Good Names--Made up By You!

I’ve made up Fiara, Lilianette, and for boys, Aarus! What names have you cobbled together that sound nice? And would you ever use one?

Rhadmos is a name I made up and I love it so much! I would use it

[name_f]My[/name_f] husband and I created the name McKinzley for our daughter due this month. Most berries hate it, but I don’t really care. I wanted [name_u]McKinley[/name_u] or [name_f]Kinsley[/name_f] and he wanted [name_f]McKenzie[/name_f] so we came up with a compromise. At first I thought it was too weird but now I love it! And even though we made it up, I googled it and found out it’s a true last name! lol

Blara. It’s a combination of [name_u]Blair[/name_u] (my father’s name) and [name_f]Clara[/name_f]. I don’t know if I’d ever use it, though.

I used the name Ylisabel (Ee- lissa - bell) for a story once, I used to really love this name when I was a teenager. I would have used it back then, but now I’m more drawn to the forgotten classics: [name_f]Louisa[/name_f], [name_f]Claudia[/name_f], [name_f]Mary[/name_f], etc.

I’ve made up for various characters:

Delianna (dell-ee-ann-ah)- an elaboration of [name_f]Delia[/name_f]
Louisabella- to honour the character’s brother [name_u]Lou[/name_u] and sister [name_f]Isabella[/name_f]
Aniara (ann-ee-air-ah)- an elaboration of [name_f]Anne[/name_f]/[name_f]Anna[/name_f]

Anyone think those would be usable?

I think Louisabella could work

I remember combined [name_u]Tristan[/name_u] & [name_f]Isolde[/name_f] into Trisolde one day but I dont think i’am going to ever use it lol.

A made up name that once I was convinced I was going to use it , it was [name_f]Renesmee[/name_f] . Similar names that I have combined are :
Romnesmae
Reneysmae
Remesmae etc.

But I think i’am pretty terrible on combine names :stuck_out_tongue:

Fiara & Aarus are sound lovely. Especially Fiara which reminds me of [name_f]Fianna[/name_f].

@[name_f]Azalea[/name_f] : Louisabella is definitely usable & I actually like it. Delianna is also cool but reminds me of Dealiana lol.

I met a mother who used the made up name Iyom (eye YOHM) for her son, inspired by the word [name_u]Shalom[/name_u].

When my sister and I would play games as kids, my character was always named Zurahana. I still have a soft spot for that name, but doubt I’d ever use it!

I combined [name_f]Gianna[/name_f] and [name_f]Annalise[/name_f] to make Giannalise
Others:
Giannabel
Giannabeth

When I was about 11 I had a character on the Sims called Xanabel (possibly Zanabel or Xanabelle) - now it just reminds me of Xanax but I thought it was cool at the time. Like… [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] with a quirky twist.

Ooh, and [name_f]Aira[/name_f]. I think I was about the same age, actually, and I really liked [name_f]Eira[/name_f] but the correct pronunciation didn’t ‘‘fit’’ the spelling to me so I changed the Ei- to an Ai-. Whenever I see it on Nameberry I always feel fairly smug haha.

I have a list somewhere on Nameberry of these names I made up. Some of them (first 3) are altered versions of made up names on another thread though:

Girls:
Alastra
Elendra
Lothira
Endrana (Endora and [name_f]Morgana[/name_f])
Saffaura ([name_f]Saffron[/name_f] and [name_f]Isaura[/name_f])
Evadora
Monaecia (Mon-ay-see-a, this may be a place though. I’m sure it must be a real name!)
Xolydia (From Mixolydian mode in music)
I also like Evanora, Elsadora, and Ettalynn, but I didn’t make them up.

Boys:
Xaecian (Zay-see-uhn)
Xaeph (Zafe)
Xinnaeus (Zin-ay-us)

I really like them, and especially for girls there are some I think are quite usable.

Avalia (uh-VEIL-ee-uh)
Elsinore
Carolan (CARE-oh-lan)
