I posted awhile back about my love for the now-crushed name of [name]Isabella[/name]. The list that I liked after that was:
[name]Nora[/name] (husband thinks it’s not enough of a proper name “I’d name her [name]Eleanor[/name]” per him)
[name]Avery[/name] (husband decided he liked, then I met 2 little girls in a month and also got told by the lab tech it’s super popular now)
[name]Vivienne[/name] (husband doesn’t like “the double v” sound and said it sounds too old)
We now have 10 weeks before this little one is due to arrive.
He likes [name]Emiliana[/name] but our last name is a British “trade name” like [name]Miller[/name], Skinner, etc. [name]Just[/name] sounds like too much when put together to me.
I like [name]Eleanor[/name] nn [name]Nora[/name] or [name]Adelaide[/name] nn [name]Ada[/name].
What about [name]Anastasia[/name], [name]Genevieve[/name] (love the nn [name]Evie[/name]), [name]Susannah[/name], or [name]Camilla[/name] ([name]Milly[/name] or [name]Cammie[/name]).
[name]Eleanore[/name] with nickame [name]Nora[/name] is lovley. I also love [name]Nora[/name] on it’s own! [name]Annalise[/name] and [name]Adelaide[/name] are lovley.
I know it’s getting really popular (but so are some of your other picks) but I think [name]Penelope[/name] would work well with your last name and it offers: [name]Penny[/name], [name]Nell[/name], [name]Poppy[/name], [name]Elle[/name] as possible nicknames.
Maybe [name]Isabella[/name] can be your middle name now. I think [name]Scarlett[/name] [name]Isabella[/name] is very pretty. I also think [name]Scarlett[/name] [name]Vivienne[/name] is stunning, even if it does have a strong Gone With The Wind feel.
I do love [name]Eleanor[/name] with the [name]Nora[/name] nickname also. It may be the best compromise if it comes to that. I had to compromise on my boy name so it does happen, just make sure if you [name]DO[/name] have to compromise that you still are 100% happy with that compromise. We see on these forums that people do regret a “compromise name”.
I also like [name]Eleanor[/name] with the nickname [name]Nora[/name]. Some other possibilities might be: [name]Adeline[/name], [name]Sylvia[/name], [name]Rosamund[/name] or [name]Rosalind[/name], [name]Emmeline[/name], [name]Violetta[/name] or [name]Coralie[/name]. You have some pretty choices!
I like [name]Adelaide[/name] the most. [name]Anneliese[/name] and [name]Evangeline[/name] are great too! [name]Do[/name] you like [name]Arabella[/name], [name]Liselotte[/name], [name]Angelina[/name] or [name]Annabel[/name] ?
I’m liking [name]Arabella[/name] and [name]Annabelle[/name]! And Gigigibbons, we had talked about [name]Penelope[/name] (he’s a fan) but I’m loving your suggestions of [name]Scarlett[/name] [name]Isabella[/name] and [name]Scarlett[/name] [name]Vivienne[/name]… Maybe we can compromise I had also recently presented [name]Emmeline[/name] to him (which I love), but for some reason he’s not a fan.
The other option (and feel free to chime in if you’ve done this) is that I name her, and my husband names the 2nd child. I don’t know how I feel about this, as:
A. I want him to love our daughter’s name too and
B. I’m afraid of what he’ll choose for #2, lol
I love your whole list, especially [name]Anika[/name]! What about just [name]Emilia[/name] rather than [name]Emiliana[/name]?
What about …
[name]Aveline[/name]
[name]Annora[/name] / [name]Honora[/name] “[name]Nora[/name]” (I love [name]Eleanor[/name], but if you don’t like it perhaps one of these might be a better option to get [name]Nora[/name] if your husband only likes it as a nickname. [name]Annora[/name] in particular is a bit similar to [name]Anika[/name].)
[name]Ada[/name]
[name]Esme[/name]
[name]Delia[/name]
[name]Althea[/name] / [name]Alethea[/name]
Thanks! [name]Annalise[/name] is up there, although my sister’s live-in boyfriend has a niece named “[name]Annalie[/name]” so in the future it could get a bit confusing… But we don’t see them enough for me to not consider the name!
I love [name]Nora[/name] on its own (one of my favourites) - and I really like [name]Eleanor[/name] with the option of [name]Nora[/name] or [name]Nell[/name]. [name]Avery[/name] is a boys name to me, and although everyone loves [name]Vivienne[/name] - i’ve never really been a fan.
[name]Adelaide[/name] is my sisters middle name and i’ve always liked it.
