Girls names shortlist! Help with decisions and middle names?

Okay, new list! So far, it looks like:
[name]Clemence[/name] (pronunciation issues?)

Middle names I’ve been considering include [name]Dulcie[/name], [name]Greta[/name], [name]Ivy[/name], [name]Plum[/name], [name]Victoria[/name], [name]Wren[/name], [name]Briar[/name]… Thoughts?

Great list!

[name]Violet[/name] – pretty, I am seeing a lot of it lately, however
[name]Hazel[/name] – classic and sweet
[name]Merle[/name] – I see this one coming back, and it is growing on me! Strong and classic.
[name]Enid[/name] – I like this name, it is fun to say.
[name]Meg[/name] – I have a friend who named her daughter [name]Meg[/name] (not short for [name]Megan[/name]), and she is a doll! I love the name
[name]Megan[/name], too.
[name]Rose[/name] – very pretty, but for some reason I have always found [name]Rose[/name] to be boring.
[name]Clemence[/name] (pronunciation issues?) – like it. Also like [name]Clementine[/name].
[name]Moira[/name] – I like this one, too.

I really like all your MNs – I am having a tough time coming up with good combos, though. They would make great first name candidates, too!

[name]Violet[/name]: I think it’s lovely, but its current trendiness sort of bothers me…

[name]Violet[/name] [name]Victoria[/name]
[name]Violet[/name] [name]Annabel[/name]
[name]Violet[/name] [name]Octavia[/name]
[name]Violet[/name] [name]Amelie[/name]
[name]Violet[/name] [name]Francesca[/name]
[name]Violet[/name] [name]Eloise[/name]

[name]Hazel[/name]: I really like [name]Hazel[/name]!

[name]Hazel[/name] [name]Victoria[/name]
[name]Hazel[/name] [name]Sophia[/name]
[name]Hazel[/name] [name]Josephine[/name]
[name]Hazel[/name] [name]Beatrice[/name]
[name]Hazel[/name] [name]Amaryllis[/name]
[name]Hazel[/name] [name]Caroline[/name]

[name]Merle[/name]: I don’t like this at all-- it sounds masculine and there’s something, I don’t know… slimy about it. [name]How[/name] about [name]Pearl[/name]?

[name]Enid[/name]: Still too frumpy for me personally.

[name]Enid[/name] [name]Victoria[/name]
[name]Enid[/name] [name]Plum[/name]
[name]Enid[/name] [name]Wren[/name]
[name]Enid[/name] [name]Sophia[/name]
[name]Enid[/name] [name]Ophelia[/name]

[name]Meg[/name]: [name]Way[/name] too much of a nickname, but [name]Margaret[/name] nn [name]Meg[/name] is a adorable.

[name]Rose[/name]: I love [name]Rose[/name]! This is my favorite on your list.

[name]Rose[/name] [name]Victoria[/name]
[name]Rose[/name] [name]Caroline[/name]
[name]Rose[/name] [name]Emilia[/name]
[name]Rose[/name] [name]Guinevere[/name]
[name]Rose[/name] [name]Bryony[/name]
[name]Rose[/name] [name]Elodie[/name]
[name]Rose[/name] [name]Genevieve[/name]

[name]Clemence[/name]: I love [name]Clemence[/name], but pronunciation would definitely be a problem (I’m assuming you’re going for ‘cleh-MAHNS’.)

[name]Clemence[/name] [name]Ivy[/name]
[name]Clemence[/name] [name]Victoria[/name]
[name]Clemence[/name] [name]Isabel[/name]
[name]Clemence[/name] [name]Bernadette[/name]
[name]Clemence[/name] [name]Helena[/name]

[name]Moira[/name]: Not a favorite of mine… I prefer [name]Mara[/name] or [name]Maura[/name]. Something about the ‘oi’ sound.

My favorites are [name]Rose[/name], [name]Clemence[/name], and [name]Violet[/name].

