Girls name help please. Sisters Molly and Tilly

I have daughter [name_f]Molly[/name_f] and step-daughter [name_f]Tilly[/name_f] so looking for a girls name which will go with both.

So far we like:
[name_f]Amalia[/name_f] (we’re in the uk - is this too similar to the very popular [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]?)
[name_u]Alexis[/name_u] (nn would be [name_f]Ally[/name_f])
[name_f]Ally[/name_f] (like all girls would have the ‘lly’ connection but are they too ‘samey’?)
[name_f]Isabella[/name_f] (too popular?)
[name_f]Leah[/name_f]
[name_u]Hadley[/name_u]
[name_f]Grace[/name_f] (love this but is very popular in UK along with [name_f]Gracie[/name_f])
[name_u]Aubrey[/name_u]
[name_u]Genesis[/name_u]
[name_u]Cassidy[/name_u]

Last name is double barrelled.

Opinions on these names please? And whether which ones go best with [name_f]Molly[/name_f] and [name_f]Tilly[/name_f]?

Thank you!

I can see why you might want to continue the -lly theme, but I’d personally look to branch out. Two girls with a strong pattern like that feels like a coincidence (especially as they’re step-sisters); three feels matchy to the point of being a little twee.

[name_f]Isabella[/name_f] (could be [name_f]Bella[/name_f] for short, giving you the double L but with a different ending), [name_f]Leah[/name_f] and [name_f]Grace[/name_f] feel like natural sisters for [name_f]Molly[/name_f] and [name_f]Tilly[/name_f]. [name_u]Hadley[/name_u] also fits quite nicely in an unexpected sort of a way.

[name_f]Amalia[/name_f] is, in my opinion, both so close to [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] as to be constantly confused for it, and a little too close to [name_f]Molly[/name_f]. The others just feel like a very different style to me.

[name_m]How[/name_m] about:

[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f]
[name_f]Isla[/name_f]
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f]
[name_f]Alice[/name_f]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f]
[name_f]Elodie[/name_f]
[name_f]Luna[/name_f]
[name_f]Lola[/name_f]
[name_f]Poppy[/name_f]
[name_f]Daisy[/name_f]
[name_u]Haven[/name_u]
[name_u]Seren[/name_u]
[name_f]Stella[/name_f]
[name_f]Neve[/name_f]/[name_f]Niamh[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosa[/name_f]
[name_f]Pippa[/name_f]
[name_f]Sadie[/name_f]
[name_f]Alma[/name_f]
[name_f]Florence[/name_f]
[name_u]Ruby[/name_u]
[name_f]Jessa[/name_f]

My favorite is [name_u]Hadley[/name_u]! [name_u]Cassidy[/name_u] is also pretty cute.
[name_u]Alexis[/name_u] “[name_f]Ally[/name_f]” or just [name_f]Ally[/name_f] and [name_f]Amalia[/name_f] seem too close to your other girls’ names. I do think [name_f]Isabella[/name_f] and [name_f]Grace[/name_f] are too popular. I also would avoid [name_f]Leah[/name_f], because saying “[name_f]Molly[/name_f], [name_f]Tilly[/name_f], [name_f]Leah[/name_f]” sounds kind of awkward since it starts with a lee sound. I’d ignore it if [name_f]Leah[/name_f] was your favorite name ever but since it’s not I believe you have better options.

I love [name_f]Grace[/name_f] with your sister set. I like [name_u]Alexis[/name_u] used in full, but the nn [name_f]Ally[/name_f] might be too much. I second the suggestions of [name_f]Daisy[/name_f], [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], and [name_f]Stella[/name_f]. Some other ideas:
[name_u]Clare[/name_u]
[name_f]Abigail[/name_f] nn [name_u]Abby[/name_u]
[name_f]Jane[/name_f]
[name_f]Rose[/name_f]

I think samey is nice for siblings especially in a blended family. I think [name_f]Sally[/name_f] is the name you should go with. It’s a name on its own and it has the same old fashioned quality that [name_f]Molly[/name_f] and [name_f]Tilly[/name_f] do.

It depends if you’re having more kids? [name_m]Just[/name_m] this one and another -lly might be sweet but once four or more, it gets too cutesy and a bit strange.

I like [name_u]Hadley[/name_u] - as has same sound but different spelling. Otherwise, [name_f]Sally[/name_f], [name_u]Everly[/name_u] or [name_f]Ellie[/name_f].

