I’m having my first child soon, a daughter due in just a few weeks now and I’d love some impartial opinions on the name I have picked out. I was wanting something fairly simple with a nice to sound to it that she’d enjoy growing up with (I never was embarrassed by my name as a child but was always bored by it). Reviews have been positive from those around me but it’s harder to be brutally honest when looking a nervous, 9-months pregnant, first time mother in the face. The name I’ve chosen for her is [name]Lyra[/name] [name]Avani[/name], what do you think?

The only issue for me is that [name]Lyra[/name] and [name]Avani[/name] are both fairly obscure names-- I’d do something like [name]Lyra[/name] [name]Catherine[/name], [name]Lyra[/name] [name]Annabel[/name], [name]Lyra[/name] [name]Caroline[/name], [name]Lyra[/name] [name]Vivian[/name]. But that’s not really a huge problem. 
I absolutely love [name]Lyra[/name]! It was on my list for a while, actually. It’s so beautiful and exotic sounding.
[name]Avani[/name] isn’t my style, but it sounds very pretty with [name]Lyra[/name]. I’m sure your daughter will love it!
I love [name]Lyra[/name]-- beautiful and distinctive, I think it would be a great name to grow up with :). If it were me, I’d probably put something a little more simple and classic in the middle, something like [name]Lyra[/name] [name]Jane[/name], [name]Lyra[/name] [name]Tess[/name], or [name]Lyra[/name] [name]Catherine[/name], [name]Lyra[/name] [name]Caroline[/name] like pp suggested. But if [name]Lyra[/name] [name]Avani[/name] feels right, go for that!
