Give me your favorite girl names to feature on my blog!

I love to feature different name tastes. So, I’m getting all of you guys’ favorite girl combos and featuring them on my blog. I’ve already done the boys’ version of this feature tonight, and tomorrow I’m going to do the girls.

Give me your first name and last initial, so that you know who you are when you read the post. You can even give a fake name, I don’t care, this is just so that you know which names are yours. and list your combos, and if you like, you can give the reasons to why you like them. For example, mine would be:

[name_f]Kaitlyn[/name_f] B.:

As of right now:

Florence Emily - Emily seems to add a more modern vibe to Florence, which has always been on my favourites list, since I started seriously making one.

Edna Catherine - I love the meaning; ‘pure delight’.

Martha Lillian - Similar to Florence, Martha has always appeared on my lists (since I started making them properly, at age 15), and I love using a family name like Lillian as a middle for Martha.

Doris Evelina - I love how this roughly translates into ‘wished for gift of the sea’.

Rosina Claire - Rosina is one I’ve recently found myself loving, and Claire’s always appealed to me, when I was little, I used to think about renaming myself Claire.

Charlotte Lucy - I love the elegance and class of Charlotte, and, a few years ago, when I was 15, I met one of my first pen pals from the UK - who’s full name was Charlotte Lucy, and I fell in love with the combination almost instantly.

Minnie Rosetta - I’ve always struggled to find a middle name for Minnie that I like, but I feel like Minnie Rosetta works perfectly, it’s frilly and feminine, yet playful and fun.

Maude Amelia - Amelia seems to add a more playful side to Maude, which I like, I feel as though they balance each other out.
Eva Matilda

  1. [name_f]Jane[/name_f] [name_f]Cosima[/name_f]
—> [name_f]Jane[/name_f] is my favorite name right now and my husband loves it as well, so it will most likely be our first daughter’s name. I love [name_f]Jane[/name_f] for its simplicity and sweet vintage feel but it’s not super popular. It also combines both of our moms names ([name_f]Joanne[/name_f] and [name_f]Lorraine[/name_f]) and I think thats a big reason I love this name. [name_f]Cosima[/name_f] is a name that combines our dads’ names and I love the etheral feel.

  2. [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] [name_f]Constance[/name_f]
—> [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] was my top favorite name before I fell in love with [name_f]Jane[/name_f], and honestly I still flip back and forth between which is my top name. I just love the unique sound and simple femininity of it. I like the options of a more tomboyish nn ([name_m]Fin[/name_m]) or sweet and girly nn ([name_f]Fia[/name_f]). It also honors my gramma whose first name started with F. [name_f]Constance[/name_f] was my husband’s gma’s name (well the name she went by) who recently passed and whom he was very close to.

  3. [name_f]Gwyneth[/name_f] [name_f]Persephone[/name_f]
—> I love the nn [name_f]Gwen[/name_f], but like the completeness of [name_f]Gwyneth[/name_f]. Kind of a more grown up [name_f]Gwen[/name_f], a little more serious. [name_f]Gwyneth[/name_f] also has a lovely meaning! [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] was a name I was shocked my husband likes, right now I just like how it sounds with [name_f]Gwyneth[/name_f].

  4. [name_f]Thea[/name_f] [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f]
—> [name_f]Thea[/name_f] is another short & sweet name that I really like as a sister to [name_f]Jane[/name_f]. I really love the Greek mythology connection of [name_f]Thea[/name_f]. [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] is a pretty name we both love but I feel it is a bit long as a first name.

  5. [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Naomi[/name_f]
—> [name_f]Alice[/name_f] is such a classic, literary name that can be sweet but serious. I find it such a lovely name and can picture it on a chubby little baby, a curly haired little girl playing with her dolls and a teenager as well as an adult. [name_f]Naomi[/name_f] is a name that my husband suggested early in our relationship. I like the it shares an ending sound with both my husband’s name and my name ([name_m]Zachary[/name_m] & [name_f]Carly[/name_f]). [name_f]Naomi[/name_f] has a serious feel but the ending makes it sweet as well.

[name_f]Nora[/name_f] [name_f]Felicity[/name_f]
[name_f]Naomi[/name_f] [name_f]Kathleen[/name_f]

These are names I really loved, but DH has vetoed for various reasons:

[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Katherine[/name_f]
[name_f]Felicity[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]

[name_f]Amy[/name_f] R.

