[name_f]My[/name_f] husband and I are lucky enough to get a first child in the middle of [name_u]August[/name_u], which is a girl. I can, for some reason, only find boy names that I like:
[name_u]August[/name_u]
[name_u]William[/name_u]
[name_m]Evander[/name_m]
I would like it be a name that is international but can be pronounced in [name_m]Denmark[/name_m] as well. [name_f]My[/name_f] husband likes shorter and very sweet names but none of them really resonates with me:
[name_f]Do[/name_f] you have an aesthetic you would especially like to capture with the name? Maybe we could come up with something that really matches it.
Right now it looks like something classical + a bit sweet?
I’m not sure about the two you’ve written about as I’m not great with pronunciations in [name_m]Danish[/name_m], but I did go through my family tree of girl names that are straight out of [name_m]Denmark[/name_m] (only back through the late 1500s).
I thought at first you were considering [name_m]Denmark[/name_m] as a name, like [name_f]India[/name_f] or [name_u]Kenya[/name_u] or innumerable other place names I was like, “Well, [name_u]Denny[/name_u] and [name_m]Mark[/name_m] are cute nicknames, I guess.”
[name_f]Audra[/name_f] - combines the Au of [name_u]August[/name_u] with the -a ending and short length of [name_f]Ava[/name_f] and [name_f]Nora[/name_f]
[name_f]Eva[/name_f] (EE-vuh) - Same beginning as [name_m]Evander[/name_m], short like [name_f]Ava[/name_f]
