Girls list for our little Sparrow.

Me & Hubs went through our previous name lists for our little [name]Sparrow[/name], and we cut down on the list a lot. Our list is currently:

Firsts:
[name]Althea[/name]
[name]Apolline[/name]
[name]Artemis[/name]
[name]Circe[/name]
[name]Cosima[/name]
[name]Ianthe[/name]
[name]Malin[/name]
[name]Xanthe[/name]

Middles:
[name]Dove[/name]
[name]Ever[/name]
Ruca
[name]Salome[/name]
Solace

My DH has been calling the baby [name]Sparrow[/name] affectionately and it’s stuck, so we did consider it for a middle name but we dont want to start a trend of having middles ending with -ow or -o, as our DD’s name is Senia [name]Hero[/name].

So, do you have any name suggestions and can you make any nice combos with our name list, we’ve been having trouble finding middle names that feel right to us and we like middles that have nice meanings too

Thank you in advance.

Ooh, I love [name]Xanthe[/name] and [name]Althea[/name]! I knew a girl named [name]Elethea[/name], I have always loved it, it may suit your style and it is quite similar to [name]Althea[/name]
[name]Sparrow[/name] is gorgeous! if you love it dont hold back on using it as a first name, good luck xo

[name]Althea[/name] [name]Dove[/name] is lovely - but I adore [name]Althea[/name] [name]Sparrow[/name]

My suggestions are [name]Cosima[/name] [name]Dove[/name], [name]Artemis[/name] [name]Dove[/name], [name]Circe[/name] [name]Salome[/name], [name]Apolline[/name] [name]Ever[/name]…

[name]Apolline[/name] [name]Ever[/name] and [name]Malin[/name] Solace are my favorites. I do love [name]Apolline[/name] [name]Sparrow[/name] though!

I like [name]Althea[/name] [name]Sparrow[/name]

[name]Althea[/name] [name]Sparrow[/name] is lovely

Wow, lucky girl! My husband would never go for those names.
[name]How[/name] about [name]Starling[/name] for the middle? Or [name]Rowan[/name]? It is has the row part from [name]Sparrow[/name].
I love [name]Thea[/name], so my pick is [name]Alethea[/name].

Oh, I just thought of something when I was responding to your boy’s names post.
Have you considered [name]Birdie[/name]?

brynie - [name]Elethea[/name] is pretty! We considered [name]Alethea[/name] too, but I’ve never heard [name]Elethea[/name] before. [name]Sparrow[/name] would make a pretty awesome first name, I agree, but we’re really fussy about starting a theme and our daughters name begins with S. Our daughter gets nicknamed Lamb which has nothing to do with her name so we might use [name]Sparrow[/name] as a nickname anyway!

beau123 - I love both. [name]Althea[/name] [name]Sparrow[/name] is really cute…

theclocktowerofjoy - I love all of your suggestions! [name]Apolline[/name] [name]Ever[/name] is actually my favourite combo right now, and I love [name]Circe[/name] [name]Salome[/name], it’s lovely to say!

tfzolghadr - [name]Artemis[/name] [name]Dove[/name] is really pretty! + the idea of [name]Sparrow[/name] as a middle name is growing on me, but I’m really concerned that any other children that we have would need -ow or -o ending middle names too, and I can’t think of many others that I like enough to use.

gwensmom - [name]Apolline[/name] [name]Ever[/name] is my favourite right now! I love it…

kdornfeld - I agree, it’s beautiful… Maybe I’m over thinking the ‘theme’ thing.

niteowl123 - My husband is pretty easy to convince too, which helps! [name]Starling[/name] is really nice! I also love [name]Rowan[/name]. We did consider the middle name [name]Bird[/name] but Dh wasn’t sold on it. Maybe [name]Birdie[/name] will be a different story, I will ask what he thinks!

Thanks for the replies so far!

[name]Xanthe[/name]! That is my favorite out of your list.

Firsts: I love Apolline, although I think [name]Apollonia[/name] is special too. [name]Artemis[/name] or [name]Artemisia[/name], for that matter. [name]Circe[/name] and [name]Cosima[/name] are great.
Ideas: [name]Cosima[/name] Ruca, [name]Apolline[/name] [name]Dove[/name]/[name]Ever[/name], [name]Artemis[/name]/ia [name]Salome[/name], [name]Circe[/name] Solace

[name]Circe[/name] Ruca would be my pick for you. [name]Circe[/name] means bird  It might be a bit rhymey with Senia though.

