I am determined to find the right baby girl name combos. I do not have a specific style I just go with what I like. I know I like unusual but functional. So lets try this again since I have been all over the place. I thought I found THE [name]ONE[/name] but that was shortly lived do to the names background.
Our choice went from [name]Orchid[/name] [name]Aurora[/name] to now nothing. We did like [name]Delilah[/name] [name]June[/name] at one point but is [name]Delilah[/name] becoming too popular? And my BF was not really loving it. Our boy combos were so simple and easy to pick. They are set in stone and ready to go.
So new name suggestions and combos for the girl side would be greatly appreciated. The last name sounds like Shamrock but is not that. Its the closet name that I can think of to describe the last name haha…Also I do not really like nicknames or obvious nicknames for example how [name]Kaitlyn[/name] can be turned into [name]Kate[/name] etc. Here is the new list so far…
[name]Ithaca[/name]-boyfriend surprisingly liked this but no idea what middle would go well with it? [name]Aurora[/name] [name]Orchid[/name]-Berries came up with the reverse combo and it is kind of growing on me. But is [name]Aurora[/name] becoming too popular? Plus I don’t know how much I love it. [name]Tulip[/name]- Cant figure out a middle name [name]Ivy[/name]-Possibility [name]Lola[/name] Malibu- Maybe??? [name]Petra[/name] [name]Aurora[/name]- [name]How[/name] would you say [name]Petra[/name]? [name]Petra[/name]- other middle suggestions. [name]Birdie[/name]- middle name option? [name]Apple[/name]- I know [name]Gwen[/name] named her daughter this but I kind of like it. [name]Ruby[/name]- would want a fun middle to go with this. Is [name]Ruby[/name] becoming popular? [name]Daisy[/name]- would [name]Blossom[/name] work or something fun to go with it.
Middles I like:
[name]Bleu[/name]- [name]Love[/name] the French variation of this.
[name]Rose[/name]- typical and over used but it is my favorite flower. I even have tattoos of roses.
[name]Honey[/name]
[name]Blossom[/name]
[name]June[/name]
[name]Juliet[/name]- Family name
[name]Belle[/name]
[name]Isobel[/name]
Any other options or combos would be greatly appreciated since I am feeling totally defeated and not having that “this is THE [name]ONE[/name] moment.”
I really like [name]Ithaca[/name] [name]Petra[/name] or [name]Petra[/name] [name]Ithaca[/name]. Never thought to use [name]Ithaca[/name] before, but I think it’s really cute. Aslo, I still love [name]Aurora[/name] [name]Orchid[/name]. Popular, yes. But I don’t think it’ll be really popular (like [name]Isabella[/name], [name]Sophia[/name], etc).
[name]Birdie[/name] [name]Bleu[/name]- too cutesy?
[name]Ivy[/name] [name]Isobel[/name]
[name]Ithaca[/name] [name]Belle[/name]
[name]Ithaca[/name] [name]June[/name]
For most people I wouldn’t recommend [name]Tulip[/name], but seeing as how you’re pretty bold with the flower love, it might work: [name]Tulip[/name] [name]Bleu[/name]/[name]Tulip[/name] [name]Belle[/name]?
[name]Ithaca[/name] was definitely the most interesting name you put up there. It would get you some ‘wtf?’ reactions, but I think it’s a really neat name.
[name]Ithaca[/name] [name]June[/name]
[name]Ithaca[/name] [name]Ivy[/name]
[name]Ithaca[/name] [name]Bleu[/name]
Since you seem to be attracted to more unusual, quirky names, I would pass on [name]Ruby[/name], [name]Ivy[/name], and [name]Daisy[/name], as lovely as I find them. They’re all in the 100-200 range for popularity, and the first two will probably keep rising ([name]Ruby[/name]'s just about to crack the Top 100). That definitely doesn’t make them ubiquitous, but you’ll probably run into a [name]Ruby[/name], [name]Ivy[/name], or [name]Daisy[/name] every now and then.
