Gloria

What do you think? We’d use the nickname [name]Glory[/name]. With names like [name]Olivia[/name], [name]Cecilia[/name], and [name]Julia[/name] getting really popular, I’m surprised we haven’t seen more Glorias.

What do you guys think?

I think it’s a great choice! Beautiful, uncommon but familiar!

I really like [name]Gloria[/name]. It’s one I’ve been contemplating lately, trying to find a G name that DH likes. Unfortunately, he doesn’t see her charms. I think she’d fit right in with [name]Sophia[/name], [name]Olivia[/name], etc., while still standing out. [name]Lovely[/name].

Now that I think of it, there are hardly any little Glorias out there! I like it, but when I was younger I went through a phase where I loved [name]Glory[/name] as a fn. [name]Gloria[/name] would probably be easier to find a mn for. Sometimes the “y” ending can be tricky. Either way, such an overlooked classic!

I really like it. It is on my radar, but I don’t think DH would go for it.

I quite like it. A friend of mine names [name]Gloria[/name] and her nn is Glow. cute, isn’t it?

The only [name]Gloria[/name] I’ve ever known was a lovely young Ugandan lady, and I always think of her. I’d love to see a little girl named [name]Gloria[/name] too. It’s very pretty! [name]Glory[/name] is sweet (and I also love Glow too!)

I love [name]Gloria[/name]! If DD wasn’t already [name]Grace[/name], I would use [name]Gloria[/name]! [name]Even[/name] though I know most people don’t like this nn, I am partial to [name]Gloria[/name] nn [name]Lori[/name]. It just makes me smile for some reason. [name]Gloria[/name] nn [name]Glory[/name] is super cute.

It is growing on me but to some extent it is a dated name to me - I know a few Glorias in their 60s. But I think that may be uncommon. Besides the rise of -ia names, other -a Latin names like [name]Stella[/name] and [name]Luna[/name] are rising, and there’s the generally appealing character on Modern Family played by [name]Sophia[/name] Vergara. So, I do think it will be more popular soon.

It is not one of my favorites, but I find it perfectly pleasant - just a bit surprising on a baby given my own personal connections.

I know a five-year-old [name]Gloria[/name] and an almost 1 year old [name]Gloria[/name]. Definitely ready for (or is already) making an come back from my perspective!

[name]Gloria[/name] is great, [name]IMO[/name]

[name]One[/name] of those names that are really growing on me. It sounds refreshing without sounding too flighty or overly whimsical.

I don’t like it at all. It gives me a bad image, and the sound is bit much.

I [name]ADORE[/name] it, it’s a front runner of mine with a diff NN so shhh on this name it doesn’t need to become over used like some other older names!

I’m so pleasantly surprised by the reactions! [name]Don[/name]'t worry, tinabina…it’s our little secret! haha

I think [name]Gloria[/name] is such a beautiful name, one of my favorites. It also has a lot of great nn potential, like [name]Glory[/name] as you said, and I know a 20-something [name]Gloria[/name] that goes by Glo a lot. [name]Love[/name] it!

Oh I love Glow too as a NN…good call OliviaSarah - but [name]Glory[/name] is super cute too…
[name]Gloria[/name] [name]Susanne[/name] is cute…susanne means [name]Lily[/name]
[name]Gloria[/name] [name]Olivia[/name] is cute too…

I like it! I couldn’t use it myself, because of a family connection. Otherwise it would definitely make my list. [name]Love[/name] [name]Glory[/name] as a nn (or as a name in and of itself, actually).

I like it! I like [name]Gloria[/name] a bunch, but I don’t really like [name]Glory[/name]…
