The daughter of a renowned director and his costume designer partner - who’s nonbinary, being called ‘Parra’ by [name_f]Nina[/name_f] - she’s grown up within a publicallly recognised circle, and it’s no surprise that the nursery she and [name_u]Darby[/name_u] attend is focused on the children of high profile individuals, actors/actresses, musicians and all other manner of celebrities or wealthy individuals. Currently, Nina’s anticipating becoming a big sister - something she’s very excited about, frequently telling [name_u]Darby[/name_u] she’s got some name suggestions of her own [including Starshine, [name_u]Neptune[/name_u] and [name_f]Rainbow[/name_f] - her parents want to find a way of honouring these without going for something that doesn’t fit with her own name] - and this is only rivalled by how she’s set upon building a bird box with their teacher, being absolutely determined to protect woodland critters. [name_f]Sherah[/name_f] ‘ [name_u]Shea[/name_u] ‘ [name_f]Mary[/name_f] Greenburg (29) is Haddie’s elder sister whose been there given the monetary problems of [name_f]Haddie[/name_f] and her husband. She sees [name_f]Haddie[/name_f] working a lot while she still can with her pregnancy until it’s time for her maternity leave. [name_u]Shea[/name_u] is glad [name_f]Haddie[/name_f] is a strong woman with taking advantage of everything but she’s equally worried that when the baby comes, they won’t have the preparations they used to have.
[name_u]Shea[/name_u] herself is an employee at the nursery the tots attend so she knows Haddie’s baby will at least have some time to play and be nurtured while the couple tries their best at maintaining the family financially. Haddie’s husband wants a new job fast and is considering a job working for an insurance company but [name_u]Shea[/name_u] has overheard some people at the nursery saying this insurance company should be avoided because it’s a scam…
[name_m]Angus[/name_m] [name_u]William[/name_u] Greencope (6) is [name_u]Shea[/name_u] and her husbands’ son - still their only child as of now, as they want to keep themselves as financially secure as possible, although having a larger family is definitely on the cards for them. With [name_f]Haddie[/name_f] and her husband preparing to welcome their baby, [name_m]Angus[/name_m] has been spending a lot of time with them, partly to give further experience when they become parents, but also as he’s terribly excited to become a big cousin.
His mom’s job means [name_m]Angus[/name_m] isn’t easily jealous where the upcoming arrival’s concerned, and he’s known as being a very easygoing kid at the school he attends. The only thing [name_m]Angus[/name_m] struggles sharing is the attention of the family cat: [name_u]Ramsey[/name_u] the moggy, who was acquired entirely by accident. [name_m]Angus[/name_m] and his dad found [name_u]Ramsey[/name_u] one day, when going for a walk together, and the little boy begged for them to take him home, what would become Ramsey’s permanent home.
Happiest in nature, [name_m]Angus[/name_m] wants to become a farmer when he grows up - a dream his parents find ridiculously charming. He can’t bare the idea of killing livestock, however ethical farming’s something he wants to pursue, and he talks about this a lot with his friends. One of them has pet chickens, the coolest thing in the world where [name_m]Angus[/name_m] is concerned, so of course he’s been dropping ‘subtle’ hints to his parents about getting some of their own.
[name_m]Chion[/name_m] knows his sister-in-law [name_f]Haddie[/name_f] is pregnant and about the awfully-timed layoff of Haddie’s boyfriend. Still, he doesn’t understand how Haddie’s boyfriend is perceived as the “breadwinner” of the family when [name_f]Haddie[/name_f] has an amazing job as a cinematographer at a well-known company. He’s worried this company may be too corporate and not pay their employees enough. He senses Haddie’s show idea about lower-level cinema careers may be an indirect sign that she and her father aren’t getting enough credit for what they do at the big company. [name_m]Chion[/name_m] doesn’t want to pry into it just yet but he’s suspicious about this and hopes Haddie’s maternity leave is sufficient time, especially since he worries the maternity leave is little or no paid time off. A lot of this comes from some of his own family, who have been successful in college but worked low-paying jobs.
Still, he can’t wait to meet his new niece or nephew! When he and [name_u]Shea[/name_u] had their son [name_m]Angus[/name_m], they also kept the gender a surprise and they always enjoyed their patience with keeping it a surprise, especially since the 9 months of pregnancy had its ups and downs for [name_u]Shea[/name_u] when she was adjusting to putting her body through its first pregnancy. [name_m]Chion[/name_m] is always motivated by his wife’s nursery job and feels this inspired the two to become parents of their own. In his spare time, [name_m]Chion[/name_m] really enjoys playing beach activities; like volleyball, kite-flying, and Frisbee.
[name_f]Echo[/name_f] [name_f]Celeste[/name_f] [name_m]Copeland[/name_m] (25) is Chion’s little sister. She loves seeing what [name_f]Haddie[/name_f] does and is enamored by her entertainment. She currently works as a psychic. Though she’s not sure why she isn’t getting pregnant herself. Her dad is someone she looks up to and feels [name_f]Haddie[/name_f] agrees with this on her own dad. She used to be an indoor person but is now an outdoor person.
[name_m]Caius[/name_m] " [name_m]Cato[/name_m] " [name_m]Deveraux[/name_m] [name_m]Taran[/name_m] McBride (1) is a likely influence in why Echo’s experiencing baby fever at the moment. Well part of it at least. She recently met his parra [non-binary parent] at a networking event of sorts, organised for people in more fringe professions to mingle with those established in media, and a lot of talk of children happened.
