we’re having a baby boy next month and also moving into a new home with a room for him!
I’d love your nursery design ideas, whether they’re yours or off pinterest/wherever else. Ideas we like but are undecided:
-for walls: green, blue, bluish purple or light peachy/clay color
-anything with bears, wolves, owls, foxes, rabbits and turtles; sun and moon themed; woodland themed; anything culturally significant to Mexico
-overwall vibe of warm, cozy, and interesting
these aren’t requirements so just show me what you like! Thanks❤️
We are doing darker colours! Contrast is great for babies brains! One wall with be a dark navy blue accent. Once we decide on a shade! Here’s where we are at so far! Our guiding theme is space penguins The pink chandelier will be coming down and replaced with a gold Sputnik style one!
Omg, I love it! First of all, the theme is awesome and I’m tempted to steal it (or give it a twist- cowboy penguins??) I actually was considering a navy accent wall too, but not sure if really works with his room (the layout includes those annoying drop downs in the ceiling)
Btw, if you’re looking for any input on the shades, #5 from the left gets my vote! it has a hint of warmness that really livens the overall color. they are all great choices though! [name_f]Do[/name_f] you know what decor you’ll add to said accent wall?
@rosajune - I’m all for more fun themed penguin nurseries!!! I think a child room is one of the few places in a home where we can really be imaginative and make it into a special silly world!
You could definitely still do an accent wall even with a drop down, even somehow incorporating the drop down into it depending what it looks like. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you have access to photoshop or something similar? I find taking photos and putting them on the computer to mess with colours and layout in the actual room helps so much to figure out what works and what doesn’t.
As for the paint swatches I think that’s the one we are leaning towards too!! I want to get the new light fixture installed before we make a final choice just because it’s substantially different than what’s in there and light makes a huge impact on how colours can look!
@kibby 1 ) You’re so organised!! Our baby room is still a junk room that I need to go through and sort out! 2 ) I love the dark colours and the mat is so cute!! 3 ) Your penguin artworks are just adorable!! It’s come together so well!!
@_thelittlefairywren - It really helps that I’m not currently working and have nothing else to do with my time but grow and prepare for baby!! So definitely do not compare your progress to mine, I’d have an empty room if I was still working
I’m so happy with how it’s turned out, it’s making me want to redecorate about 4 other areas of my house with the confidence boost this has given me! It’s come together so nicely and I’m honestly so proud of myself [name_f]My[/name_f] partner keeps going in and flicking on the light every time he walks by, it’s adorable
