Giselle vs Gwendolyn vs Marigold

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] all!

Working on baby girls name for what seems like forever. Big brothers are [name_u]William[/name_u] and [name_m]Samuel[/name_m], big sister in heaven is [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] [name_f]Fiadh[/name_f]

[name_f]Giselle[/name_f] [name_f]Faith[/name_f]
-Elsie, [name_f]Elle[/name_f], [name_f]Gigi[/name_f], [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] [name_f]Faith[/name_f], [name_f]Gigi[/name_f] [name_f]Bee[/name_f], [name_f]Gigi[/name_f] [name_f]Faith[/name_f], [name_f]Giselle[/name_f] [name_f]Belle[/name_f] (nn)

[name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f] [name_f]Faith[/name_f] or [name_f]Gwyneth[/name_f] [name_f]Belle[/name_f]
-Gwen, [name_f]Winnie[/name_f], [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] [name_f]Bee[/name_f], [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] [name_f]Faith[/name_f]

[name_f]Marigold[/name_f] [name_f]Faith[/name_f]
-Maggie, [name_f]Goldie[/name_f], [name_u]Mar[/name_u]

[name_f]Giselle[/name_f] nickname [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] is our top runner, I hope I’m brave enough to use it! I’ve had negative reactions from a couple family members because of football :expressionless:

Briefly also considered [name_f]Marsali[/name_f] but it just doesn’t feel like her name. There was also a time I loved Ismary nn [name_f]Immy[/name_f], but it also doesn’t feel like her.

I really like formal beautiful names with playful nicknames

[name_f]My[/name_f] 5 year old is insisting her name is [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] and strongly dislikes [name_f]Maggie[/name_f]. Which I know may be silly but I do care about his thoughts. He has said for months her name is “ElsieElsie”

I love [name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f] faith or marigold faith💜

[name_f]Giselle[/name_f]!

[name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] and [name_f]Giselle[/name_f] are a bit too rhymey for me, but I think [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] [name_f]Faith[/name_f] is gorgeous! I love [name_f]Goldie[/name_f] as a nn too.

Congratulations on your new addition :tada:

Personally [name_f]My[/name_f] favourite is [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] I’m just a sucker for flower names, I love how happy she sounds and the yellow colour connotations. Also [name_f]Goldie[/name_f] makes my heart sing such an adorable nickname.

However for you my favourite is [name_f]Giselle[/name_f] you clearly love her and even though she doesn’t make my heart sing she makes yours! She feels romantic, graceful, I like that your son approves of the nicknames and I really like how she shares a similar ending to [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f]. [name_f]Giselle[/name_f] is your name go for it

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps

Oh I love [name_f]Marigold[/name_f]- she has that classic beginning in the [name_f]Mari[/name_f] sound that matches her brothers more classic names and the whimsical/floral ending in [name_m]Gold[/name_m] and the nickname [name_f]Goldie[/name_f] is just so sweet!!

[name_f]Giselle[/name_f] just seems so different stylistically compared to [name_u]William[/name_u] and [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] but I do love [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] and [name_f]Elle[/name_f]. If you love it, you should go for it though.

Congrats & good luck

[name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f] is appealing to me because I love [name_u]Will[/name_u], [name_u]Sam[/name_u] and [name_f]Gwen[/name_f] together

I find it appealing because [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] is my favorite name of all time :yellow_heart::angel:

I absolutely love [name_f]Giselle[/name_f], and it seems like that’s your favorite too so you should go for it! I don’t think you should let the negative reactions ruin the name for you.

Thank you!

[name_f]Marigold[/name_f] has been on my list forever, and would definitely stay there if we have another girl. I love a/m/i/g/s/l letters in names. I’ve noticed this pattern with myself. [name_u]William[/name_u] and [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] have always gone so well together having a/m/l in both of their names. I really like it with both [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] and [name_f]Goldie[/name_f] and yellow is my favorite color. Marigolds also guide the souls back to earth which I love the meaning of. Our sign from [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] are deer (Fiadh meaning both wild & deer) so the only negative to marigold is they “repel deer”

[name_f]Giselle[/name_f] I adore the name, definitely because of its similarities to [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f]. I actually loved both of them as a teen but [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] had won out over the years. It’s important to me to incorporate her sister into her name. I like that they both have pledge in the meaning. I like the ending and I love [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] as a nn too. [name_f]Isla[/name_f] had been on my list but a cousin used it. So I found [name_f]Elsie[/name_f], our last name is a 3 syllable [name_u]Irish[/name_u] name. [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] goes really well with.

[name_f]Faith[/name_f] is the strongest middle to me because it starts and ends with the same letters as [name_f]Fiadh[/name_f].

I had Isabelle’s name picked for over 15 years and then I found her middle name 3 years ago. We lost her last summer and got pregnant shortly after. Coming up with another girl name in 10 months by comparison of years has been hard.

[name_f]Giselle[/name_f] [name_f]Faith[/name_f] nn [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] sounds like the one if you can move past the family reactions. The connection to [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f], your 5-year-old’s love of [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] – it all points to a perfect name! I think the football associations will fade with time, especially considering [name_u]Brady[/name_u] has retired. [name_f]My[/name_f] main association is Enchanted.

Thank you! I ordered a sign from Etsy to try it out with her things :sunflower: it was inexpensive and I think I need to test it out

[name_f]Elsie[/name_f] is super well received so even if they dislike her full name at least they like her nn

[name_f]Giselle[/name_f] is in my top 10 favourite names atm (it keeps changing) and I would totally use it if it sounded well in both languages I speak. I also love its connection to [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f], the middle name [name_f]Faith[/name_f] - and its meaning, and the nickname of [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] especially with big brothers love of it (so cute btw :star: )

[name_f]Giselle[/name_f]! It has great meaning to you and it’s a nod to her sister and [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] is a very nn for it.

I didn’t know Marigolds repel deer as a lover of deer this connotation isn’t the best for me either this only can emphasised by your connection to deer’s and your wonderful daughter [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f].

I think [name_f]Giselle[/name_f] is perfect for you!!

Thank you everyone, I ordered this name tag on Etsy to put with her things. I can’t stop staring at it. It’s definitely helping my process. I also put it next to her sisters name :sunflower:
