[name_m]Hi[/name_m], i have 3 girls
[name_u]Blythe[/name_u] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]
[name_f]Imogen[/name_f] [name_u]James[/name_u]
[name_f]Josephine[/name_f] [name_f]Christina[/name_f]
Expecting our fourth and I’d love your opinions based on the names we’ve already used? Looking for first and middle names that run nicely together. Nothing too “trendy”
From your list, they do seem a little more ‘fashionable’ then your other daughters more classic names but I think they could still work really well! Other names you may like:
Of your list, I think these work well: [name_f]Kate[/name_f], [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f], [name_f]Maeve[/name_f], [name_f]Faye[/name_f], [name_f]Eve[/name_f], [name_f]Isobel[/name_f], [name_f]Valerie[/name_f], [name_u]Laurel[/name_u] and [name_f]Clara[/name_f]!
You have chosen such beautiful names - each of the first three have her names I’ve loved, with [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] remaining my fave girls’ name.
I love [name_f]Marsali[/name_f] but it will mean [name_f]Immy[/name_f], [name_u]Josie[/name_u] & Marsie being quite similar and [name_u]Blythe[/name_u] in her own (though as the eldest I’m sure she’ll be fine!) and [name_u]Blythe[/name_u] and [name_f]Marsali[/name_f] go stylistically do well!
That would be my pick or else [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] (nn Ceci) or [name_f]Valerie[/name_f] (nn Vali/Valley). Then [name_f]Maeve[/name_f].
I like [name_f]Diana[/name_f] but I don’t like the nicknames for it. [name_u]Laurel[/name_u] goes so well with the others, I just don’t think it sounds nice in the Australian accent. [name_f]Clara[/name_f] works too, I just think it’s been overused, again might not apply.
Other suggestions:
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f]
[name_f]Tessa[/name_f] nn [name_f]Tess[/name_f]
[name_f]Daphne[/name_f]
[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f]
[name_f]Verity[/name_f]
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]
[name_f]Tallulah[/name_f]
[name_f]Phryne[/name_f] (but for the meaning!)
[name_f]Martha[/name_f]
I think you should give them their own starting letter if you can! Prob wouldn’t do a third N sound ending.
Thank you! I feel like you’ve totally got our style.
[name_f]Marsaili[/name_f] and [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] (minus the meaning) are my top picks, and I love your suggestions.
[name_f]Do[/name_f] you have any gut feelings for middle names? I was thinking something short and sweet e.g. [name_f]Marsaili[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] or [name_f]Cecelia[/name_f] [name_u]Wren[/name_u]. We’ve used all the family names with sibs so it’s a bit odd to have so many options!
Ooh I love [name_f]Zadie[/name_f] and [name_f]Cora[/name_f], they’re quite common where we are which is the only thing that makes me hesitant. Thank you!
[name_u]Blythe[/name_u], [name_f]Imogen[/name_f], and [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] are all cheerful, [name_f]British[/name_f], vintage yet popular again names that are so sweet and classic, but with spunk. [name_u]Will[/name_u] do some grouping together of your names.
Names off your list that fit your vibe: [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] [name_f]Vanessa[/name_f] [name_f]Zinnia[/name_f] [name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] [name_f]Isolde[/name_f] [name_f]Faye[/name_f]
These names are familiar but not popular, and have such a sunny, springy sound.
They sound a bit heavy and dusty for your light girls-still beautiful though!
Sleek Classics [name_f]Kate[/name_f] [name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Annalise[/name_f] [name_f]Isobel[/name_f]
Slightly more popular, and a bit too traditional and short for your girls
International [name_f]Marsaili[/name_f] [name_f]Eira[/name_f] [name_f]Vaila[/name_f] [name_f]Saoirse[/name_f]
Your girls feel very [name_f]British[/name_f], and while these names are lovely, they fit a different cultural aesthetic for me
Outliers: [name_u]Laurie[/name_u]-Very cute, but feels a bit more 80s and a bit more dated then your girls. Also too nicknamey, and I would take this off you list as you can use it as a nn for [name_u]Laurel[/name_u]. [name_f]Xanthe[/name_f]-Your girls are classic, and [name_f]Xanthe[/name_f] feels fantastical and sci-fi [name_u]Laurel[/name_u]- A nice name, just doesn’t wow me. I like you other options better.
I love Marsali Kate, and I would then use Cecilia Faye (Faye is a fave name)!
Otherwise (and this all depends on flow to last name):
Marsali Eve
Marsali Laurel
Cecilia Maeve
Cecilia Xanthe
It seems to be popular on here, but I am hot & cold on the name, Wren - and I’m not sure about using a word/noun-name after three name-name middles. I would personally keep them all as “timeless” names. If going single syllables - which is a nice nod to Blythe & James, I personally would use Kate or Faye.
One thing I’ve noticed is that your middles have something to do with and somewhat echo the first name - like Blythe Elyse (I know it’s Elizabeth but just to show the point), Im James & -ine -ina, so you could try this again, eg:
Marsali Maeve
Marsali Minerva
Marsali Cecilia
Marsali Mary
Marsali Charlotte
Marceli Beulah / Beaulah
Cecilia Millie
Cecilia Rosalie
Cecilia Diana
Cecilia Charlotte
Cecilia Dylan (unisex to tie in with James)
Cecilia Valerie
Cecilia Rose (get Rose is a noun but not as obviously so /trendy as Wren and has the R sound of Wren)
Cecilia Rosamund
Cecilia Tabitha
Cecilia Ronan (see above re unisex)
Cecilia Bronte (Bron-tee pronunciation)
Cecilia Daphne
Hope this (also) helps!
Edit - just realised I read it as Marsali - I would probably simplify to Marsali unless you’re in Scotland or somewhere they’ll be fairly familiar with the name - I usually go for original spelling, but I think it’ll trip up people in this context? You might get Mar-Say-lee, instead of “suh”.
