Girl Names For Boys

I’m not a huge fan of girls names on boys, or boys names on girls, though if we as a society are going to be okay with one, we should be okay with the other. These are mostly going to be girls names I perceived as masculine at first, and didn’t really adjust to them being feminine, or originally male names that are popular for girls now.

  • Avalon (thought it was a boy, never liked it for a girl)
  • Hyacinth (though I prefer Hyacinthus)
  • Clair (I like this spelling for a boy, and Claire for a girl)
  • Vivian (don’t like it at all for a girl)
  • Ambriani (I love it for a boy, not so much for a girl)
  • Romilly (leans feminine to me, but it’s gender neutral)
  • Paris (I really prefer it on a boy)

ETA: Riley, I definitely prefer the spelling Reilly for a boy, and I knew a boy by this name, so I think it works.

Some of these are gender neutral, but are much more common for girls now (Romilly and Paris mostly). Along with nature names like Hazel, Willow, Lark. I don’t generally like nature names, but I am more fond of nature names being gender neutral.
