It’s been ages since I’ve posted here, but this one brought me back. I had finally settled on [name_f]Indie[/name_f] as a solid first. I was going back and forth for the longest time on whether it needed a longer, more formal full name with [name_f]Indie[/name_f] as a nickname. I don’t really love [name_f]Indira[/name_f] or [name_f]Indiara[/name_f], and I like [name_u]Indiana[/name_u], but everyone I’ve talked to about it in person has wrinkled up their nose at the idea of a state name.
But recently there were quadruplets born in my area and they were named [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f], [name_f]Esme[/name_f], [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f], and [name_f]Indie[/name_f]…and sure enough [name_f]Indie[/name_f] caught on like wildfire. (I don’t really care for the other names for myself, but I’d guess they’ve all caught on as well; [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] was already fairly high on the list)
I know, I know. Before someone says how ridiculous it is that I need a ~rare~ name, I don’t really. I just don’t want a trendy name that ties my future kid to a certain generation or has them being 1 of 5 Indies through college. I’m almost 30 and there are easily a few dozen [name_m]Andreas[/name_m] at my work (admittedly I work for a large university); and I am 1 of 3 [name_m]Andreas[/name_m] in my small group of friends. And, to be honest, I do like to be a little different and a little off the beaten path.
So…I’m giving up on [name_f]Indie[/name_f]. Because around here at least, names catch on, and it won’t be long before [name_f]Indie[/name_f] is the next [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f]. At least where I live.
But nothing sounds as whimsical and lovely in comparison. I still love [name_f]Clementine[/name_f], and I like [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f]/[name_f]Rosa[/name_f]/[name_f]Rose[/name_f] still, but [name_f]Indie[/name_f] was the one that tied them together and made the trio sound wow, you know?
I feel like I need new suggestions to add some wow back into my names. Any suggestions?