[name_f]Amalia[/name_f] is close to [name_f]Molly[/name_f] esp if she gets [name_f]Mallie[/name_f] / Marley or [name_f]Millie[/name_f], instead of [name_f]Ammie[/name_f] or Amy, which she may well. [name_f]Leah[/name_f] seems weird with the [name_u]Lee[/name_u] now at the front?

I think [name_u]Alexis[/name_u] should be Alexie, [name_u]Lexie[/name_u] or [name_f]Lexa[/name_f] not Ally since the Lex part is the beauty of that name. Otherwise you might as well use [name_f]Alice[/name_f] or another [name_m]Al[/name_m] name.

[name_u]Cassidy[/name_u] is pretty cool but possibly too far from [name_f]Molly[/name_f] and [name_f]Tilly[/name_f]. Same with [name_u]Aubrey[/name_u] - though this name could work. [name_u]Genesis[/name_u] is too much of a wild card for me.

[name_f]Isabella[/name_f] and [name_f]Grace[/name_f] are very popular, [name_f]Isabella[/name_f] to me is especially too popular and I also think the name is too hefty and elaborate compared to the others which are both nickname-names.

If you do branch out, and I would myself unless there was a strong, additional reason within the family why important for girls to match so closely, how about (excuse repeats):

[name_f]Sophie[/name_f]
[name_f]Clara[/name_f]
[name_u]Ruby[/name_u]
[name_f]Amity[/name_f]
[name_f]Ivy[/name_f]
[name_u]Lou[/name_u]
[name_u]Avery[/name_u]
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f]
Iris
[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f]
[name_f]Lara[/name_f]
[name_f]Freya[/name_f]
[name_f]Noelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Stella[/name_f] (can use [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] too)
[name_f]Livia[/name_f] (nn [name_f]Livvy[/name_f]) - starts with a Lee too but not as prominently as Leah
[name_f]Zara[/name_f]
[name_f]Saffron[/name_f]
[name_f]Daphne[/name_f]
[name_f]Georgia[/name_f]
[name_f]Hattie[/name_f]

These are all sweet names like Molly and Tilly but gives a bit more room to move and balance if not all matchy. If you’re set on one of yours, I would choose [name_u]Hadley[/name_u] or [name_u]Aubrey[/name_u].

I agree with pp that with [name_f]Molly[/name_f] and [name_f]Tilly[/name_f] I would avoid [name_f]Ally[/name_f], its way to matchy and then makes it a pattern your stuck in. [name_f]Amalia[/name_f] and [name_f]Molly[/name_f] are also very close.

From your list, I like [name_u]Hadley[/name_u], [name_u]Aubrey[/name_u], [name_f]Grace[/name_f]/[name_f]Gracie[/name_f] and [name_u]Cassidy[/name_u].

Other suggestions: (sorry for any repeats)
[name_f]Luna[/name_f]
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f]
[name_f]Noelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Sophie[/name_f]
[name_f]Nora[/name_f]
[name_f]Alice[/name_f]
[name_f]Emma[/name_f]
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f]
[name_u]Ruby[/name_u]
[name_f]Poppy[/name_f]
[name_f]Lena[/name_f]
[name_f]Eva[/name_f]/[name_f]Evie[/name_f]

From your list, my favorite by far is [name_u]Hadley[/name_u]. It has the same short-but-sweet spunk of your other daughters’ names. Second would be [name_u]Cassidy[/name_u]. From previous replies, my favorites are [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f], [name_f]Poppy[/name_f], and [name_f]Lucy[/name_f].

[name_m]How[/name_m] about:

[name_f]Hattie[/name_f]/Haddie
[name_f]Edie[/name_f]
[name_f]Daisy[/name_f]
[name_u]Laney[/name_u]
[name_u]Ainsley[/name_u]
[name_f]Lily[/name_f]
[name_u]Shelly[/name_u]
[name_f]Annie[/name_f] (Could be a nickname for a longer version of [name_f]Anne[/name_f], such as [name_f]Anneliese[/name_f], [name_f]Annika[/name_f], etc.)
[name_f]Cally[/name_f]
[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helped, and best of luck! Please update us whenever possible.

I like [name_f]Hayley[/name_f] better than [name_u]Hadley[/name_u] and think it goes well with [name_f]Molly[/name_f] and [name_f]Tilly[/name_f].

Another vote for [name_f]Grace[/name_f]. [name_f]Molly[/name_f] and [name_f]Tilly[/name_f] both have a vintage feel which most of the other names on your list don’t share. Second choice would be [name_u]Hadley[/name_u] or [name_u]Cassidy[/name_u] which have a rustic vibe that could work. I also like [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], [name_f]Sadie[/name_f], [name_f]Hattie[/name_f], and [name_f]Abigail[/name_f] from pps.