I really love [name]Petra[/name] (PEHT-rə). [name]Petra[/name] [name]Rose[/name] and [name]Petra[/name] [name]Juliet[/name] are just darling, in my opinion.
Ahh, glad you spotted [name]Ithaca[/name] on my post on your other thread! hmm, perhaps [name]Vivica[/name] or [name]Thalassa[/name] might be of interest as well?
I like that name the best on your list, also, it seems to be the type of name you’re looking for.
I am actually loving [name]BIRDIE[/name] [name]BLEU[/name] from your list.
[name]Ithaca[/name] was mentioned by a berry but not sure if [name]Belle[/name] and [name]June[/name] mesh well.
I really like unusual, adventurous, yet usable.
I like [name]TULIP[/name] [name]BELLE[/name]! and [name]TULIP[/name] [name]BLEU[/name], What about [name]TULIP[/name] [name]ISOBEL[/name]!? Also does TULIP BELLE and TULIP BLEU flow well? I feel like I have to pause after saying TULIP and then continue into BELLE or BLEU.
ITHACA IVY is not bad
and ITHACA JUNE is not either not sure I am loving it.
[name]How[/name] do you say [name]Petra[/name]? Like [name]Pet[/name]-rah or Pee-trah?
I literally said the name to my boyfriend as a joke to see and his eyes lit up and he actually liked it. He also went to college at [name]Ithaca[/name] College in NY. So it does have meaning to him.
Would [name]ITHACA[/name] [name]ROSE[/name] or too safe sounding against [name]ITHACA[/name]?
[name]ITHACA[/name] [name]ORCHID[/name] is not bad but not loving it.
So far from all the names mentioned I am liking:
[name]Tulip[/name]- but not sure [name]Bleu[/name] or [name]Belle[/name] mesh well since the transition into the middle name seems rough.
[name]Tulip[/name] [name]Isobel[/name]- Does this work better?
[name]Tulip[/name] [name]Juliet[/name]- Does this work at all?
[name]Ithaca[/name] [name]Ivy[/name]- has a neat vibe too it.
[name]Ithaca[/name] [name]Belle[/name]- Not bad but not in love.
[name]Ithaca[/name] [name]Rose[/name]?-Yay or nay?
[name]Ithaca[/name] [name]Petra[/name]- Still trying to figure out how you say [name]Petra[/name]
[name]Birdie[/name] [name]Bleu[/name]- [name]Love[/name] this I think it is super cute.
[name]Aurora[/name] [name]Orchid[/name]- still on the list just nervous about popularity.
[name]NEW[/name] COMBO I [name]JUST[/name] THOUGHT OF: [name]Starling[/name] [name]Rose[/name]
More opinions are greatly appreciated and thank you for helping me with this!
I think [name]Ithaca[/name] [name]Rose[/name] is lovely! [name]Rose[/name] grounds [name]Ithaca[/name] and enhances it. [name]Even[/name] though it may not be the most inspiring middle name, [name]Ithaca[/name] is so unusual, even the plainest, most overused middle names would sound lovely with it.
I love the sound of [name]Ithaca[/name] [name]Ivy[/name] as well. I think the alliteration works extremely well and both names have such a mysterious vibe to them.
I agree that is my only concern. [name]Rose[/name] has been used so many times. But it is my favorite flower and I have tattoos of roses. Also I like how you said it kind of grounds the name. [name]Ithaca[/name] [name]Ivy[/name] has a whole other vibe going. I agree with the mysterious and its more non traditional vibe.
I think [name]Petra[/name] may be out I am not loving it and can’t picture myself saying it or using it when talking about our future child.
[name]Do[/name] you like [name]Starling[/name] [name]Rose[/name]?
[name]Tulip[/name]- my boyfriend prefers Isobel over Juliet.
