We have long been set on options for boys- [name_m]Otis[/name_m] or [name_m]Otto[/name_m], and [name_m]Rufus[/name_m].

However, for some reason girls are an issue for us! We are constantly changing our minds all the time and just would love some feedback on the following names- which are your favourites and why? Which do you not like and why? What feeling do the names give?

I like fresh and spunky names, or longer names which have a fresh and spunky nickname. The ideal girls name would seem smart, light, interesting and unique!

I adore your boy names so much, and your girl’s list is beautiful :))
i’ll give my thoughts and feelings!!:

Posy - Super sweet and feminine. I struggle to imagine this on an adult though as it feels very ‘cute’.

Alba - [name_f]Lovely[/name_f], elegant yet strong name. Has a regal feel to it which is gorgeous. Fits in well with [name_f]Ava[/name_f], [name_f]Ada[/name_f] , [name_f]Ayla[/name_f] etc.

Genevieve ([name_f]Neve[/name_f]) - one of my favourite names!! Soooo beautiful and elegant. NN [name_f]Neve[/name_f] is really cool and gives it a sweet, spunky feel :))

Delilah ([name_f]Della[/name_f]) - Another one of my favourite names, such a sweet and charming sound. [name_f]Della[/name_f] is also a beautiful nn.

Nellie - I prefer this as a nn for [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] or [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] etc. However it is super lovely and sweet.

Isadora ([name_f]Zadie[/name_f]) Again, one of my favourite names!! [name_f]Zadie[/name_f] makes it feel cool and modern in the best way. [name_f]My[/name_f] favourite nickname would be [name_f]Dora[/name_f] for a vintage charm.

Zelda - mmm not a huge fan of this one, it feels too much like a character name for me. And has quite harsh sounds.

Winnie - like [name_f]Nellie[/name_f], I prefer as a nn for a full name but honestly [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] is so sweet and charming!

Zadie - This has been growing on me lately, a nice alternative to [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] (which I don’t like as much).

Zola - Not a huge fan of this one the sound doesn’t appeal to me.

Sylvie - [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] is beautiful and elegant, live it.

Saskia ([name_f]Suki[/name_f]) - I love [name_f]Saskia[/name_f], not massive keen on [name_f]Suki[/name_f] as a nn but it definitely works!

Posy- [name_f]Posy[/name_f] is sweet!

Alba- I’m happy to see this name! I think it would be perfect.

Genevieve- This is pretty and classic (and seems slightly more solemn than your other girl names).

Delilah- This is pretty! It is seen as a hipster trend, though, if that bothers you.

Nellie- I prefer this as a nickname to [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] or [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f].

Isadora- [name_f]Lovely[/name_f]! Pretty and strong.

Zelda- I quite like this! I don’t see it as quite as fantastical and adventurous as some do because for me this is a family name for a much older relative (who is sadly not here anymore), so I think it is very usable.

Winnie- Prefer as a nickname.

Zadie- Prefer as a nickname.

Zola- I like this pretty well (but I do prefer [name_f]Nola[/name_f] as a name that sounds very similar).

Sylvie- This seems to fit your criteria very well. It’s an established nickname-ish name, and it’s sweet and spunky.

Saskia- While not my personal favorite, it seems like it could work for you!

I love [name_f]Isadora[/name_f], [name_f]Saskia[/name_f] (nn [name_f]Suki[/name_f]-wow!!) and [name_f]Delilah[/name_f]!!

I love [name_f]Alba[/name_f], [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] and [name_f]Saskia[/name_f] and think all three work well with [name_m]Otto[/name_m]/Otis and [name_m]Rufus[/name_m]. Actually, I like most of your names - the only two I don’t are [name_f]Nellie[/name_f] (but I love [name_f]Nell[/name_f]) and [name_f]Isadora[/name_f] (but I like [name_f]Zadie[/name_f]). I’m also not a massive fan of [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f], but I do very much understand the appeal.

I love [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f], [name_f]Isadora[/name_f] and [name_u]Zola[/name_u]. [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] is timeless and elegant (probably the best fit alongside your boy names), with lots of nickname options. [name_f]Isadora[/name_f] is unusual and interesting but has a certain familiarity to it because of the popular [name_f]Isabella[/name_f] trend. [name_u]Zola[/name_u] is bubbly and unique and I adore the way it sounds!

Here’s my favorite to least favorite-

Nellie-Generally I prefer this as a nn for [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]…also [name_f]Penelope[/name_f], [name_f]Eleanora[/name_f] or [name_f]Ellen[/name_f] are also cute. But I love [name_f]Nellie[/name_f] so much that it’s still my favorite nn or full name. It’s totally vintage yet fresh, lovable, spunky & sweet.

