Having our first baby in [name_u]July[/name_u] and are stumped for a name. Any advice (positive or negative) would be welcomed!
There are lots of names we love but our last name rhymes with Jelley, so certain names that end with -y (think [name_f]Lily[/name_f]) sound too singsongy (imo). We love classic/traditional sounding names.
Her middle name is going to be [name_f]Jane[/name_f] (after both of our mothers)
I think there’s something very charming about [name_f]Julia[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f].
[name_f]Julia[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] feels classic, but also a little unexpected, perhaps due to the alliteration, which I find appealing here.
My second favourite is [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]. Very lovely.
If your last name ends with a -y, I might stay clear of first names that end with a -y too. You [name_f]DO[/name_f] have some gorgeous names ending this way on your list though.
My favorites from this list are by far [name_f]Margot[/name_f] and [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] and I also happen to think they work best with [name_f]Jane[/name_f]. [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] and [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] are lovely too, but I see what you mean with the -y ending and your last name. It’s not terrible or a dealbreaker (in my opinion) by any means, but I think [name_f]Margot[/name_f] or [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] would be better.
These are my favorites:
[name_f]Audrey[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]
[name_f]Felicity[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]
[name_f]Louisa[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]
These are my favorites:
[name_f]Audrey[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]
[name_f]Felicity[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]
[name_f]Louisa[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]
Honestly, these all are nice. The only one that doesn’t seem to work well is [name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] because the flow is not great with both of them being one-syllable names.
Oh, I love singsongy names. Tried to get them for my kids but didn’t really have much success as our last name is hard to do it lol Anyway that’s not what you want. From your list, I’d use [name_f]Louisa[/name_f], I just love how [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] sounds and [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] with the Jelley-rhyming name too!
I like [name_f]Julia[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]. [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] is fine as well. The other names on your list do not go as well with [name_f]Jane[/name_f].
I like all of those except for [name_f]Claire[/name_f] (too abrupt with [name_f]Jane[/name_f], but [name_f]Clara[/name_f] would be pretty) and [name_f]Julia[/name_f] (I see others like the double J, just not my favorite with those names). Favorites are [name_f]Margot[/name_f] and [name_f]Louisa[/name_f].
Your short list is beautiful! I agree with another poster - [name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] seems a bit too abrupt, but [name_f]Clara[/name_f] would work.
I think [name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] and [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] are my favorites.
