I have a pretty tall order… I am absolutely in love with the name Nicholas and am positive I’ll be using it in the near future. I find picking out boy names so much easier than girl names. However, I definitely want a daughter in the future too.
I am just planning ahead because I feel a great sense of peace of knowing the full name I’ll give a baby boy if I have him, so for the last year I’ve tried finding a girl name to match how I’m feeling about Nicholas. Alas, no success yet and therefore I’m turning to you guys for help.
The names I’ve listed below have come close but don’t quite reach the same level of enthusiasm that I get from the name Nicholas. I’m also Dutch with an American partner so I would like for the name to work in both languages.
Also might be worth mentioning that I love love love the name Nina but I don’t want my children’s names to start with the same letter, otherwise, I would’ve chosen Nina. Also love my sister’s name ‘Leah’.
Thanks so much in advance for any suggestions.

I love your list, so many lovely names. [name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] & [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]. Also, I think [name_f]Hannelore[/name_f] could work!
Perhaps you could go [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] nn [name_f]Nina[/name_f], [name_f]Adelina[/name_f] nn [name_f]Nina[/name_f], etc.
Besides that, I think [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m] pairs well with an infinite number of names as it’s just so timeless, so just a few suggestions that I personally like with Nicholas…
I’m glad you mentioned [name_f]Anneliese[/name_f] as I was just coming back to add that to my list! I think it would go nicely with [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m]!
Thank you for your lovely list of suggestions. Seeing [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] and [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m] next to each other pleasantly surprised me - they do make for an excellent pairing. I think [name_f]Nora[/name_f] is gorgeous all the same. I seem to have some automatic gravitation toward ‘N’ names. [name_f]Flora[/name_f] grabbed my attention too! If it weren’t for the [name_m]Dutch[/name_m] pronunciation of [name_f]Margaret[/name_f], I would like that name too.
Thanks for the many fabulous name suggestions. I have had [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] on my mind for a while as it pairs nicely with [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m]. I like that it allows for nicknames too. Though I, unfortunately, have some negative associations with that name. I’m hoping they will wear off. [name_f]My[/name_f] mother loves [name_f]Alice[/name_f] and would love for me to use it. However, if I look too long at it, I start to see ‘a lice’. It’s a shame I’m unable to look past it!
Thank you for your suggestions. [name_f]My[/name_f] great-grandmother’s name was [name_f]Willemina[/name_f], a variation on Wilhemina. I’ve been considering incorporating her name. So I might think about that a little longer!
[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Lydia[/name_f], [name_f]Leonor[/name_f], [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f], [name_f]Hannelore[/name_f] (i think it could work), [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f] and [name_f]Margo[/name_f]
