My dad recently discovered that a large percentage of his ancestry is Scandinavian, and, whahhh, this opens up so many new names for me! It’s not that I was trying to avoid them to begin with, but they just didn’t seem applicable, since I didn’t think I had an ounce of Scandinavian in me. But my dad is into genealogy/researching ancestry, etc., and recently did the DNA thing (I don’t remember what it’s called off the top of my head), and it revealed that he’s almost half Scandinavian! Which just blows my mind, because we’d never heard anything about it before now, lol. Anyway, so I’m excited to see if there’s any really great Scandinavian names out there that I’ve been missing! I already know that I love [name_m]Soren[/name_m] and [name_m]Bjorn[/name_m], but I’m already revamping my list, so I figured now would be a perfect time to incorporate my newly discovered Scandinavian blood! Anyone have any truly fantastic Scandinavian names they want to share?
That’s so cool!
My favorite Skandi boys names are:
[name_m]Axel[/name_m]

[name_m]Lars[/name_m]
[name_m]Leif[/name_m]
[name_m]Niles[/name_m]
[name_m]Peter[/name_m]
[name_m]Thoren[/name_m] - I actually would prefer [name_m]Thorin[/name_m] for its Tolkien association, but this is the Skandi spelling:)
[name_m]Viggo[/name_m]
That makes me want to do the DNA thing! So cool!

Isn’t it?! I can’t wait until my mom does her side of the family now, so I can find out the other half of my ancestry!
[name_f]Majken[/name_f], [name_m]Oskar[/name_m]/[name_m]Oscar[/name_m], [name_f]Anja[/name_f], and [name_f]Maja[/name_f] have been added to my 15-page-long-list of names I’m considering to put into combos. (Plus [name_m]Thorin[/name_m], [name_m]Peter[/name_m], [name_m]Jorgen[/name_m], and [name_m]Sven[/name_m] from @emmamay’s and @mclola’s sugestions! Hopefully one of them makes the list!

Hopefully one of them makes the list!
If anyone else has any more ideas, I’d love to hear them!
