Okay berries, so tell me the girls names you like for boys! That might include girls names that used to belong to the boys ([name_u]Meredith[/name_u], [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u]) or even girls names that work for boys too (e.g. [name_f]Juno[/name_f]… because it fits with the other -o ending names for boys like [name_m]Milo[/name_m], [name_m]Leo[/name_m], [name_u]Arlo[/name_u]).
[name_f]Juno[/name_f] – I really wanted our new puppy to be named [name_f]Juno[/name_f], to which my OH replied “are you crazy, we can’t give her a boys’ name!”. I explained to him that it’s a girl name, but he insists that it’s too masculine. I have to admit I can see it working really well on a boy!
[name_u]Seren[/name_u] – [name_m]Just[/name_m] really love this on a boy.
[name_f]Estel[/name_f] – Tolkien fan here…
[name_f]Laurel[/name_f] and [name_u]Lauri[/name_u]
[name_u]Leigh[/name_u]
[name_f]Marin[/name_f]
[name_f]Holly[/name_f]
[name_f]Willow[/name_f]
[name_u]Madison[/name_u] - I love it soooo much, but ONLY on a boy (I’m planning on using it as a middle name in the future).
[name_f]Juno[/name_f]- To me, it fits better on a boy.
Some of the names I like better as boys’ names : [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u], [name_f]Laurel[/name_f], [name_u]Morgan[/name_u], [name_f]Marin[/name_f], [name_u]Kelly[/name_u], [name_u]Meredith[/name_u] and in [name_m]French[/name_m], [name_f]Camille[/name_f].
I like a lot of female-leaning unisex names just as much, if not more, on a boy:
[name_u]Juniper[/name_u]
[name_u]Wren[/name_u]
[name_u]Rue[/name_u]
[name_u]Robin[/name_u] (OK, it’s the [name_f]Robyn[/name_f] spelling, but this is much more popular for girls at the moment in the UK)
[name_u]Cass[/name_u]
[name_u]Jess[/name_u]
I quite like [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u], [name_f]Laurel[/name_f] and [name_u]Kelly[/name_u] for boys too, as well as [name_f]Islay[/name_f], [name_u]Nicola[/name_u], [name_u]Andrea[/name_u], [name_u]Sasha[/name_u], [name_u]Misha[/name_u] and other similar foreign imports.
[name_u]Casey[/name_u] is one of my favorites for a boy, but DH says it’s too girly! I feel nothing much cowboy-ish masculinity when I hear it though! Others are [name_u]Morgan[/name_u], [name_u]Robin[/name_u],Jordan, and [name_u]Sidney[/name_u]. All are technically unisex, but they seem to only be found on girls nowadays especially because of people like my DH who like to carry on the gender inequality.
I’m not going to talk about the unisex names (i.e. [name_u]Quinn[/name_u], [name_u]Dara[/name_u], [name_u]Sydney[/name_u], [name_u]Robin[/name_u], [name_u]Ashley[/name_u] etc) - only the names that are originally female that I would like to see on a boy:
[name_u]Seren[/name_u]
[name_f]Kenna[/name_f]
[name_f]Olive[/name_f] (not a huge fan of [name_m]Oliver[/name_m], but I think [name_f]Olive[/name_f] works on a boy as much as on a girl)
Zennor
[name_f]Blythe[/name_f] (AOGG reference)
[name_f]Aphra[/name_f]
[name_f]Grainne[/name_f]
[name_f]Hedy[/name_f]
[name_f]Ethel[/name_f] (although I guess this is technically unisex if you went all the way back to Ethelred the Great etc)
[name_f]Martine[/name_f]
[name_f]Valerie[/name_f]
[name_u]November[/name_u]
[name_f]Lotus[/name_f]
[name_f]Lapis[/name_f]
[name_u]Teagan[/name_u]
[name_u]Halley[/name_u]
