Good, bad, and ugly comments wanted

…on the name [name_f]Adrienne[/name_f]. Hold nothing back please!!!

We live in the US. She will be 1/2 italian, 1/4 greek and 1/4 irish with a 3 syllable, 9 letter greek last name. Her older sister is [name_f]Elena[/name_f].

Comments on [name_f]Adrienne[/name_f]…Ready, set, go…

Cute! I think of the movie “[name_m]Rocky[/name_m]” but that makes it even cooler, imo.

I can’t think of anything bad about [name_f]Adrienne[/name_f].

WOAH, this is crazy because my partner’s name is [name_f]Adrienne[/name_f] and her older sister’s name is [name_f]Elena[/name_f]!! What are the odds?

[name_f]Adrienne[/name_f] is a BEAUTIFUL name. It’s strong, elegant, spunky, and fits any personality. The [name_f]Adrienne[/name_f] I know is kind, intelligent, unconventional, and fun. The great thing about this name is that it’s feminine, without being “too” feminine, so it can fit anybody. I can easily see it on an artist or a business woman, a child or an adult. It’s both familiar and unique. I also think it can fit any physical appearance, and would work well on someone with such a beautifully diverse ethnic heritage!

I think this is a gorgeous choice that you would not regret :).

My best friend as a child was [name_f]Adrienne[/name_f]. She did get “yo, [name_f]Adrienne[/name_f]!!” from [name_m]Rocky[/name_m] pretty frequently (we were born in the late 80s, though, so that movie might be less well known now). I think it’s pretty, strong, feminine, recognizable but not too common.

I hear pure beauty! A gorgeous, underused name. And, I’m a [name_m]Rocky[/name_m] fan, so that’s a positive for me.

[name_m]Even[/name_m] though the name is not my top choice, I still think it is beautiful  I think [name_u]Andy[/name_u] is one of my favorite nicknames as well

@ silversky109…your post made me smile. What are the chances? I do not know an [name_f]Adrienne[/name_f]. Can you ask your partner her thoughts on her own name? Any nicknames she loved or hated?

I love it! It’s one of my favorite names!

I think it’s cute!

I have mixed feelings on it. First, I llove [name_m]Rocky[/name_m]. My now baby is nn [name_m]Rocky[/name_m] because the baby was seeing punching at the ultrasound wand. But it does seem a bit dated due to it. Also there are SO MANY A-names nowadays it may get lost in the Addisons, [name_f]Ava[/name_f]'s, [name_f]Arianna[/name_f]/Arianas etc etc.

[name_f]Adore[/name_f] [name_f]Elena[/name_f]!! [name_m]Just[/name_m] beautiful, too popular for me but adore it.

I’ve always loved the name. One of my good friends has this exact spelling and she goes by [name_f]Addy[/name_f]. She likes her name and I think it’s beautiful and underused. I recommend!

My older brother’s name is [name_m]Adrian[/name_m], but I also love it for a girl’s name. Much better than [name_f]Adrianna[/name_f] I think. I think it goes great with her ethnicity.

I have a soft spot [name_f]Adrienne[/name_f]. It’s strong, chic, and underused.

If I’m completely honest, it doesn’t jump out at me. But more than anything that’s just personal differences in naming style.

Some positive aspects of [name_f]Adrienne[/name_f] for me are:

  • It matches really nicely with [name_f]Elena[/name_f].
  • It’s internationally recognisable, which sounds like it might be important in your family.
  • It’s different, definitely not a name I hear often, but it’s also not weird-I know how to say it.

So yeah, personally it’s not my style, but I think it sounds good and will work well for your family.

Honestly (and I’m so sorry for this) I think the name [name_f]Adrienne[/name_f] is really ugly. It just doesn’t have any redeeming features for me. [name_f]Bridgette[/name_f]?

It’s a really pretty name and conjures up the image of a strong, confident and self assured woman.

I think if you can get over the [name_m]Rocky[/name_m] references (and there [name_m]WILL[/name_m] be [name_m]Rocky[/name_m] references) it’s definitely a name to invest in that will honour your heritage.
