Good Full Names For The Nickname Jim?

[name_m]Hi[/name_m]! [name_f]My[/name_f] wife and are expecting a little boy soon, and we’ve decided that we want to call our future little one [name_m]Jim[/name_m]. But, we’re not exactly fans of [name_m]Jim[/name_m] as a first name, or [name_u]James[/name_u], or [name_u]Jamie[/name_u], or [name_u]Jamison[/name_u]. We’re a bit stuck, as we’ve really grown attached to the nickname, but have no clue what his full name will be! We still want to use [name_m]Jim[/name_m], so could you guys possibly suggest some alternate full names in which [name_m]Jim[/name_m] could be a nickname for? Also, if this makes any difference, [name_m]Jim[/name_m]'s middle name will be either [name_m]Redford[/name_m] or [name_m]Redmond[/name_m]. Thanks in advance! :kissing_heart:

It’s probably not ‘full name’ enough, but there’s [name_m]Jimmy[/name_m], nickname [name_m]Jim[/name_m]. Also:

Jeremy called [name_m]Jim[/name_m]
[name_u]Jameson[/name_u] (probably the same as [name_u]Jamison[/name_u] though)

You could probably use any name starting with J and call him [name_m]Jim[/name_m], but I think [name_m]Jeremy[/name_m] would be nice.

[name_m]Jeremy[/name_m] is pretty lovely! Unfortunately [name_m]Jeremy[/name_m] is one of those names I can’t use, since I’ve had a pretty rocky past with a [name_m]Jeremy[/name_m], but thanks for your suggestion anyways! I’m sure other moms will be thankful for your reply, as am I

The only other names I can think of besides the ones you listed are [name_m]Jeremiah[/name_m] and [name_m]Jerome[/name_m]. If you love [name_m]Jim[/name_m] so much, though, just use [name_m]Jim[/name_m]. There’s no reason you can’t use a nickname as a full name.

I think [name_m]Jerome[/name_m] is a good option. [name_u]Julian[/name_u] might also work as a bit of a stretch. [name_m]Jennings[/name_m], [name_m]Jenkins[/name_m], [name_m]Jenson[/name_m], [name_u]Jericho[/name_u], and [name_m]Jonathan[/name_m] are also possibilities. They aren’t necessarily intuitive but if you want to call your baby [name_m]Jim[/name_m] I think you could kind of pick whatever J name and it might work haha.

Jemain (Flight of the Conchords)
[name_u]Jermaine[/name_u]
[name_m]Jerome[/name_m]
[name_m]Jamal[/name_m]
[name_m]Jiminy[/name_m]
[name_m]Joram[/name_m]
Any J-M double barrel name could work too (ex. [name_u]Jean[/name_u]-[name_m]Marc[/name_m])

Wildcard suggestion: Jacomo :blue_heart:

I also think [name_u]Benjamin[/name_u] could work? Or maybe even [name_m]Elijah[/name_m], at a push?

I like [name_m]Jerico[/name_m]! There’s a book character I really love named [name_m]Jerico[/name_m] (although their nickname is [name_f]Jeri[/name_f]). I’ll see if that name grows on me and my wife.

Jeremy
[name_m]Eugene[/name_m]? (Maybe a stretch…)
[name_m]Joaquin[/name_m]
Jimothy
[name_m]Javier[/name_m]
[name_u]Julian[/name_u]

Justice and [name_u]Jordan[/name_u] came to mind.

Lots of good options. The only thing I can think of that hasn’t already been mentioned would be [name_m]Seamus[/name_m] nn [name_m]Jim[/name_m]

Why not just name him [name_m]Jim[/name_m]? I think it can stand on it’s own as a fn.

I would say [name_m]Jim[/name_m] is a full name in its own right.
But I’ll shoot
[name_m]Jimenez[/name_m]
[name_m]Jeremias[/name_m]
[name_u]Jaime[/name_u]
