Good times Charlie / Happy little Harry (Laid back, nice guy names!)

I’m trying to come up with some laid back, nice guy names. I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Harry[/name], but DH won’t budge on it. He suggested [name]Charlie[/name], which I like, but I just KNOW there are some less common names with the same easy, classic feel that I’m just not thinking of. Can you help?

I need at least two syllables as last name is only one.
Big brother is [name]Leo[/name]. [name]Author[/name] names are a plus.

Others I’ve suggested, but that DH doesn’t like:
[name]Oliver[/name]
[name]Grover[/name]
[name]Walter[/name]
[name]Silas[/name]

Others DH has suggested, but are just too nicknamey for me:
[name]Sonny[/name]
[name]Buddy[/name]

Thanks for ideas!

[name]Both[/name] are gorgeous names, DH & I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Harry[/name] too but already in the family, as is [name]Oliver[/name]…We like [name]Charlie[/name] too but its getting more common as a girls name and i worry that it won’t seem such a strong boyish name down the track?

What about [name]Max[/name] or [name]Sam[/name]? (or the longer versions of these…maybe a little common for what you are after though?)

Sorry i am all out but look foward to seeing others feedback about your names too, have fun!

[name]Max[/name] and [name]Sam[/name] are nice, but too short. [name]Chester[/name] is kind of awesome! Hadn’t thought of it before. Thanks!

I’d love to find a name with the same sort of appeal. So curious to see what everyone comes up with for you!

If your not concerned about popularity [name]Jack[/name] would be cute! ([name]London[/name] or [name]Kerouac[/name])

Some other options would be…
[name]Lewis[/name] ([name]Carrol[/name] or C.S)
[name]Earnest[/name] (hemingway)
[name]Edgar[/name] (allan poe)
[name]George[/name] (orwell)

To me, the quintessential laid-back guys’ name is [name]Jack[/name]. And [name]Leo[/name] and [name]Jack[/name]? Adorable.

[name]Barney[/name]
[name]Harvey[/name]
[name]Pete[/name]
[name]Dave[/name]
[name]Wes[/name]
[name]Joey[/name]
[name]Andy[/name]
[name]Max[/name]
[name]Liam[/name]
[name]Rhys[/name]

My favorite boys’ name has always been [name]Jack[/name], and seems to fit the bill here. I’m sure curious to see what others suggest as I’m longing for a name with a similar vibe, but since we already have a [name]Jillian[/name], [name]Jack[/name] is out for us.

You could use [name]Harold[/name] or [name]Harrison[/name] ([name]Harry[/name] [name]Truman[/name] was a [name]Harrison[/name])

I do love [name]Jack[/name], but I am not crazy about how popular it is, and it doesn’t really sound that great with our one syllable last name.
It seems like so many of these relaxed classics are one syllable names:[name]Gus[/name], [name]George[/name], [name]Jack[/name], [name]Sam[/name]…

Wow, great list! I think I like [name]Arthur[/name], and oh how I love [name]Harry[/name]! I’ve suggest [name]Harrison[/name], but DH just can’t get past associating the name with Hair. What’s wrong with him??

I am biased because I have the most wonderful, laid back 10 year old son. His name is [name]Frank[/name] [name]Reagan[/name] and mostly goes by [name]Frankie[/name]. When he was born 10 years ago it was before the old-fashioned names were back in style. People thought it was a family name, but nope, we thought [name]Frank[/name] would be a cool kid! He is one happy dude.

I love happy little dudes, and [name]Frank[/name]/[name]Frankie[/name] certainly has that laid back vibe. Again with the one syllable though! [name]Just[/name] doesn’t work for me, and stretching to get longer versions of these short names ([name]Franklin[/name], [name]Jackson[/name], etc) just seems to mess up that easy going feel.

[name]How[/name] about [name]Ted[/name]? [name]Theodore[/name] is a great grown up name and [name]Ted[/name] is pretty laid back and easy.

I do like nn [name]Teddy[/name]! [name]Leo[/name] and [name]Teddy[/name] is pretty cute, right? But [name]Leo[/name] and [name]Theodore[/name] don’t sound quite right together…