[name]Violet[/name], [name]Hazel[/name], [name]Rose[/name] and [name]Clemence[/name] are all absolutely wonderful, in my opinion. I also like [name]Enid[/name], but slightly less. [name]Violet[/name] does seem to be growing in popularity, but if that doesn’t bother you then it is still a lovely choice. I think most people would pronounce [name]Clemence[/name] correctly in the English way, as KLEM-ens, but you might have more issues if you wanted the French [name]KLAY[/name]-monns (I only mention the French because the name seems to be more popular there).

The only one of your first names I would personally definitely relegate to second place would be [name]Meg[/name], just because it seem so short, but of course that’s only my personal taste.

I also adore all of your middle names, with the exception of [name]Dulcie[/name] (apologies) and [name]Briar[/name] (which has been growing on me, though - it’s my personal dislike of that BR sound).

My favourite combinations, which I think sound lovely, would have to be :
[name]Hazel[/name] [name]Greta[/name]
[name]Violet[/name] [name]Enid[/name]
[name]Rose[/name] [name]Victoria[/name]
[name]Clemence[/name] [name]Ivy[/name].

I hate that I haven’t included [name]Plum[/name] or [name]Wren[/name], but I didn’t want to double up on nature names in a combination!

I just have to add some love for [name]Moira[/name]. I love this name (and always think of [name]Wendy[/name] from [name]Peter[/name] [name]Pan[/name] “[name]Wendy[/name] [name]Moira[/name] [name]Angela[/name] Darling”) [name]Moira[/name] [name]Plum[/name] or [name]Moira[/name] [name]Ivy[/name] are wonderful. That said, I also love [name]Hazel[/name] [name]Wren[/name]!

Good [name]Luck[/name]!

[name]Violet[/name] - I love this name however, it is becoming increasingly popular. I don’t know if popularity is an issue with you or not but if it is, I probably wouldn’t use this name.
[name]Hazel[/name] - Some people think this name is just a part of the trendy crowd but it was actually very popular in the late 1890s and early 1900s. I think is very cute and while it may not be ideal for middle aged people, it makes a fabulous old lady name. I love it!
[name]Merle[/name] - Not really my taste. I think of it as an old person name, which is not necessarily a bad thing but I just don’t really like it. [name]Merle[/name] is actually more popular for males as opposed to females; it hasn’t been in the Top 1000 for females since 1956. I don’t think I’d use this name.
[name]Enid[/name] - Again, not really my taste. I haven’t met an [name]Enid[/name] in my entire life, so I’m not surprised that it’s not really popular; it hasn’t been in the Top 1000 since 1954. If this is your taste, I say go for it. But I don’t really like it, personally.
[name]Meg[/name] - I like [name]Meg[/name] a lot but I prefer it as a nickname for [name]Megan[/name] or [name]Margaret[/name]. I think it’s too short on it’s own and kind of follows the trend of naming children the nickname instead of the actual name.
[name]Rose[/name] - Very sweet but I can’t stand it. I don’t know what it is about the name but I hate [name]Rose[/name] and I always have. Definitely not my pick off this list. I think it’s consistently popular as well; I’ve never seen it lower than 360ish on the Top 1000 chart.
[name]Clemence[/name] - I would pronounce this name as I see it, which I don’t think is correct. I do think that people may have a little difficulty pronouncing this name. A lot of people are familiar with [name]Clementine[/name] and [name]Clement[/name] and I would be surprised if this name wasn’t a part of that name family.
[name]Moira[/name] - I love this name, spelled this way as well as [name]Mara[/name] and [name]Maura[/name]. It’s a great, sturdy Irish name! I knew a girl whose name was [name]Moira[/name] and she went by [name]Molly[/name]. I always thought that was lovely.

My favorites would probably be [name]Violet[/name], [name]Hazel[/name], and [name]Moira[/name].
For middle names, I like [name]Ivy[/name], [name]Plum[/name], and [name]Victoria[/name].
Good luck!