[name]Birdie[/name] [name]Bleu[/name]- is the cutesy dial being turned up a bad thing or its a preference or person?
[name]Aurora[/name] [name]Orchid[/name] has definitely grown on me a lot since the berries have mentioned the combo. I could not go with [name]Orchid[/name] as a first due to its other meaning. It would just feel wrong. I can see myself calling our future child that if it is a girl.
[name]Starling[/name] [name]Rose[/name]- He just vetoed that one.
You pronounce [name]Ithaca[/name] like: Ith-ah-ka or Ith-the-ka like tay2thestars said.
Have you considered some of the [name]Rose[/name] variations? I personally think that [name]Rose[/name] herself is queen and loveliest of all, but there are some nice alternatives that aren’t as popular.
Trying to stay away from the more obvious ones…
[name]Ithaca[/name] [name]Rosine[/name]
[name]Ithaca[/name] [name]Roselle[/name]
[name]Ithaca[/name] [name]Rosemarie[/name]
[name]Ithaca[/name] [name]Primrose[/name]
[name]Ithaca[/name] [name]Raizel[/name] (Hebrew; meaning rose)
[name]Ithaca[/name] [name]Rasine[/name] (Polish; meaning rose)
[name]Both[/name] [name]Ivy[/name] and [name]Rose[/name] are amazing with [name]Ithaca[/name]; it’s so difficult to choose my favorite. [name]Ithaca[/name] [name]Ivy[/name] [name]Rose[/name] actually looks quite lovely, but perhaps too much nature? But between [name]Ithaca[/name] [name]Ivy[/name] and [name]Ithaca[/name] [name]Rose[/name]…I’d have to lean ever so slightly to [name]Ithaca[/name] [name]Ivy[/name], just because of that vibe it gives off.
[name]Starling[/name] [name]Rose[/name] is pretty and actually, I think [name]Ithaca[/name] and [name]Starling[/name] would be an adorable sister set! That being said, I feel like [name]Rose[/name] belongs to [name]Ithaca[/name] (if [name]Ivy[/name] doesn’t ). From your name list, I must say that the combo [name]Starling[/name] [name]Aurora[/name] is simply jaw-dropping for me. [name]Ithaca[/name] [name]Ivy[/name]/[name]Rose[/name] and [name]Starling[/name] [name]Aurora[/name]…[name]Love[/name] it!!!
Seconding Sweet’s suggestion of [name]Aurelia[/name] [name]Orchid[/name]. Much better flow, less R-heavy. Still über-feminine and romantic.
[name]Aurora[/name] [name]Juliet[/name] is another option, but it’s very ballerina-ish.
I dislike [name]Ithaca[/name], sorry. As a [name]New[/name] Yorker, I think of the town of [name]Ithaca[/name], upstate, and [name]Cornell[/name], before I think of [name]Odysseus[/name]. Plus, it kind of contains the word “thick.”
If I had it my way I would have names picked out already. He is much more safe but can be adventurous. He vetoed [name]Starling[/name] because it reminds him of [name]Sterling[/name]. And he is now feeling weird about [name]Ithaca[/name] because he is actually wearing shorts from college that say [name]Ithaca[/name]. He thinks it may be weird to say “oh my daughter is named after the school I went too.” Ugh! Men are so difficult.
We are [name]New[/name] Yorkers as well and he went to [name]Ithaca[/name] College. So [name]Ithaca[/name] is out anyway because of that and he said he would feel weird calling our child that.
I am not sure if I like [name]Aurelia[/name] over [name]Aurora[/name]. But then again I did not like [name]Aurora[/name] [name]Orchid[/name] at first so it could grow on me!
Since you are open to different types of names I have to say [name]Winter[/name] [name]Ivy[/name], [name]Winter[/name] [name]Rose[/name], or [name]Sparrow[/name] [name]Rose[/name]. I also love the name [name]Sage[/name]. As you can see by my posting name
