Since I started researching girl names, I found out many “correct” pronunciation of names. [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] is [name_m]Ah[/name_m]-mee-lia not [name_m]Ah[/name_m]-mill-lia? [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] can be [name_f]Emma[/name_f]-leen or [name_f]Emma[/name_f]-line? I feel like classic boy names don’t have this problem. Everyone knows how to pronounce [name_f]Jennifer[/name_f] correctly (or is it just because it’s the most popular pronounciation)
What are some 3/4 syllable girl names that sound like they are spelled without much debate?
I agree with @aspen that [name_f]Abigail[/name_f] is very phonetic.
This is a hard question because the more you hear a name oftentimes the more that pronunciation seems obvious. I think that many traditional short names (one or two syllables) are said how they are spelled (i.e. [name_f]Anne[/name_f], [name_f]Claire[/name_f]). Also some languages like Spanish are very phonetically transparent, thus once you learn the pattern, pronouncing unfamiliar words and names is pretty straight forward.
My first thoughts were [name_f]Josephine[/name_f], [name_f]Sabrina[/name_f], [name_f]Sophia[/name_f], [name_f]Jessica[/name_f], [name_f]Vanessa[/name_f], [name_f]Amanda[/name_f], and [name_f]Christina[/name_f].