I like the name ‘[name]Hazel[/name]’ best out of your first names, & ‘[name]Greta[/name]’ out of your mn’s

I like:
[name]Hazel[/name] [name]Dulcie[/name], [name]Hazel[/name] [name]Greta[/name]; [name]Hazel[/name] [name]May[/name], [name]Hazel[/name] [name]Ruth[/name], [name]Hazel[/name] [name]Anice[/name], [name]Hazel[/name] [name]Claire[/name]
[name]Merle[/name] [name]Ivy[/name], [name]Merle[/name] [name]Briar[/name]; [name]Merle[/name] [name]Antonie[/name], [name]Merle[/name] [name]Violet[/name]
[name]Enid[/name] [name]Wren[/name], [name]Enid[/name] [name]Ivy[/name]; [name]Enid[/name] [name]Eloise[/name]
[name]Rose[/name] [name]Victoria[/name]; [name]Rose[/name] [name]Meredith[/name]
[name]Moira[/name] [name]Plum[/name], [name]Moira[/name] [name]Wren[/name]; [name]Moira[/name] [name]Alice[/name]

[name]Violet[/name] - love it
[name]Hazel[/name] - old name but coming back in style
[name]Merle[/name] - Ok but when I say it I get depressed. It has a sad sound to me.
[name]Enid[/name] - I like this Welsh name
[name]Meg[/name] - [name]Just[/name] a nickname in my opinion. I much prefer [name]Margaret[/name], [name]Marguerite[/name], [name]Margot[/name] or even [name]Maisie[/name]
[name]Rose[/name] - OK but lacks some zip
[name]Clemence[/name] (pronunciation issues?) - Rare and romantic. But if you prefer the French pronunciation (klay-monse) like I do, expect pronunciation issues to arise. This shouldn’t keep you from choosing it if you love it.
[name]Moira[/name] - I like this Irish name but much prefer [name]Maeve[/name]. Some people may find it difficult to pronounce.

Now to your middle names: I’m finding it difficult to make combinations with your first and middle choices as most of your middle names sound better as the first name. For example, [name]Ivy[/name] [name]Clemence[/name] flows better than [name]Clemence[/name] [name]Ivy[/name]. Also, you have flower/tree/ plant names in both lists and I don’t think naming a girl with two of these names is advisable. [name]Rose[/name] [name]Plum[/name] or [name]Rose[/name] [name]Briar[/name] are just not usable (too cutesy). [name]Dulcie[/name] doesn’t really work with any of your first names. For these reasons, the only middle names I feel that can be used are [name]Wren[/name] and [name]Victoria[/name]. I do like [name]Violet[/name] [name]Wren[/name] or [name]Hazel[/name] [name]Wren[/name] as well as [name]Enid[/name] [name]Victoria[/name].

It would be fantastic to know how many syllables your last name was to figure out middle names for you, but here it goes with knowing! :
[name]Violet[/name] [name]Wren[/name] - [name]Violet[/name] [name]Briar[/name] - [name]Violet[/name] [name]Greta[/name] - [name]Violet[/name] [name]Meg[/name]

[name]Hazel[/name] [name]Victoria[/name] - [name]Hazel[/name] [name]Wren[/name] - [name]Hazel[/name] [name]Meg[/name]

[name]Merle[/name] [name]Plum[/name] - [name]Merle[/name] [name]Victoria[/name] - [name]Merle[/name] [name]Clemence[/name]

[name]Enid[/name] [name]Plum[/name] - [name]Enid[/name] [name]Victoria[/name] - [name]Enid[/name] [name]Hazel[/name]

[name]Meg[/name] [name]Plum[/name] -[name]Meg[/name] [name]Victoria[/name] - [name]Meg[/name] [name]Violet[/name]

[name]Rose[/name] [name]Victoria[/name] - [name]Rose[/name] [name]Greta[/name] - [name]Rose[/name] [name]Clemence[/name]

[name]Clemence[/name] [name]Plum[/name] - [name]Clemence[/name] [name]Victoria[/name] - [name]Clemence[/name] [name]Meg[/name]

[name]Moira[/name] [name]Plum[/name] - [name]Moira[/name] [name]Ivy[/name] - [name]Moira[/name] [name]Hazel[/name]

included some of your first name choices as middles in cases where they go really well. Bolded are faves.
hope this helps!
