I am expecting my first child in [name]September[/name] and my DH and I are thinking about names non-stop! We don’t know what we’re having (hoping to find out soon) and while we already have a boy name we are really all over the place for girls. For now we like [name]Sadie[/name] (although a friend of DH just named their daughter [name]Sadie[/name]), [name]Blake[/name], [name]Skye[/name] and [name]Jordan[/name]. Thoughts? Suggestions? Thanks so much!!
Firstly, Congratulations!
Secondly, [name]Sadie[/name] is adorable, even though I’d prefer [name]Sarah[/name]/[name]Sara[/name] nn [name]Sadie[/name].
[name]Blake[/name] just screams boy to me, I wouldn’t use it on a girl, myself. Not a very attractive sound.
[name]Skye[/name] is probably my favorite of your few choices, I like the natural feel of [name]Skye[/name]. Would you consider [name]Sara[/name] [name]Skye[/name]? Nickname [name]Sadie[/name] [name]Skye[/name]? [name]Justa[/name] thought.
I’m not a huge fan of [name]Jordan[/name]. I know one, nearly 40 and she loathes her name like noone I’ve ever seen. So while I think it’s cute and ages well, I’m leery.

[name]Sadie[/name], [name]Blake[/name], [name]Skye[/name], and [name]Jordan[/name]? Okay! You’ve got two-ish styles here, then. [name]Sadie[/name] is the sweet, vintage one, whereas [name]Blake[/name], [name]Skye[/name], and [name]Jordan[/name] make up the unisex set - [name]Skye[/name] might be on the outskirts there. [name]Sadie[/name] is my favorite, style-wise, but it does feel rather sugary and overly-sweet, perhaps a bit young. [name]Jordan[/name], to me, is dated. [name]Blake[/name] is nice, and it might be getting more attention with girls with the rising success of actress [name]Blake[/name] Lively! And, [name]Skye[/name] is a long-time favorite nature name with an easy-breezy feel that is appealing.

Thanks for the feedback and suggestions. We’ve gotten a lot of negative feedback on [name]Jordan[/name] so I think that’s out…I really like the vintagey feel of [name]Sadie[/name] and for some reason I am just drawn to [name]Skye[/name] but somehow I just cant decide. Ugh this getting so stressful!!
Then why not combine them, simply: [name]Sadie[/name] [name]Skye[/name]?
That said, I still really prefer [name]Sadie[/name] as a nickname for [name]Sara[/name]/h. I like to have options, [name]Sadie[/name]'s fine for a musician, poet, maybe even a librarian but [name]Sadie[/name] for President! doesn’t seem very good to me. It’s reminiscent of [name]Jimmy[/name] [name]Carter[/name]. Very young, not responsible feeling, if you get my drift. I’m not saying [name]Sadie[/name] on it’s own is bad, I’m just saying, maybe [name]Sara[/name]/h on the BC and [name]Sadie[/name] for everyday? I think [name]Sara[/name]/h [name]Skye[/name] is very, very pretty!
[name]Love[/name] [name]Sadie[/name] (very sweet sounding and love vintage). A note about unisex names. As a [name]Jordan[/name] myself I would have loved to have -a simple a added to my name. Getting put on the boys side of summer camp at age 10 made that extremely clear to me (it was quickly clarified). [name]Jordana[/name] is even less heard and makes it clear on paper that you are a girl. This is just easier on the child. I love my name but I still would have chosen the feminine variation.
Thanks so much for the honesty and sharing your experience as a [name]Jordan[/name]. Definitely helps us!
