  2. [name_f]Hope[/name_f] or [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] or [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f]
  3. [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] or [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] or [name_u]Madison[/name_u]
  4. [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] or [name_f]Anabel[/name_f] or [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]

Hah! I am actually making my short list where I have a range of names for personality types. I realized that my list was overly filled with Child 2 or 4 and because when I went in with the short list with my son and having to resurrect a name from the longer list because the names on my short list didn’t suit him! I’ve got the girls list down but the boy list is a work in progress. There is some overlap. Interesting thing is your 4 numbers correspond pretty well to how I divided them up. I was less specific though, only using two temperament traits.

Wow I love the responses thank you guys. I find this so interesting.
anaxandra-I love your boys list for number 4! (Similar to my own style)
breannajai-I agree with many of your names!
Mine are:
My picks for girls…
Child one-I think of Felicity, Cleo or Lola (Spunky/fun names)
Child two-Fern, Arden or Indigo (Nature/word names came to mind)
Child three-Hadley, Margo or Stella (More serious names or a different take on spunky names)
Child four-Imogen, Penelope or Alice (Regal names or vintage names).
I like all the styles for different reasons. But I think deep down I am perhaps a type 4 namer.

Child I - [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] comes to mind. For some reason, I picture a short name. So, maybe something just as bouncy and energetic as [name_f]Liv[/name_f], [name_f]Ava[/name_f], [name_f]Suri[/name_f], [name_f]Poppy[/name_f], [name_f]Pippa[/name_f], [name_f]Veronica[/name_f] nn “[name_u]Ronnie[/name_u]”, chuckles [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] (though that’s very unlike me), [name_f]Zara[/name_f].

Child II - Something soft, long, elegant and lacey sounds appropriate: [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f], [name_f]Arabella[/name_f], [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f], [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] nn “[name_u]Penny[/name_u]”, [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f], [name_f]Caroline[/name_f], nn “[name_f]Millie[/name_f]”, [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f], [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f], [name_f]Helena[/name_f]; or even [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], [name_f]Margo[/name_f], [name_f]Gracie[/name_f], or [name_f]Lacey[/name_f].

Child III - Needs something just as loud as her; something that’ll get your attention and make a statement, unforgettable: [name_f]Esperanza[/name_f] (nn ‘Esper’?), [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f], [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f], [name_f]Juno[/name_f], Peresphone (nn ‘Persie’?), [name_f]Cassiopeia[/name_f] (nn ‘[name_f]Cassie[/name_f]’?), [name_f]Octavia[/name_f], [name_f]Philomena[/name_f] or [name_f]Philomela[/name_f] nn “[name_f]Pippa[/name_f]”, [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f]/[name_f]Seraphine[/name_f], [name_f]Florence[/name_f], [name_u]Quincy[/name_u], [name_f]Zora[/name_f].

Child IV - [name_f]Ramona[/name_f]. Hands down. But, here are some other suggestions: [name_f]Paige[/name_f], [name_f]Livia[/name_f], [name_u]Francis[/name_u]/[name_f]Frances[/name_f] (nn ‘[name_u]Fran[/name_u]’?), [name_f]Clarice[/name_f]/[name_f]Clarisse[/name_f], [name_f]Elsa[/name_f], [name_f]Elise[/name_f], [name_f]Elaine[/name_f]/[name_f]Eliana[/name_f], [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f], [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f], [name_f]Georgina[/name_f], [name_f]Julia[/name_f], [name_f]Edith[/name_f], [name_f]Judith[/name_f] (nn ‘[name_f]Judy[/name_f]’?), [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] (nn ‘[name_f]Della[/name_f]’?), [name_f]Isobel[/name_f], [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f].

I favor the group 4 names too, although it’s a bonus if they have a type 1 nickname. [name_f]My[/name_f] daughter is an [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] who is currently called [name_f]Ella[/name_f]. :stuck_out_tongue:

I’ve been thinking a bit more about the why and what of how I divided them up. I didn’t really spend a whole lot of time on it as my goal was just to make sure I covered a range of personality types rather than typecasting my kids. The Thomas and Chess temperament traits are the the ones I used, since they translate the best to baby behavior. That’s what they use in a number of my baby care books. I used Activity and Initial Approach, the first one is kind of like introvert/extrovert and the second like how inhibited they are…but I also realized that I kind of mixed in mood (as in, generally happy or generally irritable). So type one I considered extroverted, cheerful and less inhibited. Type 2 introverted, cheerful and more inhibited (or the type discussed in the book ‘The Highly Sensitive Child’ Type 3 I corresponded to extroverted, more negative (or as I like to put it argumentative) and less inhibited Type 4 I had as introverted, more negative and inhibited. One thing I’ve noticed is that I tend to give extroverts what are in my head “high energy” sounds, like ‘s’, ‘z’, ‘v’, while more introverted I seem to like “softer” sounds like ‘l’, ‘th’ and ‘r’. Other than that I can only guess most of what I picked is based of an accumulation of associations.
