Girl. two flower names?

Is it okay to put two flower names together as my daughters first and middle name?
[name_f]Calla[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f]??? [name_f]Calla[/name_f] is a name we love and [name_f]Violet[/name_f] was my great grandmother’s name.
My partner loves it and I do too but is a double flower too much? My middle names are two flowers too but my first isn’t.

I think it depends. If they were two really obvious, well-known flowers then maybe it would be too much, but I didn’t know [name_f]Calla[/name_f] was a flower, and I associate [name_f]Violet[/name_f] with the colour more than the flower, so for this combo, no I don’t think it’s too much. Overall, I think it’s a pretty name, flows well  x

I agree with the pp, especially because [name_f]Violet[/name_f]'s a family name and both are (to my mind) well-established as names. I think [name_f]Azalea[/name_f] [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f] would be too much, but [name_f]Calla[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f]'s lovely.

I agree with the others. [name_f]Calla[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f] works and is very pretty and sweet. [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] not so good, even though separately they are nice names.

[name_f]Calla[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f] works really well and flows nicely.

Not many people think of [name_f]Calla[/name_f] as a flower name right off the bat because most people only recognize it as part of calla [name_f]Lilly[/name_f]. So yeah, calla [name_f]Lilly[/name_f] would be too much! But [name_f]Calla[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f] is lovely. I’ve always loved [name_f]Calla[/name_f]

Thank you all so much for replying. I guess I always thought of [name_f]Calla[/name_f] as a flower because that’s why we choose it. It really does stand on its own though

Looking at the title thread I was thinking ‘not for me’ but seeing your actual name choice – seems fine to me! I agree with everyone else, no problem getting away with it as not everyone will think of calla lilies right away and [name_f]Violet[/name_f] isn’t exclusively a flower. It’s a lovely name.

I agree - there are many flower names that would be a no no to put together, but I wouldn’t immediately think of [name_f]Calla[/name_f] as a flower name and [name_f]Violet[/name_f] makes me think of the colour, not the flower. Go for it!

It usually doesn’t work for me. Maybe something like pairing [name_f]Veronica[/name_f] or [name_f]Linnea[/name_f] with a common flower name. Like [name_f]Veronica[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] works for me. Mostly because I’ve heard those as names so frequently that the flower imagery isn’t as strong. I would only double up on flowers if the names had so much meaning and even if that were the case I might just hope for 2 girls or brainstorm stuff like [name_f]Calla[/name_f]= [name_m]Callum[/name_m] or [name_f]Violet[/name_f]= [name_m]Victor[/name_m] [name_u]Leland[/name_u] or something. Maybe [name_f]Callista[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f]?

[name_f]Calla[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f] is pretty (tho it also sounds ever so slightly like ‘color violet’). I wouldn’t let it stop you from using it though. I think it is a pretty name that will get a lot more compliments than criticism. [name_f]Calla[/name_f] always makes me think of the name [name_f]Cassia[/name_f], which I also love (prn. CAH-sha).

I just noticed you are expecting twins. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you have the other name picked out? Is it not possible to divide the flowers between the two if you are worried about it? Or maybe it’s a boy… anyway, congrats!

[name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_f]Callie[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f]?

I think [name_f]Calla[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f] is a sweet name and it doesn’t look like a double flower name to me.