Winnie-Basically I feel the same way here as I do for [name_f]Nellie[/name_f]. But I love [name_f]Nellie[/name_f] slightly more. [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] is interesting, spunky, old fashioned & just fun. I do also like this as a nn though. So many great [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] full names. [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] is the obvious one, which is a bit clunky in my opinion. But then there’s [name_f]Anwen[/name_f], [name_f]Arwen[/name_f], [name_f]Branwen[/name_f], [name_f]Ceridwen[/name_f], [name_f]Elowen[/name_f], [name_f]Gwendolen[/name_f], [name_f]Morwenna[/name_f], or [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f].

Sylvie-Another adorable spunky vintage name that I prefer as a nn but isn’t terrible on its own. [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f] just seems a bit more to be taken seriously as an adult.

Isadora ([name_f]Zadie[/name_f])-That’s really fun & unique. I haven’t thought of [name_f]Zadie[/name_f] as a nn for [name_f]Isadora[/name_f], but it’s interesting, old fashioned & unique.

Posy-Super sweet. Maybe too sweet for a grown up though. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you like [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]/Josephina nn [name_f]Posy[/name_f]?

Saskia ([name_f]Suki[/name_f])-Not my personal favorite, but it’s different & not a bad name. [name_f]Suki[/name_f] is kind of a fun different nn.

Zelda-I really like [name_f]Zella[/name_f], but for some reason [name_f]Zelda[/name_f] sounds heavy to me. It’s not bad though. [name_m]Just[/name_m] not my cup of tea.

Genevieve ([name_f]Neve[/name_f])-This is fine. [name_m]Just[/name_m] a little fussy. Others seem to love it. I do like [name_f]Neve[/name_f] a lot.

Zola-Not my cup of tea, but it’s not bad.

Delilah ([name_f]Della[/name_f])-I don’t mind [name_f]Della[/name_f], but it seems a bit of a stretch as a nn. And I don’t care for [name_f]Delilah[/name_f]. It’s too frilly.

Alba-I don’t know why I don’t care for this. I just don’t think that it has a pretty sound. It’s not bad though . It’s unique & not super offensive.

Posy - I can’t imagine this on anyone older than a toddler, but love [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] nn [name_f]Posy[/name_f] and that was my first thought.

Alba - I prefer [name_f]Alma[/name_f]. [name_f]Alba[/name_f] makes me think of [name_f]Scotland[/name_f] (it’s the Gaelic name), but I’m well aware many people won’t know this.

Genevieve - I love it and it’s wealth of nicknames!

Delilah - “hey there [name_f]Delilah[/name_f]…” is my association with this name!

Nellie - also can’t imagine this on anyone older than a few years old. Nickname for [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] or [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]?

Isadora - I like this, [name_f]Zadie[/name_f] isn’t a nn I’ve heard for it before, but I like it.

Zelda - [name_u]Legend[/name_u] of…

Winnie - I really love [name_f]Winnie[/name_f], but I can’t get over the [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] the Pooh association. What about [name_f]Anwen[/name_f]/Brownen/Winter/Winona for a full name?

Zola - makes me think of cola!

Sylvie - very vintage and sweet.

Saskia - I like it

My favourites would be:
[name_f]Josephine[/name_f] nn [name_f]Posy[/name_f]
[name_f]Winnie[/name_f] - with a full name (can’t decide which!)
[name_f]Sylvie[/name_f]

Posy is adorable. This name to me works better with younger children, I think it’s a little too “cute” after age 7.

Genevieve is so cute! I love it and I know a little girl named [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] that goes by genny.

Zola reminds me of [name_u]Grey[/name_u]’s Anatomy (one of the kids of the main character) but I love the name. I think it’ll age well like [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f].

As for the rest I don’t care for them, they’re a little out there for me. But I do think any of the names you have picked out will go well with your boy selection

Such a great list you have! So nice to see something other than [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] and [name_f]Mia[/name_f] and all that jazz.
I mean it’s hard to choose my favorite because I like almost all of them so my top three are:

[name_f]Posy[/name_f]- I saw someone comment it’s too cutesy and I don’t think it is at all. I think of a meadow full of wildflowers.
[name_f]Sylvie[/name_f]- Like a breath of fresh air. It’s weird because I really dislike [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f] but with the ending in the -vee sound it just makes it updated. It totally gives me a woodland fairy vibe
[name_f]Alba[/name_f]- This name is one of my favorite because my kids will be both Scottish and Latin@ so it covers both bases there. Yes, I do think [name_f]Jessica[/name_f] [name_f]Alba[/name_f], but I also think of Spain and a beautiful girl with olive skin and green eyes

I love [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f], [name_f]Delilah[/name_f], [name_f]Isadora[/name_f] and [name_f]Zelda[/name_f]! [name_f]Saskia[/name_f] is a very interesting name and [name_f]Suki[/name_f] is the cutest nickname.
With [name_m]Otis[/name_m] and [name_m]Rufus[/name_m], I adore [name_f]Posy[/name_f], [name_f]Zelda[/name_f] and [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f].