With one of his middle names - [name_m]Deveraux[/name_m] - chosen to honour the suggestions of his big sister, [name_f]Nina[/name_f], Cato’s only really spoken about in name by his parents. They’ve upheld privacy for both of their children, currently having no plans on conceiving for a third time thanks to how much kicked off when the pregnancy with [name_m]Cato[/name_m] became visible.
In spite of his parents being successful people, they’re both from very ordinary backgrounds, and this is a major factor in why they don’t like excessive attention, especially anything placed on their children. [name_m]Cato[/name_m] remains unaware of this thankfully, being able to enjoy things around him without becoming a headliner solely for who he’s the son of.

[name_f]Ellen[/name_f] " [name_f]Elle[/name_f] " [name_f]Joanna[/name_f] McBride, nee Bridon (31) is [name_m]Cato[/name_m] and Ninas’ parra, who absolutely loves being a parent, even if they can seem a bit of an aloof workaholic type on the surface. While they didn’t say this at the networking event, [name_f]Elle[/name_f] is a bit skeptical about Echo’s job, just because of how they’re no stranger to cases of people using so called psychic abilities to get money from vulnerable people.
By no means do they think [name_f]Echo[/name_f] is that sort of person, but they also worry she could be taken advantage of, as her manager is pushing for her to get a TV series, and definitely will be bigging up her ideas of psychic abilities to get ahead in the field.
Primarily working in medieval, fantasy and indie films, Elle’s always had a love of fashion, seeing it as the first way they could express themselves. [name_m]Even[/name_m] before they had the term nonbinary to explain their sense of self, clothes, makeup and how they styled their hair made that clarity a lot easier to access.
Coming from a very quiet family who don’t have anything of interest - at least in celeb gossip terms - is something Elle’s very happy about, as it’s helped protect their parents and brother since they met their partner. Their brother is now more interested in media himself, likely presenting work, and [name_f]Elle[/name_f] hopes he isn’t fed the lie that being reckless or shocking for the sake of it helps you get ahead. It does but for all the wrong reasons.
[name_m]Joshua[/name_m] " [name_m]Josh[/name_m] " [name_m]Alfred[/name_m] (McMahon) McBride (31, he/him) is Elle’s partner and dad to [name_m]Cato[/name_m] and [name_f]Nina[/name_f], as well as a fellow member of the entertainment industry. His name’s more recognised on surface value than Elle’s, but popularity isn’t what matters to [name_m]Josh[/name_m], instead it’s about being able to tell stories he finds meaningful - whatever way they resonate to him and/or others he cares about.
Starting as a director using an old camcorder that belonged to his cousin initially, [name_m]Josh[/name_m] is very stubborn in his own way. He mostly makes horror, fantasy/supernatural and experimental films, usually blending these genres, even though people around him insist focusing on drama or thrillers would get him mainstream success. That’s not what [name_m]Josh[/name_m] wants though. He grew up loving old B-movies with his family and absolutely obsessed over scary stories, always wanting to borrow his big brother’s Goosebumps books, so just abandoning this for popularity feels a betrayal on a lot of levels.
Most of all to the people in the horror industry who’ve supported, encouraged and aided him as he’s worked on his craft. By accident, he was mentored by a fellow indie horror director, who made a cult classic in the early 90s only to fade as impatience meant people weren’t willing to wait for her next project. [name_m]Josh[/name_m] knows all art has a chance to be fickle, but he’d rather stay true to himself than end up hating directing because he’s working on projects he doesn’t have any true caring for.
The fact his daughter is animal mad and his son loves playing dress up only furthers Josh’s belief in personal boundaries. Him and [name_f]Elle[/name_f] acquiring their many pets was a bit coincidental too, but his older brother now works at an animal shelter as a vet, and once [name_m]Josh[/name_m] and [name_f]Elle[/name_f] started being told about available animals, they found taking them in appealed most of all.
Aram Shaoruo Greenberg-Chen (2) is the playmate of Cato and Nina who their parents have come to be very fond of, as the little boy’s always a joy to have around. Similar to Cato, Aram loves dressing up, although he’s more fascinated by history and sci-fi, being crazy about *Doctor Who; although his parents aren’t letting him watch anything extreme, and it’s more based in his artwork at the moment. All of his pictures gifted to his dad live in his office, which Aram is very pleased about.
The association of Josh and Elle with Arams’ parents was actually because of film funnily enough. Arams’ mom, Haddie, is a now established screenwriter who was looking to get involved in the industry, and she was scouted by a producer who’s worked with Josh, leading to the pair meeting and bonding over the fact Haddie was pregnant, so he introduced her to Elle.
At the time there was financial stress placed on the Greenberg-Chen household thanks to cuts meaning Arams’ dad lost his job, and through perseverance and compromise [Arams’ dad working night shifts while his mom shopped scripts around], they’ve been able to get back on track, with his mom now seeing her show premiere and his dad back in the tech industry, in a position with much more security than his previous one.

Ruomei “Rumi” Chen (29) is Aram’s paternal aunt. She works as an investigative journalist and loves her job very much. She enjoys covering serious, painful, meaningful topics and thus making the world a better place. Ruomei has covered several major crimes in her city, including the kidnapping of a girl a few years ago. Rumi has a keen sense of justice. She occasionally helps out at an animal shelter and local care home as a volunteer.
She has no children of her own, but she adores her nephew and often looks after him when needed. When Rumi’s brother was laid off, she helped him find a new employer.
Ruomei has a wide social circle, but she can only call a few people her friends. She has always been more devoted to her family, for whom she would do anything. Rumi lives with her boyfriend and her beloved corgi Sam.