[name_f]Elsie[/name_f]
[name_f]Fay[/name_f]
[name_u]Josie[/name_u]
[name_u]June[/name_u]
[name_f]Laurel[/name_f]
[name_f]Susannah[/name_f] nn [name_f]Sukie[/name_f]

Another vote for [name_f]Grace[/name_f]! I also like the suggestions of [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], [name_f]Alice[/name_f], [name_f]Rose[/name_f] and [name_f]Jane[/name_f].

I like [name_f]Isabella[/name_f] best, though it is fancier than [name_f]Molly[/name_f] & [name_f]Tilly[/name_f], it still has the -ll sound you’re after.

[name_f]Leah[/name_f] is also nice. [name_f]Grace[/name_f] is OK, but as you said, very popular

Not fond of [name_f]Amalia[/name_f], [name_f]Ally[/name_f] (way to samey), [name_u]Alexis[/name_u] (I picture Dynasty-size shoulder pads from the 1980’s)

I don’t like these names at all…
[name_u]Hadley[/name_u]
[name_u]Aubrey[/name_u]
[name_u]Genesis[/name_u]
[name_u]Cassidy[/name_u]

[name_f]Molly[/name_f], [name_f]Tilly[/name_f] and [name_f]Leah[/name_f]!

I think [name_f]Isabella[/name_f] is the best choice without being too matchy with [name_f]Molly[/name_f] and [name_f]Tilly[/name_f]. I would even go with [name_f]Isabel[/name_f] or [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f].

My vote is for [name_f]Molly[/name_f], [name_f]Tilly[/name_f], and [name_f]Grace[/name_f] OR [name_f]Molly[/name_f], [name_f]Tilly[/name_f], and [name_u]Alexis[/name_u]. [name_f]Molly[/name_f] and [name_f]Tilly[/name_f] sound so sweet together. Good luck!

From your list I like [name_f]Grace[/name_f] and [name_u]Cassidy[/name_u] ([name_f]Cassie[/name_f]) with [name_f]Tilly[/name_f] and [name_f]Molly[/name_f]

[name_f]Belle[/name_f]
[name_f]Lacey[/name_f]
[name_u]Shelby[/name_u]
[name_f]Faye[/name_f]
[name_u]Bailey[/name_u]
[name_f]Chloe[/name_f]
[name_f]Claire[/name_f]

I like [name_f]Molly[/name_f], [name_f]Tilly[/name_f], and [name_f]Leah[/name_f]. What about [name_f]Cassie[/name_f] instead of [name_u]Cassidy[/name_u]?

For me anything w/more than two syllables doesn’t sound right w/[name_f]Molly[/name_f] & [name_f]Tilly[/name_f]. What about (please excuse repeats):

[name_f]Sophie[/name_f] (might be a bit too “fancy”?)
[name_f]Jessa[/name_f]/[name_u]Jessie[/name_u]
[name_f]Luna[/name_f]
[name_f]Lyra[/name_f] (LIE-rah)
[name_u]Josie[/name_u]/[name_f]Josey[/name_f]
[name_u]Abby[/name_u]/[name_u]Abbey[/name_u] (or [name_f]Abigail[/name_f] nn [name_u]Abby[/name_u] if [name_f]Tilly[/name_f] is a nn for [name_f]Mathilda[/name_f] or another longer name)
[name_f]Bella[/name_f]
[name_u]Isa[/name_u] (EYESS-sah)
[name_f]Lara[/name_f]
[name_f]Jennie[/name_f]/[name_f]Jenny[/name_f]/[name_f]Jenna[/name_f]
[name_u]Ruby[/name_u]
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f]/[name_f]Lucie[/name_f]
[name_f]Callie[/name_f]
[name_f]Ella[/name_f]
[name_u]Neely[/name_u]

As some people have mentioned before and though they are not on your list, I like [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] and [name_u]Ruby[/name_u]. Names that flow with [name_f]Molly[/name_f] and [name_f]Tilly[/name_f], but not overly matchy matchy.

If you’d like to keep the double L sound going, possibly:

[name_f]Noelle[/name_f]-Noelly (sounds like No-lee)
[name_f]Hallie[/name_f]
[name_u]Kelly[/name_u]
[name_f]Ellie[/name_f]
[name_f]Callie[/name_f]
[name_u]Allie[/name_u]
Collbie
[name_u]Bellamy[/name_u]