My favorite is [name]Althea[/name] [name]Dove[/name], which would also be meaningful and pretty.

Or also [name]Malin[/name] [name]Circe[/name] or [name]Althea[/name] [name]Circe[/name], using it as a middle to still have the meaning and origin.

Oooh… I like the name Ruca. Where is it from?

Your daughter’s name is pure awesomeness by the way.

[name]Cosima[/name] [name]Dove[/name] and
[name]Malin[/name] [name]Dove[/name]
are my faves. [name]Ever[/name] is nicely strong and spunky, but I’m not a big fan of Ev-names. [name]Sparrow[/name] wood be a good middle for [name]Malin[/name] or [name]Xanthe[/name] too.

Since you call her “little sparrow” I’m surprised no one has mentioned the French singer [name]Edith[/name] [name]Piaf[/name] (La Vie En [name]Rose[/name]). Her birth name was [name]Edith[/name] Gaisson, but was known as “la môme piaf”- French slang for “the little sparrow”. I’m not sure you would want to use [name]Piaf[/name] as a middle name, but perhaps another word for sparrow?

[name]Moineau[/name] (another French word for sparrow)
Passero (Italian)
Gorrión (Spanish)

It’s a lovely sentiment!

I suggest the name [name]Marin[/name]. I think it would sound lovely with Senia. You have great name style, Senia [name]Hero[/name] is absolutely gorgeous. I am sure your next child will have an equally as beautiful name! Congratulations!!
Xoxoxo

anissa7 - thanks! I love [name]Xanthe[/name] too! DH is concerned about pronunciation problems but I don’t think it is too much of a problem.

cristinamariane - [name]Apollonia[/name] is beautiful! Would consider it if our daughter’s name didnt end in -nia but it’s a great suggestion! [name]Artemisia[/name] is a beautiful suggestion too! I will ask hubby about that one, as her was concerned about [name]Artemis[/name] being to masculine.

kala_way - I love [name]Circe[/name] and I also worry about the ‘matchyness’ with Senia :frowning: [name]Althea[/name] [name]Dove[/name], [name]Malin[/name] [name]Circe[/name] & [name]Althea[/name] [name]Circe[/name] are all great suggestions! [name]Will[/name] definitely consider [name]Circe[/name] as a middle.

rowangreeneyes - Ruca was my DH’s Grandmothers name, we’re unsure of the origin though. And thank you for the lovely compliment! Your daughters name is beautiful

yael - [name]Cosima[/name] [name]Dove[/name] & [name]Malin[/name] [name]Dove[/name] are both lovely combos, I’m really loving [name]Dove[/name] as a middle name right now.

sillysheila - That’s a lovely idea! [name]Piaf[/name] looks interesting, how would you pronounce it? (just checking I’m pronouncing it right!) Mioneau & Pessero are also both beautiful, I never thought of looking for names meaning [name]Sparrow[/name]. Thank you!

shaelahtoba - [name]Marin[/name] is beautiful! I’ve always liked [name]Marina[/name] but my DH never liked it, I’ll see what he thinks of [name]Marin[/name]! And thank you for the lovely compliment, and I am also sure that we will eventually pick the perfect name! (hopefully!)

Again, Thanks for all of the replies so far! They’ve all been very helpful.

I like:

[name]Althea[/name] [name]Salome[/name]
[name]Cosima[/name] [name]Dove[/name]
[name]Ianthe[/name] [name]Ever[/name]
[name]Xanthe[/name] Solace

[name]Cosima[/name] [name]Dove[/name] is my favorite.

I love both [name]Cosima[/name] and [name]Apolline[/name]… please use one of these for me! I can’t get husband on board because he thinks they’re too unusual (but DD is [name]Eulalie[/name]! [name]Don[/name]'t know how I managed to get that over the line!).

[name]Love[/name] the nn options of [name]Apple[/name] and [name]Polly[/name]… and [name]Mim[/name] and [name]Coco[/name]!

Good luck!
