I’ve been growing a bit tired of the frilly girl names in my signature. [name_m]Don[/name_m]'t get me wrong, I love them, but I’ve started to develop an interest in girl names with more strength.
Strength can be defined in many ways, I realize. There are names with strong meanings such as [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] ("strength in battle, love this name) or they could have hard letters such as Ds or Gs. I’ll try to give you more of a sense of what I want.
I love the names [name_u]Auden[/name_u] and [name_u]Arden[/name_u] for girls but I can’t use either because [name_u]Auden[/name_u] is my cousin’s name. She’s 10 years younger than me and lives across the country, but I only have two cousins so I can’t justify using it anyways, even as a middle. I like that both names are strong but still have some femininity to them. I also like that they’re uncommon which, if you have seen any of my popularity rants, you’ll know I care deeply about my kids not sharing their name with half of their tap class, like I do . I’d like to find names that are similar in style to these.
I don’t necessarily want unisex names, although I’m not opposed to them. I don’t like boy names on girls, however, and I don’t want anything ending with -son. I also don’t just want names similar in sound (posted on another site with that guideline but still got a list including [name_f]Audrey[/name_f], [name_u]Aubrey[/name_u], and [name_f]Aura[/name_f]). I’m more concerned with finding a similar style, especially since I wouldn’t be able to use the name anyways if it’s too close to [name_u]Auden[/name_u].
This is only to expand my list of girl names! It is not urgent at all. Please help the people who are expecting before me. Thank you!