Kimimela [name_f]Serene[/name_f] - has been my top for a very long time, although the middle changes often. It means “butterfly” and has a lot of personal significance.

[name_f]Daenerys[/name_f] [name_f]Jasmine[/name_f] - I love everything about the character of [name_f]Daenerys[/name_f] Targaryen and cannot think of a more awesome inspiration than her for a daughter. I also love that it shortens to [name_f]Dany[/name_f]. I have a soft spot for [name_f]Jasmine[/name_f] but feel it is too common for the first name spot. However, I absolutely adore it as the middle for [name_f]Daenerys[/name_f]. So feminine and soft to balance the harder syllables of the name.

[name_f]Azalea[/name_f] [name_f]Dawn[/name_f] - not sure that the middle will stay as it is, but I think [name_f]Azalea[/name_f] is awesome. Such a fun, spirited alternative to the overused [name_f]Lily[/name_f], and I enjoy the possible nickname [name_f]Lea[/name_f] as well.

[name_f]Primavera[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] - I was a Spanish major in undergrad and spring is my favorite season, so I’m completely hung up on this one. [name_u]Love[/name_u] that it shortens to the sweet and unassuming nickname Prim but looks elegant in its full form on a driver’s license or diploma.

[name_f]Arwen[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] - what can I say, I’m a fantasy nerd and have had this one tucked away in my heart since “Fellowship of the [name_m]Ring[/name_m]” came out when I was fourteen. I don’t know that it would necessarily make the cut anymore as my tastes have changed and evolved, but I know it will always stay in the top five. [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] Swan is yet another favorite heroine of mine, so aside from really liking how they fit together, it’s a neat way to pay homage to two very strong fictional women who were a big part of my adolescence.

[name_f]Selma[/name_f] [name_f]Constance[/name_f]
[name_f]Nyx[/name_f] [name_f]Amandine[/name_f]

Michelangela [name_u]Devin[/name_u] (“Magella,” maybe)
[name_f]Posy[/name_f] [name_f]Anouk[/name_f]
[name_f]Ravenna[/name_f] [name_u]Kyle[/name_u]
Lilica [name_f]Rosette[/name_f]

Rowenna Ailith [name_u]Winter[/name_u]
[name_f]Morgana[/name_f] [name_f]Hermione[/name_f] [name_f]Clio[/name_f]
[name_f]Arabella[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] [name_f]Constance[/name_f]

I’m [name_f]Annie[/name_f] H.

My signature needs a bit of updating and I’ll just go with one middle name because that’s all I’m ever likely to use on an actual child; so here are the top names:

[name_f]Myrna[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f]
[name_f]Lorena[/name_f] [name_f]Salome[/name_f] (pronounced lorraine-ah sal-ohm)
[name_f]Samantha[/name_f] [name_f]Celeste[/name_f]
[name_f]Eira[/name_f] [name_f]Blythe[/name_f] (pronounced ay-ra)

[name_f]Petrea[/name_f] .T.

[name_f]Lilya[/name_f] [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] - I love the soft sound of [name_f]Lilya[/name_f] with the strong feel of [name_f]Agnes[/name_f]
[name_f]Deidre[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] - [name_f]Deidre[/name_f] is my nan’s name, and my middle is [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]
[name_f]Elodie[/name_f] [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] - the whimsical feel of [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] contrasts nicely with the strength of [name_f]Catherine[/name_f]
[name_f]Isabel[/name_f] [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] - same as [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] [name_f]Catherine[/name_f]
[name_f]Gaia[/name_f] [name_f]Anastasia[/name_f] - I love the way this combination sounds
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_f]Opal[/name_f] - ‘same but different’ feel
[name_f]Lila[/name_f] [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] - embodies ‘Hollywood glamour’ (imo)
[name_f]Delilah[/name_f] [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] - these names ooze of energy and fun!

[name_f]Johanna[/name_f] A.

[name_u]Juniper[/name_u] [name_f]Lilith[/name_f]

I am [name_f]Olympia[/name_f] D(actually, my two-word last name starts with des and I don’t know if it counts).
[name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] [name_f]Twila[/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f]
[name_f]Liv[/name_f] [name_f]Arianwen[/name_f] [name_f]Iseult[/name_f]
