Our daughter was born 2 weeks premature on 3-30 via ER c-section her heart rate was in constant decel I woke up with contractions and tried to sleep them off but was 4cm by 4pm when we got to the hospital. After 25 hours of labor she was taken out while I was under gen. anesthesia. I have a Bandl’s contraction ring that obstructed labor. We had our name list and one of my later picks [name]Lilah[/name] along with [name]Coralina[/name] and Maeline topped our charts. My fav was [name]Lilah[/name]. When I was taken back for the ER c-section SO announced her name as [name]Lilah[/name] to everyone I was so happy I loved that name! The meaning of [name]Lilah[/name] [name]Rosalina[/name] (giving him his lina nn to honor his picks too) came out beautiful. [name]Lilah[/name] mean’s dark/beauty from [name]Delilah[/name]. Dark Beauty’s [name]Rose[/name] and true to our heritage her skin is red and hair is black even has fuzzy black hairs all over her back lol (nat. american)
Thanks ya’ll or hep with earlier posts and comments on the names. I hope we picked wisely!
Here’s her picture and birth announcement in the paper
The OP is right about [name]Lilah[/name] but not via [name]Delilah[/name].
[name]One[/name] source of [name]Lila[/name]/[name]Lilah[/name] is derived from [name]Leila[/name] via the Hebrew and Arabic and means literally “[name]Night[/name]” and is often used to mean “Dark-haired Beauty” or “Dark Beauty.” [name]Delilah[/name] being a separate (not as nice, [name]IMO[/name]) name.
I really love [name]Lila[/name]/[name]Lilah[/name].
Oh, for sure! I just thought she’d want to know that it was from [name]Lila[/name], not [name]Delilah[/name] but you beat me to the punch on explaining the [name]Lila[/name] part.
[name]Lovely[/name] name! I agree with your definition, but as stirpedsocks said, not via [name]Delilah[/name]. [name]Lilah[/name] means night in Hebrew. Anyway, it’s a lovely name regardless of etymology.
Also, you might want to post this in the birth announcements section so that [name]Linda[/name] can count it for the quarterly report.
