Me and my husband just found out that we are expecting a baby girl. She will be our first child so we want her name to honor either me or my husband ( my name is [name_f]Violet[/name_f] and my husband is [name_m]Ian[/name_m]. ). We decided that since we don’t want names to get confusing, we will honor my husband. The problem is we want her name to have the initial “I” and have the same starting “ee” sound that [name_m]Ian[/name_m] does, but those names aren’t exactly easy to find. We thought about the names Ivanna/Ivanka/Iona, but they all seem a little outdated. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you think they are or do you guys have other suggestions?
[name_f]Ilana[/name_f] seems like a good option!
I don’t really think any of those names are “outdated”. I love Ivanka. Nameberry does offer different spelling option like Ivancka or Ivanah. I did try to do a search myself but it was hard not knowing how to necessarily pronounce the various names. I did also see Ivany and Ivania and Ivelisse that all seem like good options
Ian means the Lord is gracious. Gianna also has that same meaning AND carries the name Ian in it.
[name_m]Little[/name_m] tough. Though I don’t see those as dated.

Eva (ee-vuh)
Eve
Evelina
Elena
Inez
Yara
Ingrid!!!
I’m just going to pop in to say thank you for all of your suggestions
Our top contenders are
[name_f]Ivonne[/name_f]
[name_f]Isolde[/name_f]
[name_f]Ianthe[/name_f]
We are warming up to [name_f]Ivanna[/name_f] and [name_f]Ivanka[/name_f], however we think [name_f]Iona[/name_f] is out of the picture. We have also decided to get our family’s opinion on some names to narrow down our options, but you guys are still welcome to suggest. We are not stressing too much on a name right now considering we still have about 6 - 7 months until due date.
Again thank you for your inputs!
