Someone in my neighborhood had baby girl a couple weeks ago. He and his wife named her [name_f]Goddess[/name_f] [name_f]Quinta[/name_f]. I’ve always thought [name_f]Goddess[/name_f] was cool name, but I never thought I would hear somebody actually use it because it is so out there. I know I would never ever use it for a first name, but what do you think about it as a mn?
Honestly, I think it’s atrocious. It’s like naming someone [name_f]Princess[/name_f] or Beautiful. Plus, can you imagine teenage boys with that one?
Definitely not my taste… I agree that it’s atrocious, and personally think it’s unfair to the child. It’s a bit much. I can’t see someone naming their son God either.
I honestly think that name is terrible. I don’t know what some people are thinking when they name their child.
What seems trendy or cool now will not always be what’s best in the long run. Sure “[name_f]Precious[/name_f]” or “[name_f]Goddess[/name_f]” might seem cute for a 2 month old. But those babies grow into adults who have to apply to college, interview for jobs, etc.
I cannot imagine having to go through life with a name as awful as [name_f]Goddess[/name_f].
I think it sounds a bit odd… a lot of words can make lovely names, but this sounds clunky to me. I would even take [name_f]Princess[/name_f] over [name_f]Goddess[/name_f], because it least it has some amount of flow and softness.
As a MN… I don’t know. Because of the style of the word, I think it would look strange in the middle of a name. The very idea of “goddess” is head, boss, at the top, etc. And I don’t think there is anyway to use it as a first name, without it sounding utterly ridiculous!
