Gordon or Sullivan?

Help! What do you think of the names [name_m]Gordon[/name_m] [name_u]Michael[/name_u] or [name_u]Sullivan[/name_u] [name_u]James[/name_u]? His sister is [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f] [name_f]Paige[/name_f]. THANKS!

[name_u]Love[/name_u] both middle names! I prefer [name_u]Sullivan[/name_u] much more to [name_m]Gordon[/name_m] though; [name_m]Gordon[/name_m] seems dated to me. But [name_u]Sullivan[/name_u] is great!

I think that [name_m]Gordon[/name_m] goes much better with [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f] that [name_u]Sullivan[/name_u] does

[name_u]Sullivan[/name_u] is very close to [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f] both stylistically & by sound so I would choose [name_m]Gordon[/name_m] to break it up and [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f] & [name_m]Gordon[/name_m] make a lovely sibset.

Have you considered [name_m]Gilbert[/name_m]?

I love [name_u]Sullivan[/name_u] [name_u]James[/name_u]!

I love [name_m]Gordon[/name_m] I think it’s kind of underused, but maybe it’s just where I live. It is also great in sibset with [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f], much better than [name_u]Sullivan[/name_u] & [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f]. I was never very fond of [name_u]Michael[/name_u], maybe due to it’s over-popularity… but I really love [name_u]James[/name_u], both with [name_u]Michael[/name_u] are timeless classics. I’d vote for [name_m]Gordon[/name_m] [name_u]Michael[/name_u], or even [name_m]Gordon[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u]; but mostly I’d just vote for [name_m]Gordon[/name_m]

[name_f]My[/name_f] vote is [name_u]Sullivan[/name_u]!

[name_u]Sullivan[/name_u] and [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f] are too similar in sound (all those s’s, l’s and “ee” sounds) so I’m not loving them as siblings. [name_m]Gordon[/name_m] is much more suitable for [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f]'s brother.

Not a fan of [name_u]Sullivan[/name_u], so my vote goes to [name_m]Gordon[/name_m].

Definitely [name_u]Sullivan[/name_u]!

I love [name_u]Sullivan[/name_u] [name_u]James[/name_u] but not as a brother to [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f], they are just too similar. :frowning: I also think like [name_m]Gordon[/name_m] [name_u]Michael[/name_u] sounds very dated. I liked the suggestion of [name_m]Gilbert[/name_m].

Being Scottish, I love [name_m]Gordon[/name_m] more than [name_u]Sullivan[/name_u].

[name_m]Gordon[/name_m] is both classic and not that common.

Also I think two s names does not sound good.

Ooh I never think of [name_m]Gordon[/name_m]. I think [name_m]Gordon[/name_m] [name_u]Michael[/name_u] sounds great with [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f]. [name_u]Sullivan[/name_u] [name_u]James[/name_u] is very nice but a bit on trend at the moment. [name_m]Gordon[/name_m] sounds better with [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f] and would be the more unique choice.

Thank you for the feedback! Now I don’t know what to do?! I was pulling for [name_u]Sullivan[/name_u] and my husband was the one who REEEALLY wants a [name_m]Gordon[/name_m]. I haven’t told him that he wins the most votes yet. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you think there’s a way to make [name_m]Gordon[/name_m] more modern with a middle name?! I keep waking up in the middle of the night worrying about our nameless baby boy!

I prefer [name_u]Sullivan[/name_u], as long as you don’t mind how close it is to [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f]. I think it’s pretty close but if you love the name, don’t let it stop you.

I love both, but isn’t [name_u]Sully[/name_u] from Monsters Inc named [name_u]James[/name_u] [name_u]Sullivan[/name_u]? Not an obvious connection, but kids do become obsessive about those sorts of things. I like [name_m]Gordon[/name_m]. It’s kinky and eccentric without being too far out there, although with recent years, it’s become trendy. I would use both with caution. I mean, are you open to using three names? You could do something like [name_m]Gordon[/name_m] [name_u]Sullivan[/name_u] [name_u]James[/name_u] or [name_m]Gordon[/name_m] [name_u]Michael[/name_u] [name_u]Sullivan[/name_u]. [name_m]Just[/name_m] a suggestion.
