[/name_u]. I read it as [name_m]Ry[/name_m]-[name_m]Lay[/name_m]. I prefer [name_u]Rylee[/name_u] or [name_u]Riley[/name_u]. Otherwise I really like this name.
[name_f]Venice[/name_f] - I’m not a huge fan of place names, although they seem to grow on me with time. I like [name_f]Florence[/name_f], [name_f]Odessa[/name_f], and [name_u]Sierra[/name_u] which are place names.

Some combos,

[name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u]
[name_f]Autumn[/name_f] [name_f]Raine[/name_f]
[name_u]Finley[/name_u] [name_u]Jo[/name_u]
[name_u]Payton[/name_u] [name_f]Alice[/name_f]
[name_f]Belle[/name_f] [name_f]Natasha[/name_f]

Thank so much for the thoughts!!! Palar is originally spelled [name_f]Pilar[/name_f] and the pronunciation is Puh-lar.
Also [name_u]Jael[/name_u] is a little confusing as it is pronounced like Yay- el.
